A nice, story based game. There are some things that can be improved, but for a gamejam submission it is good.
Suggestions:
- It is hard to pinpoint the age of our protagonist - he appears to talk like a teenager, but overall visually (and emotionally) gives of a feeling of a pre-teen.
- I think the map could be made a bit more compact.

The issues described will partially be addressed in a patch I will push when review period ends. I do agree should have communicated better that loot respawns.
The difficulty issue is more lack of experience balancing encounters.
I may revisit this game and turn it into a proper game once I get more experienced in Godot.
It is an interesting game and a fun concept. For a week, it is a Herculean achievement!
Suggestions:
- Maybe an in-game clock which can be referenced? (like a normal clock which has an hour, minutes and seconds on it, which I could reference e.g. at 12:02:13 I receive a message about a flare in 60 seconds, and at 12:03:13 it happens. Would still require personal attentiveness without giving explicit timer.
- Make flare resistant rooms solid and without windows. When map got disabled, I could not identify a room.
After listening to the reviews (and feeling that it would be a right thing to do), I prepared a small patch for a game to fix the most annoying issues. I will release it once the gamejam review period is complete.
I do not intend to work on this game any more after the patch, as I am still learning and mastering my skills. Maybe one day I will remake it as a proper game, but it remains to be seen
Very fun and pleasant game. It is atmospheric and has a character (the teddy bear is such a way to immediately tell that we play as a child).
Suggestions:
- None really. Maybe expand the lore/world with interactables (a picture frame here, an opened letter that explains where the parents are and etc)
Thank you for playing my game.
IMO Flood N' Dash should have more people play it.
Regarding the game, I severely overscaled. Originally intended to have few permanent locations with pre-defined loot (so you could go there for a guaranteed heal in the next run, for instance).
Balance is an issue as well, mostly cos I made it too challenging (which is neither bad nor good tbh).
Thank you once more for a detailed review. In next project I will strive to do better (or maybe I shall polish this one... not sure yet)
Rated it!
Here is my game: https://filofej.itch.io/fear-the-storm

It is a good game, especially for the first attempt. I liked it!
Suggestions:
- It was a bit difficult to click on animals, hence maybe increase a collision box for selecting them?
- Either I misunderstood something, but sometimes animals escaped into a building?
- The goal was to actually move them into a building. I, mistakenly, was dragging them to a safe plot of land... hence the confusion!
- Sometimes, I would successfully transport 7/8 animals from danger lands, but the game will state I saved 0/8 animals.
An atmospheric story-telling game. It was nice although it felt that there was a plan for the "storm part", since there is a jumping mechanic present.
Suggestion:
- All of what MrJackphil mentioned.
- Maybe an alternative sound for Continue button?
- And, possibly conversation sounds? (Dont Starve pipe sounds or Animal Crossing chatter). Although it can be an impossible thing to do in a short amount of time
Bureaucratical content can also be "take Form 21Q and fill it in case if it is a sabotage, and include XYZ", and here you go in recreating bureaucratic hell (also a good way to expand and introduce new mechanics/events.
To multiply it... introduce NPCs who need to fillout part of your documents!
Now... imagine coding this into a game D:
Very stressful day... It should be a horror game with the tension it keeps me at!
I liked it, and for a first entry it is a solid game!
Suggestions:
- Modulate a pace a bit... I felt like I was always in the storm and never in calm.
- Maybe add a health bar in a form of a boss getting angrier and angrier, then outright dismissing when his rage reaches maximum?
Thank you for playing and reviewing the game! First time anything made by me was streamed :D
Funny enough, I did code the keeping of active weapon from the previous wave, but I may have broken it when I was scrambling to fix a critical bug.
In regards to the sound, I did hear it getting loud, but I had no idea how to handle multiple repeating sounds at a time.
And totally agree with texts, could fade them 10 seconds after the game.
The issue with rain and HP ball alignment is two-part:
- Still suck with Godot UI elements.
- Intentionally designed it as 1280x720 game (but did not know how to enforce the limit)
Quite an interesting game with a potential. I liked it (Scored 4242).
Suggestions:
- Change tank control to other movement, it would make it more intuitive to drive (except if you intended to make driving harder on purpose).
- Timer or indicator for when customer will disapear - had a sammich tossed at a client who dissapeared a moment later.
- Maybe a map of the city (not a minimap, but a map proper) which user can look onto? Have ended up few times in wrong sectors of the town.
I have developed a game for a gamejam using characters from this pack. Here is a link: https://filofej.itch.io/fear-the-storm
