I just submitted my game, drop by at embers671.itch.io, it's called DecaByte!
I'd appreciate you honest feedback, and as always, Thanks in advance!
Hey, I made a puzzle game's demo for this jam, and after shipping it my first playtesters told me it was difficult to solve the puzzle,. It was half intentional on my part, games like Aria's Story, The Midnight Train and Paper Lily dont give hints outright to keep the players focus on the game rather than making it 'easy'.
So I wanted to ask, should I add a Spoilers section on my itch.io page that lets voters play the game if they get stuck??
As the deadline nears, I'd appreciate a response sooner than later.
Thanks in advance!
If I upload a demo for this jam, can I upload a finished version of the game in the future?
Also, if the demo is a vertical slice, is it okay if some content shown in the demo is removed or changed in the full release? I'm making a story-driven game, so some ideas may evolve during development.
Thanks!
Hi, for all those who started late or still don't have an asset pack for their submission, you can use this one for your game as a base, it's free. I made it for my submission but for some reasons I cannot continue work on it.
If any of you do use it, feel free to customize as you wish, it might be pretty bland, but I hope it's good enough for a base. It has basic level building blocks, and a rigged UV'd character. More about the asset-pack on it's page, link down below.
Note: According to the jam's rules, this asset pack was made during the jam duration
Hi, I'm a beginner coder and decided to take part in this jam as my very first. I have a plan in mind, but reading the rules and guide, I couldn't find instructions about the final game format, should it be an exe, an html game, or apk.
I'm also confused about the type of game (2D / 3D) and whether it was defined anywhere or not (couldn't find specific rules, sorry). The plan I have in mind is 3D.
Thanks for replying.
