Hi itch.io community,

My name is Christian, and I’m the admin of the Level Up Game Jam 2025.

I’ve already emailed itch.io support and I’m currently waiting for a response, but in the meantime, I wanted to ask if any other jam hosts have experienced something similar or might know a solution.

The jam is properly set to Ranked, and the voting settings are as follows:

• Who can vote: Submitters & Contributors

• Rating queue: Enabled for all voters

• Rating queue size: 5 games

• Rating queue unlock size: 2 ratings required

Despite these settings, I’ve tested it myself (with several participants and their added contributors), and none of them see the rating queue system. Instead, they’re taken directly to the full list of jam entries and can rate any game freely—without going through the randomized 5-game queue as expected.

I’ve refreshed pages, double-checked the settings, and confirmed this behavior across multiple accounts.

This is really concerning because the voting period has already started, and I want to ensure every game has a fair shot at getting played and rated. Without the queue system, many games risk going unnoticed due to lower visibility.

Has anyone else run into this issue? Is there something I might be missing?

Important reminder in the "FAQ & Q&A" section:

• What if I win, but I'm not from Spain? Level Up encourages international participation and networking. Communications will be in Spanish and English. Digital prizes (assets, mentoring, game keys, etc.) have no delivery issues. However, physical prizes may be limited to Spain due to logistics. Sponsors will be contacted to confirm any exceptions.
  
  
  In the case of prize mentoring online sessions, the language used will depend on the sponsor. While we will try to accommodate English-speaking participants whenever possible, it cannot be guaranteed.
• Can I use assets I created previously or that are royalty-free?
  Yes. However, you must disclose their use and origin when possible. Projects using external assets cannot compete in the related categories (e.g., a game using music assets can’t compete for Best Sound). If assets are used without crediting them, the game will be disqualified.
• Can I use Generative AI for art, code, sound, or design?
  Yes. You must specify in the credits which parts of development used AI and what was generated. Games using AI in a specific area cannot be considered in the associated category. For instance, a game that uses AI for art cannot win Best Art. Additionally, games using AI are not eligible for any "Best Game" awards. Failure to disclose AI use will result in disqualification.
• Can my game win more than one prize?
  No, a single game cannot win more than one award. This ensures more participants are recognized. If your game qualifies for multiple categories, it will receive only the highest-ranking award based on jury votes. The award for the extra category evaluated by MGA, “Best Itch.io Page,” may also be given to a team that has won in another category.

Level Up Game Jam 2025 will feature a total of 9 prize categories plus 1 special category.
Of these, 6 will be rated by the participants themselves, including the General Category.
The 25 highest-rated games in the General Category will move on to evaluation by our professional jury, who will select the top 3 games.

The game with the highest score among the remaining finalists not in the top 3 will receive the Community Award.

The tenth (extra) category will be judged by our guest juror from MGA and will reward the game with the best itch.io page design and presentation.

- Todas las inscripciones para Level Up Game Jam 2023  fuera de plazo, es decir más tarde de las 20.00 del Lunes 17 de Julio (hora española) No podrán participar por cuenta propia ni optar a ningún premio de las categorías existentes al no haberse registrado dentro del plazo permitido del evento.

- Si lo desea de todos modos, podrá colaborar con cualquier equipo que se haya inscrito dentro de las fechas legales de la Game Jam pero en calidad de parte de un equipo existente, siempre que este esté registrado dentro del plazo legal.
