Theme: "Familiar." A witch's cat, the comfort of the known, or something that just feels familiar but isn't quite right. You have two weeks. Use any AI tools to make free browser games! 😸🐭🦉

Welcome, so glad this is your first jam! Game jams are a lot of fun and a great way to rapidly improve your skills.
Interesting to hear about Grok, I've barely used it at all. I'll check it out. I've noticed each LLM seems to have its own advantages.
Excited to see what you make! You're also welcome to join the Discord for discussion and help.
Let's share our tools and help each other make the best games possible!
Here's my setup for the jam:
Code: Claude Opus 4.7 in VS Code
Art: Probably GPT Image 2. I've been really impressed with the results from the new model.
Music: Suno 5.5
Engine: LittleJS. It's been working amazing with Claude. I'm using the version in this repo that has extra stuff for AI like skills and templates: LittleJS-AI
I've found using an engine much better than vanilla JS because all the hardest parts are already handled, so the AI can focus on the gameplay. LittleJS works really well because it is so small and clean that the AI can understand it easily. You don't even need to know much about the engine, the AI takes care of all the for you.

Hi,
We are having a problem with our game jam and game not being listed and hope someone could help.
The game jam is centered around AI game dev. We understand is somewhat of an undesirable topic but there is great interest in this area. Our goal is not to encourage AI slop but instead elevate the quality of what is possible with AI tools. Also we are working hard to build the community and support human developers.
So far we have run 2 game jams that have appeared in the main page and received a great response. First jam 50 people joined, second jam 104 joined. We would like to hold a jam like this every couple months and devs seem genuinely excited about the opportunity to go wild with AI tools in a friendly environment.
Our previous jams and games are all visible...
We would greatly appreciate some help getting this resolved. Thank so much!

I'd like to try playing again if I knew how to make units, feels like I'm missing something.

It is really cool to see all the work and detail you put into this game. Just needs iteration and refinement but this is a great start!

Wow, really impressive work. This is a top clicker game for sure!

Awesome game and really good use of LittleJS! Here's my feedback...
So far i've played a few times and only been able to get the boss down to half damage but very impressed with this game quality and style!
Hey, I played your game for a bit and here is my feedback...
Great work overall! it feels very clean and professional already, and all the mechanics are there, just needs some game design work to tweak what you have.

nice work overall! i think one of the biggest issues is walls not blocking things behind them, if you can get that fixed it would be a big boost. Also you might try swapping in some premade music to help build the atmosphere.
You could try just getting rid of the chunk loading and having everything loaded at once. Then just control what gets rendered and updated. Instead of infinite it could just be a large world and if optimized properly it should not need to be steamed in. You can still use the chunk system to prevent rendering far away chunks.
I had a problem at first where your game was just a white screen for about a minute and I thought it was broken A loading message would help!
Great start screen, good vibes, music is chill and nice. I like the variety of charaters and art, style is good and consistent. Each character having their own intro story and art is a nice touch.
I found it a bit hard to get the hang of how to play. I appreciate the little guy giving me advice. Adding a visual flurish when new cards are played could help draw the eye. I think I have the basics how and eventually beat level 1! Nice end of level animation. I appreciate the challenge, really need to think about strategy.
Very impressive game, great style and polish. The gameplay is hard but good and challenging enough that I want to come back to try to beat level 2 another time.
Awesome game, very ambitions! It's almost like GTA for aliens. The UI and menu system work great, good font choice! The music is good, I like how it auto pauses when focus is lost.
All the work you put into building the world feels great. Theres a ton of detail here like the town area is incredible. The light and shadows hooked up to the ufo looks great. Id like more indication of where to go, maybe some kind of radar. Most of the time it runs pretty well but sometimes it has some very severe framerate issues like pausing for up to a second. I think you should focus on investigating the performance issues before you add more stuff, but theres a ton of potential here to build out the game, great work!
Cool game concept! The graphics look pretty good and I'd like to be able to go fullscreen. Itch has a built in option for that you could try. More enemy variety would help with different movement pattens and abilities. also for the special attacks, if they worked more differently so there is a reason to use one over the other. Music would also help add some atmosphere to the game.
Nice presentation, good intro music! I didn't get to play very well other then for testing but it seems to work pretty well. The sound effects seemed a bit harsh, and in game music would also be nice to add to the feel of the game. I'm sure this would be a lot of fun for a small gathering of friends.
I played by going to the url https://arcadebeasts.com/ You still need to fix it on itch incase other players are confused.
Graphics and music are good, nice cyberpunk vibe. The UI is really nice, being able to see inventory and stuff is great. I like the music but the ingame sounds are a bit harsh and could be less loud also. As a new player i feel a bit overwhelmed by all the numbers and stuff. Very cool all the minigames like pacman and snake! The framerate seems to take a big hit during the minigames. The glitch effect looks cool. I was impressed how much content there was, so I didn't get to see everything. Great work overall, will be cool to see where this goes!
Nice game, great style and atmosphere! The art style looks good and consistent. I played for a while, got to wave 7. Menu and UI all look great. I don't understand the purge/nav buttons though. The gameplay feels really nice and smooth. Trails behind the player look great. I wanted to get more upgrades and different types of attacks. Different types of enemies or play spaces would also help add variety. The music was really good too!
