Yes, but I ran out of money 😅

It is half way there, the core of the game is working, it just needs a menu, tutorials, dialogs, music, sfx, savedata…

So, kinda the other half that is not the game 😅

Fun fact: The C# core game is working.

Not so fun fact: I lost on the two lasts room. I ran from a monster I couldn’t kill and landed on another I couldn’t kill. 🥲

This is the moment where the impending doom settled. impending doom.png

Now it’s a matter of making the rest of the game :P

For the record.

  • I ran before, so I can’t run again.
  • I do have a strong weapon, but a weak monster on top so I can’t use it.
  • The strongest weapon in the room still forces me to take 1 hp damage 🥲)

I am sorry, this was made in haxeflixel in a time where I didn’t use git 😅

I’m afraid the original haxe code is lost forever 🥲

Because I messed up the implementation. Or maybe I wanted to make an easy mode?

(I definetely messed up the implementation)

I made this game in 2012 when I finished highschool. That’s 13 years ago! I am now a full time game developer, I’ve been for the last 8+ years!

I could remake this… I don’t promise anything, but I will try 😅

I’m guessing the answer is yes, but I wanted to check and maybe get some insights.

Most game dev courses are sold on DRM-heavy platforms like Udemy, but I’d prefer to sell my content somewhere that aligns better with the direction I would like game development to strive towards (DRM Free).

Itch already is the house for game devs, beginners, indies and not so indies alike; so I was considering offering my courses here. The content would include videos, text materials, and project source code.

Possible Risks:

  • File size for videos – Most courses don’t need 4K ultra-high-res footage, so this shouldn’t be a huge issue.
  • File size for projects (Mostly Unreal Engine) – But then again, built Unreal Engine games are also massive, so this isn’t out of the ordinary.
  • No streaming option for videos – Since Itch is DRM-free, users would get a direct download link instead of a built-in streaming player. Personally, I see this as a plus—I like watching courses at 3x or 4x speed, and streaming often struggles to keep up.

So…

Would this be allowed? Should I list them under Assets, Tools, or just Other?

(Side thought: Maybe this is a category/tag waiting to exist?)

Neither FBX nor any Skeletal mesh are inside the download 😢 Can you provide at least a static mesh in T pose to try to load into mixamo or something?

Just that, will we have a theme?

Hey, the sun shader says I am missing a graph. What did that do?

(it's the one with the small red cross, a bit to the left and up of the middle of the screen)

BTW: Awesome shaders bro!

Oh, I had a plastic spirograph when I was a kid, I had the big cog, the small cog and several holes in the small cog to put my pen. Pen radius was the most intuitive for me. ^-^'

Where did you get the gameboy color frame for the screenshots? Can you share it?

Is there any hopes of at least 1 character having 4 extra animations (up, down, left and right)  for aiming and firing a gun? Maybe both arms forward like the zombie animation? Just a tought :)

Must... give... money.... to.... enigma....
