Yes, I watched about half of your playthrough so far and noticed you having issues with the font at times so I’m going to see what I can do with that. Also noticed quite a few typos as well in your playthrough! I’m keeping notes as I watch it for improvements I can include in the next update..

I’m going to finish watching your playthrough and have a new update out in a few days with some adjustments due to your feedback, so thanks again so much for it! Watching your playthrough has been a blast for me :)

Wow!! Thanks so much for your long thoughtful comment!

I like hearing about all the things you enjoyed and I'm really glad you like it ^_^

I'm happy you could appreciate the art and the messaging behind the game aswell.. yaaaay!

Sorry about the fishing spot being kinda hard to see, I was being a bit cheeky there heehee... The other ones were hard to find at some point too but I ended up making them all obvious because I didn't want to be too annoying, but I guess I missed that one...

Also, making the doors unique is a really good idea...... I'll admit I was getting lazy near the end of development and wasn't putting that level of detail into stuff anymore, but now that I've had some time to relax I canadd something like that for sure!

I'll plan to go back and make those changes in my next update then, so thanks for the suggestions!

WOW thanks so much for your review and video!!!

It seems like you really understood the artistic aspect of the game because you’re spot on with what I was trying to achieve in your analysis.

Thanks for taking the time to play it, make a video and leave a thoughtful feedback! That makes me really happy 😃

I’m going to watch the video now!!

Thanks sm for your review, I’m glad u like it!!!

Aww thx so much!! I’m glad u liked it hehe

Hello, sorry for the waayyy late reply

I know now that this is because the version of RPG maker i use actually doesnt deploy to mac or linux anymore...

However, the full version of the game is out now and you can play it in the browser!

So if you're still interested after all this time you can play it there haha

After 2 years of working on and off, my first game - Opus Torrentia - is finally out!!

Opus Torrentia is one of those surreal exploration RPGs with inspiration from the classics such as Earthbound and Yume Nikki. (it’s a quirky RPGmaker game, what do you want from me?)  It has strange environments, interesting characters, collectables, costumes, problem solving, puzzles, minigames and secretssss!

Basically, it's a game where you do whatever you want in the world I made. The objective* is to complete 10 different questlines which each unlock a different section of the Story Book. Once you complete the book you get the ending of the game.

This game is what I call a “creative stream of consciousness”. Meaning, I mostly just keep building on the ideas I have with no particular end goal in mind. This game is a creative exercise, more than anything, for me to practice art and learn how to let go of my perfectionism. However, it’s not all about me! I still tried to make it enjoyable for others playing it and if weird RPGs are your thing I think you’ll enjoy the game.

*There is no true "objective" to Opus Torrentia, and I did not make the game with the intention of it being played to completion, rather to engage with the game as much as you like. However there is an ending for those who are thorough in their engagement as a reward, and it does shed some light as to what the game is about as well. So please play the game in whatever manner you find most enjoyable

If that sounds interesting please check it out!! Thanks!!!

Looks cool, the art is great too!

Hey guys! I released the demo for my first game, Opus Torrentia, a few weeks ago!

Opus Torrentia is a surreal exploration RPG with inspiration from the classics such as Earthbound and Yume Nikki. (it’s a quirky RPGmaker game, what do you want from me?)  It has strange environments, curious characters, fun abilities, puzzles, minigames and secretssss!

I would really love if you checked it out and let me know what you think of it! :) Thanks!

Thanks so much for the play and the review!!

I did fix the text issue you mentioned, I just didn't upload that version yet, so sorry you ran into that!

And yep, you're right. The necktie should NOT still be there. I admit I added that area without fully testing it so that's my bad. I'll fix that right now and upload the new version shortly!

Thanks again so much for playing and leaving a review :)) im glad you like it!!

Wow, this whole thing was amazing and I have a lot of thoughts on it! Even though it was super short there's a lot to praise.

First off, the soundtrack is amazing. It definitely has a distinct "underwater" sound, and the way it changes as you progress sets the tone so perfectly, and you hardly even notice the musics changed unless you're thinking about it. It feels so natural and in line with the current emotions you're feeling at the moment that it almost unnoticeable. It just heightens the sense of uncertainty and curiosity you feel without distracting from the game itself, which is what an OST in this case absolutely should do.

Second the visuals. I absolutely adore the retro/low poly style and I think it was really well utilized here. The style + the way textures were utilized at certain points is really only comparable to dreaming. Where you feel like you can't see, you can't defend yourself, you can hardly move and you're not even entirely sure what you're looking at. There's a strong sense of surrealness although the location and most of the things you see are familiar to most people, which again emphasized this "dream"-like aspect to me.

And finally, the ending was so clever I couldn't help but smile. Really great job all around!

Hi there! I'm making an RPG/visual novel about a girl who gets mixed up in the spirit world and has to earn enough affection from other spirits to return to the human world. Sort of like a lighthearted friend/dating simulator with story and RPG elements. I'm looking for an artist to draw the talking sprites that will be used for the characters in-game. I'm an artist as well, so if it's easier then we can collab on them (you draw the sprite bases and I edit them for different poses and expressions).

We're going to have a total of 7 characters, not all are completed yet but here's a pic of my lineup so far.

I'm hoping for a more cartoony art style than anime but I'm open to anything so if yours fits the style of the game then you're in! My Discord is galgorithm#8065, feel free to send me some examples of your art and we'll go from there. Thanks!

cute and nice controls!

thanks!! glad to see you’re making games still! i got one in the works too

what program did u use to make this?

sent you a friend request. I see you already have a few offers. If you're no longer looking for a project to join feel free to ignore my request!

Hey! I have some renpy experience (the dating sim on my profile) if that level of programming will sufice! Also willing to learn more if needed. I also did the art for it. Galgortihm#8065 on discord if interested!

Hey, this sounds very interesting! I've been trying to write a game for a while now but had a wrench thrown into my plans. I'm more of a programmer/artist and writing isn't my thing. The goal of my game would be a tense, paranoia inducing cosmic horror. If you'd like to know more my discord is galgoithm#8065. I can explain more, but you will have a LOT of creative freedom as writing isn't my strong suit. Thanks!

galgorithm#8065 is my discord if you would like to talk more! I'm a character artist but I specialize in cartoon styles over realism

This will be a totally casual project I'm making in my free time. however I'm not the best writer. i want the game to take place at a flight school, because I myself am a pilot. I just think it would be a fun idea. There's no obligations, I'll handle the art and programming, I just want someone to help me write a bit. if you join me and decide you don't want to keep helping me thats fine too. like i said this will be a totally casual project we just work on in our free time. I've made one dating sim before as you can see. i made that one for fun too but by myself so the story and dialogue aren't where i want them to be. if you like writing and think writing a dating sim would be fun please message me! my discord is galgorithm#8065, thank you

my dog died recently, this made me cry.  cute fun game

I have just uploaded a dating simulator I made for fun. I have no original music for it though, just other video game tracks. Maybe this could make it more original! I’ll message your twitter as well

I’ll be saving this in the back of my mind for any future projects!

Hey! I just finished a Ren’Py game! I did all the art and programming and am interested in helping you if you still need it! I requesting you on discord

Mine doesn't seem to get past the first download phase, is the game too big?

Really awesome concept, sound design and art! I agree with the others about the maze design, it is very confusing and I wasn't able to get through it. The blood stains seem to be randomly placed instead of assisting you through the maze, so maybe that could be a simple solution to the problem? Still, very solid game, good job!
