No, versions on JAST/Itch are the same as Steam. 1.0.2 is a beta that's currently only available for Patrons, once stable it will release as 1.1 on Steam.

Development of the game hasn't stopped, work is currently ongoing for version 1.1.

However, new translations can always be added under the Translations folder next to the game, even if development of the game has stopped.

You'll need to update the nsfw patch as well, but I'll try to make it show a popup that your patch is outdated.

The Steam save location has also changed (files are now under Mado/Hunters instead of EroHunters), once the new version is pushed to Steam it should also automatically update your save location.

It's safe in the sense that it won't crash your game or ruin your save, but some items that don't exist in this version may get lost.

If the Itch version works, but the Steam version doesn't, it's probably due to the extra Steam API stuff. Removing the libgodot and steam_api file would fix it then.

The only thing it does is try to play the game through Steam if it's installed there (and Cloud Saves), so removing it shouldn't impact anything negatively and might get the game to work.

The version here on Itch and on JAST already have support for Linux/Mac. It just takes some more time to put these on Steam.
