Hi, thanks for your comment! You can contact us on Instagram or Bluesky and we’ll help you with the puzzle so we don’t give any spoilers here. Best regards.

Thank you so much for your comment!! If you need help solving the puzzle, feel free to contact us through any of our social media like Instagram and we’ll help you privately to avoid spoiling it for others.

We're really happy to know you're looking forward to the full story, we can’t wait to share it.
Best regards!!

Thanks for your words!!

Thank you so much for your comment!!

We're aware of what you mentioned about the dialogues, as well as the possibility that some puzzles could be shorter, but we preferred to leave them that way so players can make full use of each mechanic. Still, your feedback helps us improve, and we'll keep it in mind.

As for the images in the introduction, we can tell you there will be more throughout the game to better represent certain scenes.

We're glad you liked it, and we hope you'll also enjoy the full version once it's released.

Best regards!!

Hi, thanks for your comment!! You actually haven’t reached the end of the demo yet, you still need to deliver the two masks at the stage portal. After that, there’s a special appearance designed exclusively for the demo.

We’re really glad you connected with the characters. As for the aliens, there will be something involving them later on… though it won’t be dancing, haha.

Thank you so much for your kind words, we’re thrilled to hear you enjoyed it!

We're really glad you enjoyed it! Thank you for playing and for your comment!

Hi! Thank you so much for your detailed comment.

We've just noticed the translation error — we'll upload the fix shortly.

As for the puzzle, in theory you shouldn't be able to get stuck in any of them. If you'd like, you can tell us where it happened so we can look into it. Feel free to message us on Discord to avoid spoilers here.

We’d really like you to be able to finish the demo!

Thanks, Beregon, for providing such a quick solution.

It's actually MZ, but we decided to disable mouse input because some puzzles became too complicated that way.
Best regards!

Thank you for playing!! As Beregon mentioned, the game isn’t playable with a mouse — it can be played with a keyboard or a controller. Thanks for the heads-up; we’ve added a clarification on the game page.

The current version includes chapters 1 and 2. For now, this project will have to wait a while. However, we'll be releasing something new soon ;)

We're glad you enjoyed playing The Dark Substance. Thank you so much for taking the time to share your thoughts with us!!

Regarding the faces, we’re planning to add all the expressions in the future.

Thank you again for playing and sharing your thoughts. Best regards! 🙌

Thank you so much for your comment! We’re glad to hear the puzzle feels balanced, and regarding the busts, we’re planning to add more expressions in the future so they aren’t as static. Best regards! :)

Wow, thank you so much for your kind words. We're really glad you enjoyed it so much. Thanks for playing!!

Wow, the aesthetics of this game are really solid. We liked the choice of colors, and especially the busts and illustrations are amazing. Overall, it has quite a dark and eerie aura. We’ve only played the first chapter (due to lack of time to play the other jam games), and the ending left us intrigued. We will definitely finish it, but for now, great job!! :)

We hope you complete it and get to see the real ending. Thanks for playing, and best regards!

Hi, we're glad you liked the game overall, and especially the graphic design.

We have some ideas to expand the game, but we still don't know exactly how we'll go about it.

Most of the sound was made over two afternoons, where we had to record everything, edit, mix, and test it in the game.

All the music was composed by us, as we never use external resources (except plugins). They're simple melodies that never repeat for less than 8 bars, and that's a design choice since it's a really short game. In fact, there are melodies that never get fully heard during the game.

Thanks for your feedback!

Sure! We mean that the different visual elements of the game (like the tilesets, character faces, menus, and illustrations) could feel more unified in style if everything were designed by you. That way, everything would share the same aesthetic, making your game more original compared to others that use RTP. :)

The character faces and scenes added originality, though the game would benefit from having its own graphics and a more cohesive aesthetic. The sound effects contributed to the immersion. The story was interesting and we didn’t expect the true ending. Great job! :)

Zari's story has been quite moving. The character's naturalness and innocence make it easy to connect with her. We now love the word "Borrito", hahaha. The ending really touched our hearts.

As constructive criticism, we would like to point out that the environments felt a bit empty. The overall style is original and we like it, but it would improve by adding more details. We enjoyed it. Great job!

A different game, without a doubt. The aesthetic is really original, creating an uncomfortable and tense atmosphere. And having conversations in the form of battles is quite creative.

SPOILER After talking to Dolly in front of the tree, we encountered a bug. After finishing the conversation and choosing "no chat" with her, we couldn't move Mori anymore. We had to load the last save, and after talking to Dolly again, this time we were able to move and finish the game without any issues.

Overall, we enjoyed it, great job! :)

A short and strange game. It has a creepy atmosphere despite the simplicity of the art. At the Laugh Hotel, we definitely felt like someone with schizophrenia—terrifying!!

We really liked how the crafting system at the workbench and furnace are designed, and it's quite dynamic since you can find different materials all over the map. One thing we missed was an autosave feature because we died and had to start from scratch :( haha we forgot to manually save just in case.

SPOILER Especially at the beginning, it felt too expensive to build and buy equipment, but in the end, we managed to finish the game successfully. Overall, we enjoyed the game and were hooked from the start, though we were left curious about the story and why exactly the vendor dies. Also, the shot jumpscare really got us.

Great job!

P.S. We ended up hating the empty glass bottles hahaha just kidding, but we were always hoping to get something else from the chests.

Thank you so much, we're glad you enjoyed it!! And thanks for taking the time to comment 👍🏻

Oh, ok, the missing word is 'fight'. It's already fixed :)

Thanks for noticing us about it!

We're very happy to read your comment since one of our goals was to give more weight to the narrative, and we see that we've achieved it. Thank you for appreciating it and taking the time to let us know. We'll definitely check out Parasite Flower!

We don't mean that this story would be better if it were shorter, but rather that we would have preferred the effort to be equally divided between the story and the aesthetics to achieve a more cohesive result. However, we understand that being a jam with limited time, you always have to prioritize things. Sorry if it wasn't clear, English isn't our first language haha. 😅

The dialogues were really extensive and deep. We were surprised by how the pieces of the mystery gradually fell into place and how the characters developed through their interactions. We think it would benefit a lot from having original graphics instead of RTP, giving it more identity. In short, a shorter story but with a more personal aesthetic would have made for a more cohesive and immersive experience. Great job!! :)

Hi!! We really liked the art and atmosphere of the game; it reminds us a bit of Fear and Hunger.

SPOILERS

At first, we got stuck after finding the first finger. On the second attempt, we completed the game pretty quickly. The issue was that after interacting with the teddy bear, it didn’t give us the finger, but it worked the second time. The only difference was that the first time we arrived without the lever, which might be related. We believe it would be helpful if the bear gave the finger on the first interaction to avoid confusion.

Then, in the underground section, a character killed us when they got close, and it sent us directly to the menu. It might improve the experience to have a small animation or illustration before sending the player to the menu.

Lastly, some areas were very dark, making it a bit difficult to understand what we were seeing.

Other than that, we really enjoyed it. The atmosphere is captivating, and the game is pretty easy to follow. Congratulations, and we hope to see more of your games soon! :)

We are very happy that you found it so interesting!! The protagonist's name and relationship with Selene are never specified, this was a conscious decision to help the player step into their shoes and give more weight to the girl. Thank you so much for taking the time to give us your feedback, we really appreciate it. :)

Thanks for the gameplay, we enjoyed watching it. :)
