Oh I didn't even know that was a feature! Thanks for bringing it to my attention

Thank you! A super-updated demo of the game is coming out within a week, so stay tuned! :D

Thank you for the thorough feedback! Unfortunately, I can't test Backdoor Shifts because it's Windows exclusive. I'd love to give it a review though!

Thank you so much!

The art style is gorgeous, and the game's mechanics are simple to learn but really fun to play with! I like how the player got a new movement/attack option after every fight rather than all at once; it's definitely a lot easier to take in as a new player. Hexblade has a bunch of potential, and I think if you keep it simple you have a great game idea here.

Loved watching your reaction! I'm glad you enjoyed the game!

Thank you, I’m glad you had fun with the game! I definitely want to add sound effects in the post jam updates. You are right that they will add the extra “juice” the game needs.

Thank you for playing and commenting! I agree with your idea about some visual tells from the hero; I think I’ll add those in my post jam update. About the hitboxes, the hero’s hitbox is actually larger than the bokos. I wanted to simulate how video game protagonists get larger hitboxes than common enemies. I’ll think about adding a tell to make this more fair.

Thank you! Yes, I noted that bug in the description of the game. I wasn’t able to fix it in time for the jam, but I will do that in the post jam update!

Let’s just say they are highly inspired by Link, for copyright purposes ;D

I understand what you mean about the slow pacing. I may try testing out some mechanics that would help speed it up a bit.

Thanks for the feedback!

Thank you for all the compliments! I am definitely planning on making a post jam update with sound, music, and more variety to the monsters and terrain.

This was a great entry to the jam! The art and sound was great, the controls were polished, and the game loop was pretty fun. My one complaint is that it would have been nice to have some kind of win state or large goal such as expanding your shop or buying an expensive item within a time limit.

I love the idea of a revenging neighbor, I think it fits really well with the theme! Although, I was a little confused on the goal and how to beat the game.

Thank you for the feedback! I agree that the terrain and monsters could have used more variety. Had I more time, I would have liked to give the hero a bow as well and include ranged monsters.

About the short interval hits, I gave the hero a short invincibility time like in other adventure games, but I did not show it well. Sorry about that.

Thank you!

Thank you! That is exactly what I was going for!

Good for you :D Hope you enjoyed it!

Thanks for the criticism. This was the second game I made in Unity, so didn't really know how to do character movement but I still wanted to make a horror game. I can see how it didn't work for you though

Thank you!

Thank you so much! It was fun to watch your reaction!

Thank you for constructive criticism! I agree with you about the end part: it definitely needs more work. I'm glad that everything else before it was spooky though!

Wow, that's awesome that you modded the game! Unfortunately, I can't play the Mac version for some reason.

Thank you so much!

Thank you for playing! I enjoyed watching the video.

Thank you for the feedback! This was the first horror game I ever made, so I'm trying to make improvements for my next game.

Yeah, originally I intended the mechanic to be hiding under the covers, but I rushed it so now it's sleeping!

Thank you!

Thank you for the feedback! I'm glad you enjoyed playing!

Thank you!

I appreciate all feedback, negative and positive. I wasn't trying to make the game traditionally scary, more unnerving like you mentioned. I do agree that the ending could use a lot work. This is the first horror game I have made, so I'm looking to improve a lot. I'm actually making another (longer) horror game right now; I would love to see if you think I improved!

Thank you!

Thanks for the video! I definitely need to work on my jumpscares; this is my first horror game!

Thank you!

Thanks for your feedback! I actually designed the game around the idea that you're hiding under your covers, but I rushed to finish it for game jams, so it turned out as "Can't Sleep". I agree with you about the jumpscare; this was the first horror game I ever made, so I will be improving things in the next game I make!

Thank you!

Thank you! I have no experience in 3D modeling, so this was my best shot in the little time I made it. I agree, it is quite amateur!
