ReliWorld 0.1.3 — The menu finally feels alive

Okay so 0.1.2b was all about fixing the boring stuff (yes the itch indexing bug, yes the cover being too dark). For 0.1.3 I wanted the game to feel like a world before you even hit play.

What’s new:

Cinematic Main Menu Background I scrapped the static image. Now when you open the game it does a full fly-through of a fresh generated world. It’s random every time you open the menu, so you’re literally watching a world you could spawn into. I caught myself just watching it for 10 minutes instead of actually testing builds. caves that actually feel like caves — not just big holes, but tunnels you can get lost in Rain, Clouds, and Sun Added a proper sky. Clouds actually drift, the sun moves, and when it rains it hits the bamboo and ponds. The rain sound is super simple right now but it makes the jungle feel way less empty. Building a little hut while it’s raining hits different.

Real Animals This is the big one for me. No more dead world. Added actual animals that wander around They’re dumb as rocks right now, they just walk around and get stuck on trees, but it’s the first time the world felt alive. I’m gonna make them interact with builds next.

I know I said I wanted to stop pushing just “jungle” and focus on building and crafting — that’s still the core. But building feels pointless in a dead world. Now when you build near that pond, you have rain, sun moving Feels like a place you actually want to build in. https://elementalgaming.itch.io/world

v0.1.2 — Caves, Ores & Full Retexture

v0.1.2 biggest update so far for ReliWorld.

Underground used to be just solid dirt. Now there’s actually a reason to go down there.

What’s new:

  1. Caves

Natural cave systems now generate underground Entrances spawn on hillsides and around the world Way better for exploring, no more straight-down digging only

  2. Ores

2 new ores: Iron And Coal Iron is in the caves to find along with coal https://elementalgaming.itch.io/world
