Thank you for playing and taking time to write your feedback. The first instruction is activated when you leave the book! If you stay in the book for too long, you will get a strike. But you are right, it is confusing of how i labeled the instruction and I know I didn't explain the rules in a very clear way. I'm already working on the next update that includes the change in book's size and making sure the rules are very clear and coherent! Thank you so much once again for playing and I hope you try the game when the update goes live!

hey! Thank you very much for playing my game and taking the time to leave feedback!
and woah, that is super valid point! thinking about it, the logic i implemented in my game does not make any sense! I'm currently re working the mechanics, waiting for player feedback like yours, and balance to make thosr rules feel much clearer and more fair.
I'm dropping a major v1.1 update in 2 weeks that completely overhauls and fixes this! Hit the Follow button on the page if you want to try the updated version when it goes live.
Huge thanks again for helping me improve the game!!!!
Thanks for letting the admins know, I really appreciate it!
Sorry about the link mix-up and my timeline calculation—just seemed to round it! Here is the correct link to the game page: https://faibagames.itch.io/dont-obey
Thanks again for your help and for taking the time to review this!
Hi moderators,
My account appears to be stuck in a manual moderation time as following;
- Game Indexing: My project has been live for nearly 2 weeks and is still unindexed in search/browse tags: https://faibagames.itch.io//dont_obey. For this specific problem about game indexing, I separately published email(I know i shouldn't have done that) but the request ticket is 387142
- Post Review: A community update post has been stuck under review for over 36 hours. But weirdly it was not even the first post, the second post is the one stuck in review! (I didnt still publish a support email because I dont wanna be labeled as spam!)
- CSS Request: My custom page CSS is also pending approval for days. The request ticket is 386802
I can't say my game has much active plays and comments that is needed for the faster indexing probability but I'm hoping a moderator can help in verify my account status so my project can show up in search and my post can publish.
Thank you!
Thank You Everyone!
A massive thank you to everyone who played, rated, and left feedback on Don't: OBEY during the game jam! Seeing you all jump in, test out the mechanics, and share your thoughts has been an incredible experience.
What's Next? The Big v1.1 Update!
I’ve been reading through all the reviews and feedback, and instead of leaving the game as a quick jam build, I’m taking the next 2 weeks to build a major v1.1 Update to make this project truly complete!
Here is a sneak peek at what’s coming in v1.1:
Story Update- Endings, intro and lore drops
UI & Quality of Life: Enlarged text, improved readability, controls
Dark Mode & Visual Polish: Adding theme controls and polishing the atmospheric for a cleaner and darker aesthetic.
Mechanic & Control Refinements: Smoothing the camera, Revamped the blink system, explanation in book page, and instruction polishing.
Stay tuned over the next two weeks for the update teasers and Thank you once again for all the support, it really means the world to me!!!
Hey man, I wanted to give the game a try, but unfortunately, I hit frame drops and lag that made it really tough to play through properly. Just as a heads-up for performance testing, I'm running an 11th Gen Intel i7 setup, medium end graphics card( which usually handles indie titles very smoothly) and played the download version to make sure I get the highest performance possible. So there might be some heavy performance bottlenecks under the hood like uncompressed textures, high draw calls, or unoptimized physics/scripts running in the loop. Additionally, during my gameplay, I encountered tables, fences and other stuffs positioned in the roof and levitating. I couldn't get far enough to give you a full gameplay review because of the lag, but wanted to let you know so you can optimize it for your next update. Keep it up!
Trazam-dev, thank you so so much for taking the time to write out such detailed and honest feedback. I really needed this for my next update since i want to revamp and polish the game to atleast its quality intended.Hearing that the originality, creativity, and art hit the mark means a lot to me as developing my first ever game was so hard!. The looking mechanics andUI notes especially the blink overlapping with the book reading, font sizes, and dark mode theme are spot on. I'm taking all of this straight into the post jam v1.1 update! Thanks for rating my game and for pointing out where to push the horror and clarity even further. Really really appreciate you!
the art style is so cool and cute, and i really liked the plot and got ending 1 for now but i would try to get them all! a quick question though, is the audio issue only on my side? i saw the music and volume slider but doesn't seem to work!
if you ever have a time, i would appreciate you trying my game and rating it! keep up the great work!
Nice shooter game but the darkness man! i once reached a point where i was playing by only looking at the minimap! but i liked the sound effects and I’d really love to see where you take this project.
and man, if you ever have the time, i would appreciate getting your thoughts on my game, keep up the great work man.
Really loving the art style on the cards and enemy portraits! The gameplay and atmosphere are super solid. Quick question though...is audio currently implemented, or is the missing sound a bug on my end?
and I would love to get your thoughts on my game if you ever have the time to check it out! Keep up the great work.
Oh,hmmm...
I can think of two scenarios...
1)you need to blink(uses left mouse button, it is explained in controls page from the game), and reset your "panic state" which makes your character go "less crazy" .
2) after you look at him and he dissappears, you need to actually go to your leftmost and you will see him staring! And that's when you successfully obey the instruction!
When you mean "game ended", is it a crash or game over screen?
First of all, Thank you very much, I appreciate you trying my game so much! And what instruction are you? Because...*spoilers*
There are three "Major" instructions that are about "looking",
If you have reached "Do not look away from him", look at him and then when he disappears, just try to look around...you will see him!
If you have reached "Do Not let him get close"
You should look(point your mouse cursor) to him and he will move and teleport to different locations, so just point to him fast!
And the last one, "Look Only When he is near" is closing your eyes then you will hear him move, then only look when he is super close!
That's it, I hope it helps!
hey... i'm late and i wanna submit my game, can i?
here is the link of my game!
