Hi,

We are having a problem with our game jam and game not being listed and hope someone could help.

The game jam is centered around AI game dev. We understand is somewhat of an undesirable topic but there is great interest in this area. Our goal is not to encourage AI slop but instead elevate the quality of what is possible with AI tools. Also we are working hard to build the community and support human developers.

So far we have run 2 game jams that have appeared in the main page and received a great response. First jam 50 people joined, second jam 104 joined. We would like to hold a jam like this every couple months and devs seem genuinely excited about the opportunity to go wild with AI tools in a friendly environment.

Our previous jams and games are all visible...

We would greatly appreciate some help getting this resolved. Thank so much!

It is still feeling pretty choppy here. I know a good frame rate is possible because at times it runs at perfect 60fps. Then it hits a big spike where it freezes for about a second.

thanks!

Hey I played your game and it is working well, here is my feedback...

  • great to see there is a tutorial
  • nice main menu
  • good art style
  • player could move around a bit faster with smaller collision so is possible to dodge
  • nice upgrade system, i like how there are multiple ship types.
  • i did not realize the coins were good at first, i thought they were bullets. try to differentiate them more
  • i like the count down to start a wave
  • it would be cool to see more varied bullet patterns
  • good music and sound effects

I played your game and is working well, here is my feedback...

  • cool start screen! for some reason set to winder then my monitor so i had to zoom out
  • there are weird sound effects happening when i click away from the window
  • i thought maybe it froze up when i clicked deploy, maybe add a loding message,
  • the framerate is very bad it is hard to play.
  • if you are using canvas2d that can be slow to render, maybe try a game engine like LittleJS
  • in game graphics are good but could use refinement. like the player sprite could have different angles to aim the gun.

Hey i played your game and is working well, here is my feedback...

  • nice crisp pixel art, looks great!
  • nice animation on the sprites
  • sound effects and music would help to build atmosphere
  • i don't understand how to play, a tutorial of some sort would help
  • there are a lot of cool systems here, i think just needs some refinement
  • i don't understand how to produce units, so i am defeated every fight.

I'd like to try playing again if I knew how to make units, feels like I'm missing something.

I played your game and is working well, here is my feedback...

  • feels good, framerate feels solid. it is easy to see things.
  • good intuitive in game hud
  • solid blocks could be a bit brighter to differentiate from background
  • some music could help add atmosphere
  • i like the flip gravity mechanic
  • i did not understand what to do exactly, i collected everything but level didnt end
  • it felt a bit punishing to reset everything when player dies

I played your game and is working well, here is my feedback...

  • good layout and ui is working great
  • i like the music but it is a little bit repetitive
  • on screen buttons in the corner to toggle music, and bring up menu would be good
  • really cool how sound effects are timed with the story
  • i think you could do some revision to edit down the text a bit but it was an interesting story
  • a few choices would really help to get player invested

I played your game and is working well! here is my feedback...

  • amazing work, it is incredible too see how much there is.
  • music is good but a little intense for in game background
  • the framerate is really bad for me, it's hard to play
  • graphics look awesome!
  • try using chrome dev tools to record peformance and you can see what is causing it to slow down
  • click and drag to move the camera control would be good
  • fog of war system is really cool
    • ah i found out what was causing the slowdown, it was the fog of war. when i disabled that from the menu it runs much better now.
  • unit voice lines are working great
  • the right ui panel works great
  • it should show better when building is under construction, it was hard to tell
  • i dont fully understand how to play, a tutorial would help! even just more info on the itch page
  • i don't know how to build units.
  • it is sometimes hard to tell if a building is selected

Awesome work, I'm looking forward to seeing how you continue to improve this game.

I played your game and is working well, heres my feedback...

  • graphics look good, easy to see and understand
  • i like how player has options like qwe etc to defend
  • good sound effects
  • music would help to add atmosphere
  • it would be good to show units range when selected
  • good strategy elements,.
  • i like the fast forward and pause button, but id like to be able to build and examine when paused
  • good controls, i like double click to build!
  • lots of depth to this game, it is working nice.
  • great to see it remembers progress so i can come back later to play again. :)

I played your game! It is working well and here is my feedback...

  • loud sound effects when the game starts
  • awesome to see a 3d world with all these characters
  • hud looks good but is a bit busy for start of game
  • a little hard to control, feels like the rotation is not quite right
  • i wasn't able to get very far because of the controls.

Hey I played your game and is working well, here is my feedback...

  • cool story and intro!
  • great art style.
  •  i like how there are images that go along with each part of the text.
  • it is a lot of reading to get through.
  • I ended up click through a bit quickly and it was cool to see how the world developed
  • awesome to see all the graphs at the end of the game
  • I liked how the story wrapped up, really great concept.
  • adding music could help build the vibe of the game.

Hey I played your game and is working well. Here's my feedback...

  • nice start menu, good easy to understand layout
  • sound effects a bit jarring
  • music doesnt quite feel like it fits
  • a quick start option would be helpful
  • maybe player should have a starter deck
  • the cut to pack feature was cool but got annoying, maybe it could be more forgiving
  • great card art and really cool to see that some was even animated and have special sounds
  • music  slider doesnt work right, i cant click and drag
  • once i got my cards and deck in the game, the screen doesnt fit on my monitor, I have to zoom out.
  •  am somewhat a fan of card games, i play mtg on occasion but i did not fully understand how to play, a tutorial would help
  • i am playing on easy and just click a card and click attack and i seem to be winning but not sure why

It is really cool to see all the work and detail you put into this game. Just needs iteration and refinement but this is a great start!

I played your game, it is working well and here is my feedback...

  • good sounds
  • i like the vibe of the game
  • needs music, maybe you can even unlock new tracks within the game.
  • i like the minimal but functional art style, the blob works great as central clicker element
  • I like how there tabs with different stuff to do
  • oh wow the evolution system is really cool
  • needs fullscreen button
  • lots of depth here! one of the best clicker games i've played in a while
  • i have not got to it yet but i like how future mechanics are teased like im very excited about the breech and genome systems

Wow, really impressive work. This is a top clicker game for sure!

Hey, i played your game and is working well! Here is my feedback...

  •  pretty good graphics, maybe make the stars in the back a bit brighter with movement to add more variety
  • tough gameplay!
  • could use some powerups, maybe when you destory asteroids they drop some stuff you can use to buy/build upgrades.. i got temporaty homing missiles but not sure how
  • needs sound, you can add sound effects easily without needing wave files with zzfx!
  • maybe let player bullets go farther, the enemies go across the screen.
  • enemies that also fly like the player would be fun to dog fight

Awesome game and really good use of LittleJS! Here's my feedback...

  • Cool intro music and great music overall
  • Should be easier to go fullscreen
  • The story intro and tutorial are  well done, gets player excited
  • Great presentation and effects
  • pause button is needed, also maybe auto pause on lost focus
  • the 3d animation effect on the players ship looks fantastic!
  • it is hard to tell player's collision. it feels like it should be smaller. what could be good is add a bright color light in the center of the player, that is your collision.
  • nice bullet patterns, good challenge
  • it can be hard to get the pickups sometimes, maybe leave them around longer.

So far i've played a few times and only been able to get the boss down to half damage but very impressed with this game quality and style!

Hey thanks! I had the same problem with the shift keys and discovered that holding both shift keys causes problems with browser input. So I change the keyboard button layout to not use shift.

thanks! planning to use this engine to make a few more pinbal games at least, i think i can do even better with what ive learned

Hey thanks. I am definitely planning to make more pinball machines! This game also contains a built in editor that I used to place all the parts, so I want to reuse that to make more games. Also I learned a lot about pinball and think I can design a better game next time.

Hey, I played your game for a bit and here is my feedback...

  • great concept and vibe
  • good music, very cool there is a built in music player
  • nice html game system, lots of great css touches
  • i like how the little ufo comes by to steal stuff
  • the matching icons could be more distinctive and interesting. maybe create custom images
  • this is a lot of info to put on the main screen, it might be good to condense what you have here so player isn't overwhelmed
  • it is really cool that all these icons have their own actions but it seems like a lot to start out with. maybe would make more sense to have the majority be neutral colors without an emoji on top like they don't have a side effect just points. then as you get farther in the game it unlocks new special tiles that sometimes appear. like maybe each universe the player has a option to select from 3 special tiles to add to the pool.
  • being able to swap any 2 tiles seems too easy, at first i thought only neighboring tiles could be swapped. so I am pretty much just matching the first thing i see as fast as I can to progress without thinking about strategy

Great work overall! it feels very clean and professional already, and all the mechanics are there, just needs some game design work to tweak what you have.

I played your game and here's my feedback...

  • good start screen
  • i like the procedural generated music
  • a bit text heavy
  • i like the intro story and images
  • nice 3d rayasting system
  • the games runs really wel
  • seems like a bug of objects drawing through walls
  • the shooting and stuff all works well
  • some slight textures on the wall and floor could help
  • nice mini map

nice work overall! i think one of the biggest issues is walls not blocking things behind them, if you can get that fixed it would be a big boost. Also you might try swapping in some premade music to help build the atmosphere.

You could try just getting rid of the chunk loading and having everything loaded at once. Then just control what gets rendered and updated. Instead of infinite it could just be a large world and if optimized properly it should not need to be steamed in. You can still use the chunk system to prevent rendering far away chunks.

Game feels good, I like the light/dark mechanic!  Seems like it runs well. A little more sprite artwork and music would help make it feel more polished. I liked the sound effects and end of level sounds too. Very cool that you have so many languages! I was playing in Italian to help practice.

Nice work, good presentation and 3d graphics. I felt that the rendering was a bit slow, there are a few ways you could look into improving that. I liked how there were so many modes available and the mazes are procedural. Look into using webgl to speed up the rendering!

I had a problem at first where your game was just a white screen for about a minute and I thought it was broken A loading message would help!

Great start screen, good vibes, music is chill and nice. I like the variety of charaters and art, style is good and consistent. Each character having their own intro story and art is a nice touch.

I found it a bit hard to get the hang of how to play. I appreciate the little guy giving me advice. Adding a visual flurish when new cards are played could help draw the eye. I think I have the basics how and eventually beat level 1! Nice end of level animation. I appreciate the challenge, really need to think about strategy.

Very impressive game, great style and polish. The gameplay is hard but good and challenging enough that I want to come back to try to beat level 2 another time.

Awesome game, very ambitions! It's almost like GTA for aliens. The UI and menu system work great, good font choice! The music is good, I like how it auto pauses when focus is lost.

All the work you put into building the world feels great. Theres a ton of detail here like the town area is incredible. The light and shadows hooked up to the ufo looks great. Id like more indication of where to go, maybe some kind of radar. Most of the time it runs pretty well but sometimes it has some very severe framerate issues like pausing for up to a second. I think you should focus on investigating the performance issues before you add more stuff, but theres a ton of potential here to build out the game, great work!

Awesome flocking sim, it's cool to see all the variety that is possible. I felt it very relaxing to play with the different settings.

Cool game concept! The graphics look pretty good and I'd like to be able to go fullscreen. Itch has a built in option for that you could try.  More enemy variety would help with different movement pattens and abilities. also for the special attacks, if they worked more differently so there is a reason to use one over the other.  Music would also help add some atmosphere to the game.

Nice presentation, good intro music! I didn't get to play very well other then for testing but it seems to work pretty well.  The sound effects seemed a bit harsh, and in game music would also be nice to add to the feel of the game. I'm sure this would be a lot of fun for a small gathering of friends.

Good graphics and animation! The core gameplay is working well but needs a little more risk/reward. Music and sound would also really help to build the game atmosphere.

Cool game with a lot of fun features. I love how the hand comes in to smash you. Presentation is minimal but good. The game is very challenging and that is a good thing. Music and sound effects would help a lot to help build the atmosphere.

I played by going to the url https://arcadebeasts.com/ You still need to fix it on itch incase other players are confused.

Graphics and music are good, nice cyberpunk vibe. The UI is really nice, being able to see inventory and stuff is great. I like the music but the ingame sounds are a bit harsh and could be less loud also. As a new player i feel a bit overwhelmed by all the numbers and stuff.  Very cool all the minigames like pacman and snake! The framerate seems to take a big hit during the minigames. The glitch effect looks cool. I was impressed how much content there was, so I didn't get to see everything. Great work overall, will be cool to see where this goes!

Nice game, great style and atmosphere! The art style looks good and consistent. I played for a while, got to wave 7. Menu and UI all look great. I don't understand the purge/nav buttons though. The gameplay feels really nice and smooth. Trails behind the player look great. I wanted to get more upgrades and different types of attacks. Different types of enemies or play spaces would also help add variety. The music was really good too!

Nice use of 3d, I am getting GTA vibes! It was fun just driving around with my bike. I had some problems like turning seems reversed on the map and the player sprite is also backwards.  My bike feels a bit slow, I'd like to be able to go faster. Being able to choose what mission you want to do from the map is a really nice feature. The ingame UI is also working really well.

Nice clicker game! I love the message of smoking being bad and the player as a villian. The economy balanced pretty well. What would really help is more visuals and theming of the game because it just seems too generic. The UI has kind of a windows vibe but that doesn't really fit the theme of the game. Also clicking to sell a pack becomes not worth it at all after a while, there should be more upgrades to keep that somewhat worth doing. Other types of side games or combos would help add depth to the gameplay. I think this is a very good framework that could be built out nicely with more assets.

Another thing I noticed, it should save progress in local storage so players can leave and come back, this is a small feature to add that would help a lot with player retention.

Interesting game, i love the roguelike mechanics and feel of sneaking around.  Good presentation and vibe. Still not sure how to play exactly, and once i found it was possible to break through walls, that became too easy and i beat all the levels. I think there is a lot of potential if you can tweak the mechanics and balance.

Hey congrats on your first jam! Everything seems to be working well, just needs more stuff to build it out. I suggest using AI to generate a cool image for the start menu to give better initial impression. Allow the turret to rotate to shoot straight up. Add more enemy variety and upgrades for the player. Looking forward to seeing your next game!

Also, I think maybe Godot is overkill to start with, it could help to have a simpler engine that can iterate faster with AI. I recommend checking out LittleJS. https://github.com/KilledByAPixel/LittleJS

Cool concept! It is well designed and easy to understand how to play. I like that there is a tutorial. Still I felt overwhelmed. It could help to start up the game slower. I felt like there are a lot of numbers that made it tough for me to decide what to do. If an option is not available it should be grayed out instead of just not doing anything when clicked on. Sometimes it is, other times not.

The music is a bit rough but it's a good attempt at procedural music. You might want to use some ai music gen to create something that fits a bit better. The overall presentation could use a little more flare like art style, it is somewhat sterile now.

I really enjoyed how it allowed me to play my game after I shipped it.

Good concept and artwork. I like how you have an image that shows how to play the game. The main menu works well and there are many customization options.

The gameplay is a bit rough and I think what could help is to focus on simplifying and polishing the mechanics. The characters could use a few more frames of animation, and their attach could have a little more power behind it.

Overall I think this is a great start to a smash bros inspired game.
