Hello! I recently completed my first game jam, and now I have a taste for them and would love to compete in another. I was the lead writer on the game Pumpkidex, which was submitted for Patch Mag Jam 2025. My role ended up expanding, so while I wrote the full script for our game, the recipes, and the lore entries, I also integrated some of the assets provided by our artists into new assets for our programmer/coder to use, so his workload was reduced. I understand the very basics of HTML, so I also wrote our game description page. I have nearly eight years of experience as a writer, having started freelancing immediately after my Master's degree (in poetry and screenwriting). At present, I work as a game reviewer and guide writer, and I have another position where I work as a horticulture writer. I am a published poet and essayist.
My preferred game genres are: narrative-driven, cosy/dark cosy, puzzle, RPG, simulation (life, farming, most things, really), management, and exploration.
I'm happy to work on psychological horror, just not hard gore. It freaks me out.
Hoping to find a group to join or other solos that want to team up!

Edit: No longer available for this jam, but absolutely happy to chat about future ones! If you're eyeing up another jam, let me know which one!
In the words of Colette from a certain movie about a rat chef: "It is our job to follow the recipe." Well, that applies here as much as it applies in the movie. The recipes I wrote for this game can absolutely be tweaked, and I do hope that you give them a shot and share any creations you make! Considering we're in fall, our team ran with a seasonal theme, and despite illnesses, studies, and work, we pulled together a game that we're all proud of. We're hoping to continue it and bulk it out to our original specifications, but we hope you enjoy what's there for now and look forward to the changes we make later down the line.
Stay cosy,
Lyssa (Lead Writer)
Good day, everyone. I am a creative and content writer with over six years of experience in the writing & editing industry (as well as a Bachelor of Arts in Creative Writing and a Master of Arts in Poetry and Screenwriting).
I currently work in games journalism, writing game news, guides, and walkthroughs for a variety of video games. I am looking for my first narrative design project to ease myself into this side of the game industry.
@fireboundfox on Discord, LinkedIn on my profile, please do get in touch!
Note: I would love to be involved in any projects being submitted to the Game Jam this August.
Hi Jasmine! I'm a creative writer with six years of experience in the writing and editing industry. I'm looking for my first narrative design role and I would love to be involved in your project. I am AFAB non-binary, just for full disclosure. I'm fine with being referred to as a woman, and I hope being enby doesn't disqualify me from your hiring process :D
