I have to say, I'm baffled by your work! It's just so charming, even if on Godot I couldn't keep the Blender Cycles lighting. It's still great, and I'm going to prototype a bit with it.

I wonder about something, but, when you wrote "free to download and use," I would like to know to which extent. Though I don't plan on commercially using it, I'm prototyping in advance for the Game Maker Toolkit jam next month, and I would like to know if it's fine to use the scene for such a context, if I credit you accordingly (on Itch.io as well as in the game's files, or even in a credit menu as well).

Thanks for letting us all enjoy your artistic talent, and I wish you the best! If I'm allowed to share content of your assets, I could even share my prototyping online!

First off, thanks for the reply. I'm a true beginner when it comes to game dev too. I'm open for cooperation, but I don't know if your style corresponds to what I think I'd be going for. You see the style of Yuu Kamiya (NGNL, E.A.r.T.h, Itsuka Tenma no Kuro Usagi), or that of the character artstyle in the ef : a tale of memories / melodies? I'm more into the moe artstyle, is what I wish to convey. I do find your work stunning for what it's going for, nonetheless!

As for image manipulations in Ren'Py, I have to say the GUI and the loading of sprites before text boxes are things I know for sure I'll struggle with. If it comes to that, may I contact you?

Because I learned about the Rainbow Jam a bit late on the Discord of the Yuri Game Jam, I lacked the time to get to know in depth the GUI of Ren'Py. I had in mind to produce a VN with a vertical interface, like Planetarian, but Ren'Py is optimized for a computer 16/9 ratio... Thanks for the pilot and atmosphere review.

Hello, thanks for the sprites. I edited one of them in a project for a game jam, and credited you properly both in game and on Itch.io. Here's the link: https://lolsebca.itch.io/kuro-no-mousou-to-niji-no-yoku.

I only read up to maybe 2 parts of the 1st chapter. I won't spoil anything, but there was a lot of polish both in the graphic aspect and in the execution. The GUI is entirely customized, meanwhile the sounds are perfectly coded and well designed. I read the French version. There wasn't a single mistake, which isn't always the case. I went in the VN reminded of a play I hadn't really enjoyed, but actually the start was rather cheerful. Letting the player know there is some warmth to be found. Well it doesn't exactly start in a "dystopia". So I guess there was a lot of effort behind the work, though it's not really my style.

I am present on the Yuri Game Jam discord under Lolsebca#6116 and am available on Twitter at @Lolsebca too. Once the scenario is done, tell me what moods, at which rhythm and with which instruments you want for how long a piece. If you have no idea for the instruments and rhythms, I'll try to do what I can and improvize, but for moods I'll need them.

Hello, I'm Lolsebca (genderfluid, he/him).

I heard about the Yuri Game Jam after learning about the Yaoi Game Jam, in which I participated. (https://lolsebca.itch.io/touhou-eastern-stored-feelings)

I'm mostly a writer, I even decided to major in theater as a college student for the sake of becoming an author.

But I also try my hands at other crafts, like music (https://soundcloud.com/lolsebca), drawing, singing/voice acting, and game development is a great way for me to use some dimensions of art. I find envisioning every aspect of a narration better to find inspiration.

I just learned a bit of Ren'Py by completing a game by myself.

I want to create a game for the Yuri Game Jam, whose basic pitch is there's this college vehicles (or motors, don't know exactly yet) club in Japan, and the mecha-CGI otaku female protagonist gets to befriend 3-4 girls among the cast. Those 3-4 girls all have their routes, perhaps each a bad end and a good end. Because there are vehicles, I'm hesitating between having assets be drawn or CGI. To get an idea of the scale, I'm thinking of 8k words per good route, and maybe 6k words per bad route, so 56k words at most, for a playtime of 3h? Though it may vary depending on the scenario. As for pricing, I was thinking of a freeware project, therefore there's not really a budget.

If this game project gives you some ideas, I'm looking for people to work together. I can provide: the scenario; the music; the coding; the character designs. I'm mostly looking for visual artists, but if you want to co-write or compose the music, or voice-act or sing an opening song, I'm open for anything. It's really some project I want to give my best, which probably actually isn't a whole lot, but the feeling is there.

If you need a musician at some point for whatever reason, I may be available. I compose on LMMS since 3 years, doing arrangements, original musical pieces, sometimes vocal covers and much more rarely remixes. Here's my SoundCloud: https://soundcloud.com/lolsebca. (The offer is also up for other developers/crews needing help for the jam, or for some prototype or game.)
