Can’t find the first person camera.

The steer control is due to keyboards being digital, 0/1, no in-betweens, so that would need a hacky-fix, I would only try to “fix” this if more players complains about the same thing.

This is why I like Halo Custom Race so much, you can steer “analogically” using your mouse, Euro Truck also do the same. To be honest one of the reasons I started doing gamedev was to make a VR Speed Racer game that you could steer the same way as in Halo. Sorry about this useless comment.

Now that I’m a bit better I’m using boost. I took some driving classes from a friend but I was too scared to pass the 2nd gear, lmao. I liked a lot this keybinding I’m using.

Playing on the keyboard is a bit hard because everything focus on using a gamepad. Couldn’t play the tutorials because the UI is gamepad focused, but decided to play with automatically gear even tho I’m not used to it nor have a driver’s license.

I’m not much into racing games (I do enjoy them, but my favourite one is Halo Reach Custom Race, lmao).

Below are some of my takes about the game, sorted by “importance”:

  • I feel that you should show at all times the times you need to beat each “level” (the bronze/silver/gold thing). Maybe even show their ghosts at all times.

  • I do feel this game will get cooler the better I play

  • It would be cool to be able to import ghosts if you are not planning to have online multiplayer. The ghosts directory only have author/player ghost so I guess it’s hard-coded right now.

  • I feel the game is pretty good for people who enjoy time-attack modes. Not sure how this will translate to actual gamers, tho.

  • What made me want to play this was the Speed Racer, Hotwheels style tracks, but I’m still learning and playing the first track.

  • I feel that a first person camera would be cool, but I’m not sure.

  • I feel I needed more steer control

  • I never used the boost.

This is how I mapped the keyboard:

  • wasd to gas and steer
  • left ctrl/shit to clutch/break
  • space to handbrake
  • numpad numbers to shift gear

Settings:

  • Disabled to respawn in the 1st gear
  • Max graphics

Specs: Linux Fedora 42, 8 GB RAM, i5 4th gen, RX 550 2GB, 1080p. I didnt check the framerate but I’m pretty sure it’s 60 FPS all the time.

Didnt play but from the stream is a cool game. Need some more speed, tho, kek

definitely wouldn’t care for resizing/fitting the game to fullscreen. For that I need a week lol

I think that is easy on love2d. From what I remember it is just a resize = 1 on the love.config or something like that. Not sure if the mouse position follow that config, though.

Tried to play on linux through wine but nothing happens when I try to set my name or press the Start button.

Need more feedback on what is happening. I didnt know I had other guns.
I was clicking outside the screen lots of times.

Besides this the game is a great small jam game.

I just kept running away because it’s impossible to fight. So nothing happened besides me walking and dying.

The game is cool for what it is. A bit hard, needs a save game feature. The action buttons are weird, in one screen they act as a “next” button, in the other the same button acts as “cancel”.

I’m trying to beat it. (beat the first boss the first time but died early on the 2nd level, now i cant beat the boss anymore).

Improved the game balance a bit.

1080p.

I set the system resolution to 720p and the game never dropped below 30fps on the first level, mostly of the time at 35~45 fps.

In the second level it was below 30fps. Mostly of the time about 20 fps.

I’m pretty sure it would run fine (30 fps, 720p (if you write a resolution slider)) with 4 gb ram, similar CPU, and a dedicated GPU with 1 gb vram.

Game runs at 20 fps on my shit computer.

Specs: 4 GB RAM, i3 7020u (4 cores, @ 2.3 GHz), Intel Graphics 620.

The game is running smoothly (60 fps 720p, HDR disabled) on my shit computer (4 GB Ram, i3 7th gen dual core, integrated GPU). If I enable HDR the game runs at 20 fps. During the boss fight on the prologue the FPS dropped to 40 fps average after reaching the max-bullets-particles-thing.

I had to install vc redist 2015 32 bits to run it.

Running badly on my shit computer (4 GB RAM, i3 7th gen, integrated GPU). About 20 FPS during the tutorial.

Maybe adding a resolution slider can help to run on shit computers.

Running fine in my shit computer (4 GB RAM, i3 7th gen dual core, no GPU), not sure about the FPS, tho. If I run riva tuner the screen doesn’t refresh.

Need more video settings such as resolution.

Unplayable in my shit computer 4 gb ram, i3 7th gen dual core, no GPU.

10 FPS.

This is a Playdate game. You need the console or the simulator to play it.

No problem not playing, just wanted my demoday award.
