Thanks :) I really wanted to include more but time really got ahead of me!

Thanks dude :) I think next time I do a jam I'll to work in a group more on art/music than doing it all myself!

Thank ya for playing :) I wasn't going to add more to the game but post-jam period I should add controller support! More an oversight than anything, probably more fun to play on a controller than keyboard

Thanks for playing :) yeah the tough time getting to grips with the game has deffo been the biggest piece of feedback across these comments, but honestly I'm pretty fine with it!

Also, first wild jam yes, but I did do a bit of programming in a couple other jams within the last few weeks :)

Good job :)

Once I figured the boat was pretty safe when in shallow water near an island, the game wasn't quite challenging enough for me personally - I think having a stronger overall objective to aim at might have boosted the fun factor, but overall a solid lil game!

If I were to suggest a specific tweak, it'd be to have to press a button to unload materials at an island - a few times I accidentally dropped people off at a location without meaning to

Original take on brewing and nice lil loop :) I think the game would benefit from a set goal to work towards or story - something to motivate chasing score - but enjoyable!

Thanks very much for playing!
The onboarding thing has definitely been a common thread - I think I might have leaned a lil too heavy on 'just read the manual', but I'm glad the game itself was just intuitive enough to figure out!
I should say just for clarity, this is my first /solo/ jam, but I have done a couple others in teams in the last few weeks :)

Thanks very much :) I would love to make it playable on a gameboy/emulator at some point but I'll save that for when I have the mental energy haha (no idea where to start with that)

Hey, thanks for the review :)
Fair comment about onboarding - I spent time that I would have done on a tutorial on the pdf manual instead, so will happily take a hit on that! Regarding a gamepad, I just ran out of time before being able to implement that, so I understand the confusion!

The gameplay itself was very fun, one of the ones I've played the most from this jam :)

Only feedback really would be to have the SFX and music on different volume sliders! At times it did feel the music was drowned out (I'm the kinda beast to have music set to full usually)

There were a couple of times where animations didn't seem to line up to when I'd make an attack, but other than that really solid effort

I think the only note on balance would be the printer-only round did seem like a bit of a spike (before then I didn't get hit once and didn't realise the coffee was for healing) but otherwise felt pretty well-rounded :)

As you said yourself, very basic game! Nothing too much to say but good job getting something submitted :)

I love a memory game, spooky vibes paid off too! A couple of times the cursor didn't seem super accurate to where I was clicking, but that's a nit-pick - good job :)

Pretty fun for a first game - I made it up to hour 8 before getting bonked out!

As others have said, the alarm sound managed to give me morning anxiety at 11pm lol

Thanks for playing :) Oop, yeah just noticed the typo with O/P being the wrong way around!
Appreciate the review, tysm - I want to spend more time playing jam games but I have very much fried my brain this last week haha

Thanks very much :) I was really hoping to have a couple more minigames in there but that would have definitely been pushing it haha

Yeah I'm very happy to lose to this, amazing job :) Art is so good and the lil sfx I love

Thanks for playing :) honestly I just like the idea of reading game manuals and it fit the vibe, so I'll happily lose points for skipping out on a tutorial haha. Regarding the controls though, from what I could find online, the keymapping is pretty standard for gameboy emulators!

thankya :)

also it's nice to know the game is playable by a bear

thank ya for playing! Getting the game to be simple but needing to figure out the 'knack' to it was certainly the intended design :)

Thank you very much! I whipped out my battered old gameboy and played through a bunch of classics to try and get the feel set in my mind, glad it paid off :)

You're right about the bee game though! I figured being able to repeat the game very quickly balanced the randomness a smidge, but it could certainly use some tweaks

Very basic game but I like the unique take on the brewing theme :)

I found it a lil too easy, but this is a fun puzzler! :)

yes

The feel and look of the game is brilliant (I'm a big balatro fan) but there didn't seem to be all that much strategy involved! I played pretty randomly and seemed to get by just fine - a lil more challenge and this would be bumped up a notch :)

I wasn't too sure what to do in the game, didn't feel super intuitive, but eventually got there! The look of the game is sweet though, love the retro vibe

Great roguelike, the game froze a couple times and had to reset, but I was unable to relaly replicate the bug - otherwise fun lil experience! Nailed the throwback feel :)

Thanks for playing, that's 100% the vibe I was going for :)

The art and style of the game are great :) I wasn't able to pause the game in the browser to look at the meeting notes, so was a little lost walking around interacting with bits! Has a nice feel to it though overall

The vibe reminds me a lot of old flash games I'd play as a kid! Not sure how to actually win the game - seemed to keep losing over and over on easy mode, but not a bad idea :)

I think a stronger main objective would really tie the game together, but it is really on theme and loved the art style! I went for the retro look too, love the choices you've made with art :)

Neat game, love the vibe of the visuals too! I'd say the tie to the jam theme is a bit too loose though, but other than that I really enjoyed playing this :)

The core lop was tight enough but feels like a direct goal to work towards would really tie the game together!

A couple buggy dev issues I came across: getting a lot of beer bottles across the bottom of the screen pushes the timer out of view completely, and the character doesn't always face the direction of movement, makes otherwise smooth movement feel a lil jank. Overall a solid start though good job :)

I didn't quite get to grips with the flow of the gameplay, but the player sprite and music were great :)
Also bonus points for a punny title

Thanks so much! As a newbie to development doing something solo for the first time, this means a lot

Ah got it! Doing a retro game myself I like the dedication in that case

The loop got repetitive quite fast, but otherwise solid - I feel with more text added and variety, there would be legs for a bigger game here :)

Could really use a couple of lines in the description just to guide how to brew! Took a couple minutes to get that figured out, otherwise a nice lil brewing game :) Would be good to be able to deselect individual ingredients to make experimenting with recipes a lil faster

Very small game but a nice idea!
