Cool game, but feedback:
- would be nice to have a way to skip the intro (unless I missed)
- sometimes i get stuck horizontally to the passageways so it's basically softlocking me
commentary super funny tho
Not sure if it's on purpose, but the sprint having faster speed but shorter jump is a cool idea.
I'm not sure if it's just on my end, but some of the blocks look really weird, like they aren't rendering textures correctly.
Also no sound :(
I think if the highjump-lowspeed / highspeed-lowjump thing was explored a bit further and had levels that fit, it would be really fun
only issue with the movement system is that whenever i jump and fall it looks like i'm getting hurt? the animation of the camera makes me feel like im making a mistake somehow, even if i'm doing just fine
I just uploaded the gameplay video if you want to see that! I have to admit the video is a bit laggy, unfortunately don't have the time nor equipment to edit the video currently, but i hope it helps with the tough levels! At the very least I plan on updating the game after the jam (and hopefully completing it) so if there was any part of the game you really enjoyed (and a part you think should be changed/removed) please let me know, thank you!!!!
Edit: the gameplay video is in the game page itself
Fun arcade game, but i have a century-long rivalry with the birds. seriously, do they have homing missiles built into their feathers😭they keep sniping me, and it's so hard to escape them sometimes, especially if you're in the corner of the map and two of them are constantly hitting you.
or maybe i just have a skill issue 😭
Wait that shouldnt be possible 😭
If possible could you send me a video clip? Ive never had that problem when testing the game so would like to know the issue. Thank you!
Ok nvm i read the rest of the replies
Weird that holding it down gives extra. I thought i made it so that for the first few frames the player cant move. I'll check it out postjam. Thank yoy so much again!
Hi, CEO of THIRST CRUSH here (source: trust me)
I love the controls, they feel so good! (and the climbing is also good, usually they make it relative to the camera direction, which feels super weird. this one is much better)
The sliding feels a little off? Idk if i'm doing something wrong, but i click the key sometimes and it just doesn't work. I think adding smth like jump buffering but for the slide would help a lot (since i try to slide after jimping usually)
The narration and audio is PERFECT, also would love an option for tiny subtitles when the announcer speaks, if you ever extend the game post-jam
I really enjoyed it overall!!!
also side note, after the first bit of antigrav platform sections, when the gate is present that needs to be opened, if you stick to the wall and move left and right you can see through the wall :D
the inconsistency of movement is when the player moves during the arrow block's movement, so it skips that section. I didn't have the time to fix it unfortunately.
The hitbox issue is new to me though, really sorry about that!
On another note, if you're struggling with level 3 (tower-style level), the arrow room has plenty of moves, so you can waste them in the corners moving once every few seconds to bait the arrows closer for escape.
I think the solution for this was to zoom out the camera, but i didn't think about that earlier...
Thank you so much for playing!
fun game, the lack of music is a little jarring, i think even the sound of car driving and honking would be cool, instead of just the gambling machine
sometimes the trucks spawn way too close and its impossible to tell which way im supposed to go to survive, although i guess that fits the theme of risk XD
This is a very interesting take on that watermelon game
i really like the art and the music, and just the gameplay loop in general
i do wish we could rapid-fire shoot the balls though. apart from that very nice game :D
also as i write this comment i realised that you're the same one who i teamed up with around 2-3 years ago. not sure if you remember me but i'm super thankful for you letting me work with you :)
(Also i'm way better with git now 😭)
