The initial explanation for Denounce says that denouncing an elector will "ensure that they never vote for you", but in a run where I denounced literally every possible elector (I'm trying to collect all the assassinations), I still got 2 votes (1 from Draug, which was definitely Stoyan, since Sinnipart was pledged to Lukamir, and 1 from Myrkka 1, which was presumably Korvos, because he was the only one there with a positive opinion of me). Not sure if this is a bug or if the description of denounce is misleading and the actual effect is just "lowers their approval a lot"

I do feel like it would be helpful to have some kind of reference of which sector each planet is in. In particular I know that when I was investigating people's allies and enemies on my first few runs and trying to keep people straight, it felt not very helpful to be told "Zolot is enemies with Oletko of Chakagola" when I had no idea where Chakagola was or how to get there. Eventually I just made my own list of all the electors along with their sectors and planets.

Happy to help! It did take quite a bit of planning, but after several attempts, I actually got the 29-1 election victory earlier today (I give a bunch of details on my strategy and planning over in the other thread: https://itch.io/t/5202617/highest-number-of-votes-youve-received-in-the-election ). Now it's time to figure out ubj gb znxr Mbenan n yhzra.

There are no guaranteed assassination attempts (unless you count the one in turn 1, but you can make choices that lead to that being correctly recognized as not an assassination). If you keep everybody happy, nobody will try to kill you even at the main plot events.

Probably too tricky to be an achievement, haha. It'd be fun if there was special dialogue for doing this, though. Some kind of reaction from Lukamir maybe. It'd be funny if he read the room and flipped to you, giving Zorana a unanimous 30.

1. Stoyan is the best science advisor with 75 science, followed by Lorkas and Chapadoc with 60 each. All of those will instantly unlock enhanced movement for you. If you do an intrigue 100 run, you can see everybody's exact stats without having to actually offer them cabinet positions. Combine it with high media to easily see the stats for everyone at once (via the imperial poll feature). I made a spreadsheet to keep track of these and help pick my cabinet.

2. An important thing to keep in mind in this game is that people don't have to like you to vote for you. It's fine to make a bad first impression with someone if you're going to win them over via a quest or cabinet position anyway (the exception is if you lower their mood all the way into hostile, at which point they stop talking to you, but with reasonably balanced decisions most electors aren't going there off of a bad first impression). Also note that once you've been assigned an elector's quest, you can still complete it even if their opinion of you drops enough that they don't want to talk to you.

3. You definitely don't have to stay in the same star system until you're ready for the quest. I typically head to Myrkka I as soon as I can move and grab Ethexae's quest before she turns hostile, then immediately leave the system to go recruit my cabinet members. I come back and complete Ethexae's quest on turn 23, right before Agonaglia. At this point she may be hostile and unwilling to talk with me, but once the quest is complete, she switches to positive and pledges her vote.

4. Yes, Lukamir always shows up turn 10

5. This one I don't know, I've been too focused on getting the 29 vote run to investigate the secrets in the game lol

Mostly the same as my previous run, except I got Milan via wrestling and added Rejt to the cabinet. The one hiccup was that the previous run grabbed Zolot and Milan on turn 5 and then rushed down to Heru II to get Khdarr. The new route doesn't have enough stats to grab Zolot and Milan until turn 9, which means that by the time I could get down to Heru II, Khdarr was already hostile and wouldn't return my calls (the need to grab early wrestling also means that we can't get the stats to make a good first impression early on). Fortunately, economics isn't that important a stat, so I was able to just delay Heru II and leave Khdarr's cabinet position empty until after the turn 28 jubilee, by which time I had the rhetoric to make a good impression and Khdarr was willing to talk to me again.

Max is 29

I've seen both the "dutiful daughter" and "someone who likes to enjoy herself" options as well as "You haven't left a strong impression one way or the other" (early in the run) and "You represent change, throwing out the old guard ... a fresh start".

Alright, so it turns out that we can outwrestle Milan with just 30 reflexes, 30 unarmed, and 70 wrestling, along with the strength booster from Stoyan. It's possible to get all of that by turn 10 while still hitting the 10 music and 50 invention that I'm using for Zolot, and they're all stats that my last run eventually gained anyway for Radomil and Lorkas' wrestling quests (who knew that wrestling was such a key stat for an empress). So at least in theory it should be feasible to get the full Tharkas Prime cabinet while still denying Lukamir all his pledged electors. I think it's very likely that it's possible to get 29 votes.

This is minor, but when I recruit Yakau, the pop up says that the fleet will now escort the palace, but their actual instructions remain as "Hold position at Heru I". If I spend another action to talk to Yakau and tell him to escort me, then the fleet actually starts following, but either he should do that by default or the popup should just say that Zorana now has the ability to give directions to the fleet (although I'm not sure if there's actually any point to moving the fleet at this stage of the game).

New record of 28 votes. Managed to flip Muistis back by rewinding to turn 28 of my previous attempt and welcoming the Mau first in the jubilee, and then not doing Rippling Eternity's quest (apparently he'll vote for me without it, and it seems like something that would upset non-Heru. The third elector got approved in the epilogue anyway). Rejit was the only vote for Lukamir (besides Lukamir himself ofc). I might need to go back and test out the requirements for Milan's quest again. If it's actually possible to get both Zolot and Milan via quests before Lukamir grabs them, then I can just absorb all of Tharkas Prime's electors into the cabinet to secure their votes.

Gave it another try adding Milan and Khdarr to the cabinet (replacing Lorkas and Mirielle), and got 27 votes a different way. This time nobody pledged for Lukamir, but Muistis and Rejit went for him in the election. Not sure what changed their opinions compared to the previous run. Unfortunately neither of them give me quests, so there isn't a quick fix that way. I still think 27 is probably beatable, but it seems pretty hard without knowing which policy decisions are going to please which electors. Before I try this again, I'll probably want to do a max media run where I just imperial poll every turn to see what impact my main storyline decisions are actually having (particularly on the electors I can't win with quests)

I made this to help me keep track of everybody's allies and enemies when planning cabinets and figuring out what order to pursue electors in. Not sure if it will be useful/legible to other people, but I thought I'd share (Blue lines connect allies, red lines connect enemies).

One useful technique for avoiding assassinations is to take the snake as your pet so that you can set your mood to indulgent and then move it to social. I've never seen assassins on the "social" mood, and I did a run where I was specifically trying to bait assassination attempts (that Zorana survived 10+ assassinations and got 8 electors disqualified from voting lol). That said, it's possible to go through the whole game without facing a single assassination attempt if you do a great job at keeping everyone happy. Saving at least once a turn is definitely very helpful, though. When you fail a check the game tells you what you needed to pass it, and often if you go back a turn or 2 you can train those skills.

Unless you're going for specific scenes that require a very high value in a certain stat, I've found that the knowledge skills aren't very helpful to train, it's easier to just get those stats from your cabinet. There's not really any single stat that's a "must-have", though, most checks can be passed in several different ways. There are a lot of checks for empathy, but most of them are just for telling whether or not someone likes you, not actually influencing people's opinions. Rhetoric and especially etiquette also have a lot of checks, but many of them have pretty low requirements. I've found that just grabbing student level (30) in both is generally enough to keep from offending everybody.

Personally, I've never recruited the admiral via spaceships (yet). Having "survived an assassination attempt" (which you can get for free by having the Thresher sleep in your room), "played ritual Starfall" (which I already like to do to recruit Ethexae) and the wrestling accomplishment from either Lorkas' or Radomir's quest is enough ti impress him.

I don't know the exact mechanics behind assassins, but the thing I've found helpful in picking a cabinet is making sure that none of the members are enemies with each other, because that was explicitly said an update to be something that tanks their approval of you. Having a high skilled cabinet doesn't inherently increase assassination attempts, it's just that some of the electors with the highest stats also have a bunch of enemies. Also, if you haven't found out, getting intrigue to 100 once is pretty useful for figuring out exactly what each elector has to offer you.

I just went for a vote-maxing run and won the election 27 votes to 3. Holdouts were Lukomir, Milan, and Khdarr (presumably). 22 of those were pledged votes and then I got 5 out of 6 undecideds to break for me. I didn't use blackmail at all, but I did max my allure and made significant use of "charm and flatter" to either nudge people into friendly so that I could secure their vote without a quest, or to at least get neutral voters leaning positive. I ended up securing Zolot, Radomil, Krovos, Three Rocks Nestled, Rippling Eternity, Chapadoc, and One Bite via doing their quests (in that order), Eve via marriage alliance, and Stoyan, Mirielle, Erilotti, Oberod, Ozara, and Lorkas by adding them to my cabinet. I had the cabinet planned from the start with the goals of getting high stats, not including any pair of enemies, and grabbing people that Lukamir likes to target early (which is why Oberod is there).

I honestly wouldn't be surprised if it's possible to get 29 votes with careful planning (I'm assuming it's not possible to keep Lukomir from entering the election and voting for himself).  It seems difficult to get Milan's quest done (although I haven't mapped out all the exact stat requirements) before Lukomir snatches him up, but he could probably replace Lorkas in the cabinet as Logothete of Culture. The polling ability of high media is great for planning, but it isn't actually necessary once you have a full route mapped out and already know how everybody is going to feel about your actions (Lorkas is the only person in my current cabinet that doesn't get along with Milan, and I have not seen Lukamir prioritize her at all).  Khdarr was "neutral" when I visited her in person on turn 30, and she was showing up as positive in my turn 34 poll, so I'm pretty sure I just barely lost her vote (technically I guess I could have lost Robe & Starlight instead, but they were more solidly positive when we last talked). It would probably be possible to swing her just by making a different decision on one or two of the issues she cares about. There may also be some way to get her to guarantee you a vote or to at least give you a quest, but if so I haven't found it yet. Alternatively it might be possible to add her to the cabinet, but Heru II is a pain to get to early.

My current route was "Beeline to Draug for Stoyan and his enhanced movement. Get back to Myrkka I by turn 10 to grab Zolot. Head to Myrkka II, then Mau, then Tharkas I and II, collecting cabinet members. Swing over to Heru III to grab unsympathetic electors, before returning to Myrkka 1 to grab Ethexae and be there for turn 24. Head over to the rest of Heru (grabbing Sinniparrt on the way), and end in Tharkas III (saved for last b/c Sola is basically free)."

I definitely think the threshold for an achievement should be higher than 20.

Died to assassins my first several playthroughs, so this run I focused all on physical skills and combat to make sure that assassins couldn't actually kill me. Zorana never developed a shred of empathy (who cares about reading people when you can just have Sola conduct polls for you?) and was a novice at speaking and etiquette, but she impressed electors with her ability to win starfall matches, wrestle wild beasts, and survive death traps. Made it to the election for the first time, and won handily, 22 to 7. Never had to blackmail anybody, and I got to marry Kxenia for love. This game definitely scratched the LLTQ itch and I'm looking forward to exploring the world more and finding other paths through it.

It's been a long while since I played a visual novel, but I was in the mood this weekend, and happened to stumble on this one that was newly released.

The game was very cute. Would romance Cthullu again. It's super impressive that you made this in a month! I'm currently having fun trying to find all of the endings. It's making me nostalgic for when I first encountered your work on the Lemma soft forums and spent hours upon hours hunting down all the endings for The Way We All Go (crazy to think that was almost a decade ago).
