Yeah, def need to do some play testing on this one. Good chance of being too easy to get points, or too hard haha.

I've made a TTS file for another faction I did a for 2024 rootjam, but it's been a while so I'd have to remember how to do it. Wasn't too bad from what I remember though. But should probably get that up sometime.

1. Somehow I had in my mind removing a token doesn't give a VP lol; probably was thinking of Ruling.

I think my intention was to make it where the enemy couldn't just keep attacking it and getting points though. If someone booped it 4 time in their turn, they'd get 5 points currently. Not sure if that is too many to get. Or, if they focused that highly on it, they deserve them anyways.

I like the idea of the enemy getting rewarded hitting it, but didn't want to make it where the best course of action is hunting it down for each players turn.

I could probably be convinced either way, and playtesting would give me a better idea  what is better. In its current form though, it probably should be updated to indicate its 2 VP total (maybe 3) and no more VP after the first hit.

2. I believe the idea of these cards/abilities is that you are basically converting that warrior to the ideas of the other faction.
So, if a Eyrie bird was converted to a Lizard Cult, I think its less they become a Lizard and more they believe in the Lizard Gods (or whatever they believe).

So, it'd make sense to me if they keep the addicted status, as its a change of mind, not body.

(Though if that isn't the idea of the cards/abilities, might need to be the other way)

Yeah, it stemmed from a weird spiral of random thoughts, and here we are haha.

And there probably shouldn't be a way.. but I kept indicating enemy just in case there is ever another faction that can also do this. It's very unnecessary, probably, but I did it just in case.

Pretty neat little story going on!

The images fit really well together; getting them all the same style can be pretty difficult, so good job on that part.

I feel the story has a sorta dark/mystery vibe, and maybe the music could be updated to fit that. Or, have it change based on the scene being shown.

Good job overall

Thanks for the feedback!

Yeah, the camera is still fairly wonky. I probably will streamline it a bit more. I kinda like the dynamic-ness of it, but probably better to make it less... vomity haha.

And yeah, good idea on the "Next Level"; that makes sense.

Funny mention about the story; I was thinking of doing that actually. Didn't get around to it, but I do think it can add to the game for sure.

I'll think about the progression some more. The original idea was to make it sort of "infinite" game, since everything is randomly generated. But, I think giving it that story and actual progression would be nice. I'd have to figure out what's an appropriate amount of levels for each section. Doing 1 Nano level probably would be sufficient really. But, I might add more still (not as a requirement for Micro, but maybe for the story bits).

Eventually adding things like cute cosmetics for beating stages, adding powerups in the level, and maybe even enemies might be in the future.

Thanks again!

Yeah, might need to free up item tokens in some way. While it is good to have more item factions I feel.. it also does bring up the point of.. potentially making others item factions 'useless'. Or, more of.. whoever gets items first will just make the other faction(s) feel bad the rest of the game. Originally that was the idea to free up the items, but probably just made it too... complex before. One issue was how to word Ruin items. Which would probably add 2~3, wordy, sentences.

The idea was... Use the item to build, then it would return to the item track as a gray (facedown) item. Then, "Pray" was a way to unflip it. Gray items would be uncraftable, so it would rely on the Sloths to restore them. It would make them an extremely heavy crafting faction. And I like the idea of it. Probably enough to warrant a whole faction for the idea haha.

And yeah, I'm sure balance will definitely have issues haha.

Thank you for the feedback!

True on the double ruins taking. But also, Vagabond and Rats are the most powerful factions (or so I hear.. I don't really know meta Root), so maybe it works itself out! (Probably not haha).

I was worried about the potential taking items from other factions, but since Rats/Vaga can't take from each other, I figure that was part of the game for item factions. Probably would be a painful game for double Vaga, Rats, and Sloth...

But, other potential ideas would be have the items go back into the pool somehow. I tried that before, but becomes a word mess.

Thanks!

(Have to make sure it's thematic and they /really/ go last :))

I'll go back through sometime and try and clean up the wording; anything in particular that is hard to follow for the sleep stuff? I originally had it where you put sleep tokens on and removed them later, but that was a whole other bag of worms that made less sense haha.

And I figure it would be similar to landmarks. Of course, main issue being usually there is only 1 landmark at a time. So this would be potentially 7 different landmarks (in the form of buildings). So yeah, will see how it goes whenever I can playtest and trim from there.

Thanks!

Yeah, there is some bloat in there for sure. Had to keep whittling it down until I got something... I was able to have enough space to put on the board and (hopefully) not be over complex. The Shrine system could be made simpler, but I didn't want to just have the sleep (skip a phase) be the only thing. But could potentially do something where there are only 3 different types of shrines or something.

Thanks for the feedback!
