I'm putting together a team for Game Development, and I need retro artists! If you're interested, message me either in the comments of this post or via discord, my discord is below:

Multiple artist positions are needed, so don't be afraid to send me a message regardless of how old this post is. Pay will be distributed evenly among everyone involved upon time that payment is received.

No problem! I look forward to hearing from you or your friends! :)

I have no income, so I won't be able to pay up-front, but any money received on each project that we work on will be split evenly among us.

As the title suggests, I need 2D retro-style artists for my team!

If the opening sentence doesn't turn you away from my team then apply below! Make sure you have a database/portfolio for me to view that you link in your comment. You can also message me on discord: ProtoLink#4225 just make sure you have the link to your work so I can see if your art style fits what I'm looking for!

Hey still looking for a programmer? I'd be glad to pick up the project!

In the interest of full transparency, I'm going to start off by saying that I have no money, no income, and no way to pay anyone up front. I'm looking to build a team in the interest of earning money once our project is finished. Now with that out of the way, let me get into the details...

I'm the founder of a company that hasn't quite gotten off the ground yet; Glyphic Enigma. I'm also a decent programmer in GMS2, able and confident to build full-length games, though what's always held me back is my lack of experience in both art and music/sound design. I've always tried using free assets, but have always found myself lacking in full game's worth of good assets, no matter how hard I look. This has led me here; to start a team of dedicated individuals (that could be you!) so we can finally make something worth playing.

Here's what I need:

  • Artists: Every game needs art. This hasn't been my biggest need in the past, but having a dedicated artist or team or artists goes a long way towards making a game look appealing. If I end up bringing more than one artist aboard, you will all have to coordinate to make the art as consistent as possible across the whole of each game we make.
  • Composers/musicians: It's no fun playing a game in silence! (unless silence is a mechanic, somehow) This HAS been my biggest setback, as it's difficult to find good sounds and music to use that is coherent enough and consistent enough for a single game. As with the artists, if I decide to bring aboard multiple composers/musicians, you will have to work together to make the sounds and music consistent.
  • Advertisers: This can be a sort-of side-task for each person who comes along, or I could bring aboard someone to help advertise as their main  task. Either way, each game needs to be properly advertised or else it will be borderline impossible to put it out there, so to speak.
  • Miscellaneous: Do you have a specialty that you think would be good for my team? Go ahead and pitch it in the comments below! I'm looking for talent, so if you think you've got what it takes then don't be shy!

Now on to the pay:

As stated in my opening sentence, I have no income, so any money made on each project will have to be split evenly between everyone that joins. I don't like that any more than you do, but it's my only option right now. If this isn't a deal-breaker, then I'll gladly consider you for a position on the team. Otherwise, why are you even still reading? lol

Applications to join my team should be posted below or forwarded to my discord here:

Thank you for reading and considering joining my team! I hope to see you soon!
