The original plan was to do a target of 10 waves followed by an end screen, and include platforming and tutorials as well. Perhaps even a boss! But there's only so much high quality, smoothly animated art you can make in 2 weeks, unfortunately.
We scrapped platforming and tutorials despite having their assets due to issues in our development/coding part of the game where there were lots of issues with AI. Therefore, we went for a more "well executed, less content" approach.
Ah yes, another game starring a school-age protagonist with punchy skills, glasses that shoot lasers and an ultimate that makes you go "ZAAA WAAAARUDOOOOOOO" xD
In all seriousness though, this game is amazing! Such high quality and such good polish on the end product. LOVE the manga style shading on the backgrounds, the anime inspired designs, the robust gameplay and responsive controls. The music was also very fitting! Instant classic
Ah, I'm glad someone noticed that! xD I've put a couple of easter eggs here and there around the level and in the main menu (very obvious pepe). I tried to make each pair of glasses look unique and different, and the animations feel as smooth as possible to the player's eyes.
And yes, the music tracks are both certified bangers, our audio director went all out on that! The bit about having "landing punch sfx" is possibly our most repeated critique! We'll make sure to include it in future projects!
I'm very glad you enjoyed our game! Thank you :D
Glad you like the game man! Believe it or not, the visuals of the game all share a 32-bit art style, and our developer did his best to translate that in Unity.
Granted, one UI element was acting especially strange during implementation, but as far as I'm concerned the in-game assets all use a similar visual style, with the single exception being the dithered evening sky (cause who doesn't love a dithered evening sky)
This is quite fun! As an artist, I'm a sucker for charming low poly games like this one. Music is very nice, quite funky! Only issue is the incredible increase in difficulty on the second level, and the fact that after punching, you rotate to the right and offset the direction you were pointing at.
Otherwise, love this! Very responsive controls and fun gameplay
