Yes, e.g. write me an email to get a steam demo key. Simply grab an email address from the Regain Earth web page. But, you could also make easily an discord account and fetch a key in discord. Many gaming communities/games have discord channel, so, I think it's not bad having an account for the future. :-) Do as you want.
Yes, Demo key for Steam. As I said, a backend is needed for many features, so Steam is needed to play the game with all features.
Itch in general supports to hand over Steam keys when you buy a game on Itch. That's Itch supported by default. But I think not for free games like my demo, because I do not get it to work that Itch free demo user also get a steam demo key. As I said. I have a support ticket at Itch open, perhaps it is working and I am just dumb as hell. :-)
In the meantime, if you want to play the full game, simply come to Discord and grab a free demo key for steam there. A bot is running 24/7 in Steam. Also, if you want to give feedback, discord is best place. You can also upvote next features. I work very community-driven.
It's multiplayer. But only with Steam backend. A backend is needed for match making so player can find each other. Also Achievements and stats and such cool features need a backend. So, if you like the Itch.io version, just come to discord and grab a free Steam demo key.
I have a support ticket open at Itch, if it is possible to deliver steam keys to itch user who downloaded my game. But I guess this is only supported by itch for payed games at itch.

ABOUT MY WORK ON THIS GAME
I really worked my ass off for my game, now already 3 years, to create something that can be called a game. Through a (small) success on TikTok, now already 2,000 people have played my game demo. And the feedback is consistently good, though I think most also evaluate that I'm solo dev and can't compare my game to Fortnite, Warzone, PUPG or Apex Legends.
The game is my first game project at all, and I also work solo on it.
I use many assets from online asset stores, because I could not also make all textures and models myself, things like gameplay design, menu (UI), nearly-bug-free gameplay and especially that everything works in multiplayer (multiplayer replication) and that the assets from the stores are tried, fine-tuned and integrated into the game, is for me alone already extremely much work. So, I hope you forgive me, if you see assets in the video that you know from other games.

Regain Earth: First Strike is a third-person Sci-Fishooter game. Take the tough challenge of surviving waves of increasingly difficult evil mutants and robots!
Grab a friend or two to hunt and slay them all. Crush up to 6 enemy waves with help of randomly dropped weapons and enhancements. Achieve the top of the leaderboard! Earn rewards to unlock new game features and new maps!
