Thank you for playing my game! I appreciate you powering through the darkness in order to provide me feedback. I hope you had an overall positive experience with my game. Thank you for sharing!

If you are interested, I just released v1.2.1 that sorts out the lighting in a way that I think still preserves the mood. Give it a try if you have the time and want to see a better version of the vision I had for the game!

Thank you for reviewing my game! I am glad you liked my models. The ship was made in blender in about 30 seconds because I was going to come back to it later but ran out of time. I am glad I could bring back feelings of a simpler time. Thank you for sharing!

Thank you for reviewing my game! I was definitely trying to have a unique concept so I am glad it stood out to you. The controls definitely take a minute to get a handle on since I was shooting for something a little clunky to make getting around threats a little more nerve wracking. I hope you had an overall positive experience with my game. Thank you for sharing!

Thank you for reviewing my game! It sounds like my design did not resonate with you and that’s all good. Concepts like the floaty controls during the beginning and the length of the dialogue were intentional design choices and I understand that those things do not work for everyone. The extent of the darkness was definitely not intentional. I was shooting for a gloomy atmosphere but balanced it in the middle of the night in a dark room, so that one is 100% a mistake I made. I appreciate you powering through the parts you did not like in order to review my game and appreciate the thoroughness with which you described your experience. I hope you had an overall good time with my game. Thank you for sharing!

Thank you for reviewing my game! I appreciate you toughing it out through the dark visuals to play my game and I am glad it resonated with you. I hope you had an overall positive experience with my game. Thank you for sharing!

Thank you for reviewing my game! I appreciate you toughing it out through the quirks of the browser player to play my game. I have since added a disclaimer to prioritize the download versions to hopefully avoid any issues like this in the future! I appreciate your words and hope you had an overall positive experience with my game. Thank you for sharing!

I apologize if my words came off as anything other than amusement. It was nice to have a "muahaha" mustache-twirling kind of death/killing experience to even out games like my own where I tried to get all fancy with the metaphors. No bad-mouthing coming from me!

Super neat game! I like the concept of power-ups coming from different deaths. The only critique I had was with the dashing. In my experience, it only fired off about 50% of the time, leading me to fall into a spike pit. Then I would get stuck in a death cycle of trying to get the dash power up from the spear launcher again only to get killed the moment I touched the ground due to a spear being fired as I was dropping. That was as far as I got before my timer with this game was up. My frustrations could just be from me being bad at platformers, though, so take my critique with a grain of salt. You should be proud of what you have made here and overall I had a positive experience. Thank you for sharing your game with the world!

Loved it. Super on the nose, but sometimes in order to get the theme across you just gotta kill someone with a pencil instead of some kind of metaphor. You should be proud of what you have made here. Thank you for sharing your game with the world!

Thank you for the review! I definitely found it fun throughout development to just kind of stop what I was doing and fly around for a bit. Very relaxing. Thank you for sharing!

Thank you for reviewing my game! Yes, the lighting was done horribly for this one. I wanted a moody atmosphere but absolutely scuffed the lighting by doing my visuals in the middle of the night with my max brightness monitor. I really appreciate you toughing it out to give my game a review and I have some updates ready to push once the voting time is up. I hope you had an overall positive experience with my game. Thank you for sharing!

This was a really neat experience! Spawning items from the list was a unique touch I have not seen yet. I had some graphical issues while playing but what jam game doesn't have some of that goodness? I am not sure if I missed it, but I was having a hard time connecting the theme to the gameplay, but that might just be me. You should be proud of the unique concept you pulled together in this jam. Thank you for sharing your game with the world!

That definitely works. I had trouble coming up with a concept myself and almost went with something random just to turn something in before I landed on the concept for my game. I think you killed it, theme or not!

I have played a couple games now that used death to give the player some additional traversal options and I have yet to grow tired of it, especially considering that same concept was almost the one I went with, too. While the overall loop was pretty simple and I cannot say I ever felt challenged, I think it would only take a little more improvement to get a Doom style shooter out of this game. You should be proud of what you have made here! Thank you for sharing your game with the world.

I love me a good horror-flavored visual novel and this one did not disappoint. The oppressive storm was 100% an excellent choice for the vibe you were going for. Although I died to the river in both of my playthroughs before my time was up, I was definitely wanting to hang around longer to discover more. I can see myself coming back to this after the jam to play it all the way through. You should be proud of this! Thank you for sharing your game with the world.

Awesome game! I have not played a text based game this entire jam so it was a welcome breath of fresh air. I somehow managed to soft-lock myself at the sink and then ran out of the time I had allotted for this game, so I did not get the full experience of how the theme was implemented. Your team should be proud of what they made, though, this was a fantastic experience. Thank you for sharing your game with the world!

I had a good time with this one. Rhythm games were never my forte, so I got smoked several times, but quickly learned that was part of the game. Using the respawn mechanic as the way to introduce the upgrade screen was very rogue-like and I can appreciate that and see the theme there. You should be proud of what you accomplished. Thank you for sharing your game with the world!

This was giving me visions of Act 2 in Inscryption and I loved what I was seeing. Unfortunately, the only version I could successfully download and run was the base version without the bug fix and I promptly soft-locked myself. Definitely not letting that hold back my impression of this game, though, since the art was oozing with style. Excellent work! Thank you for sharing your game with the world!

I like the style of the game and I always love a good "gardening" game. I had some trouble trying to tie the theme to the gameplay or story, though, since it seemed like the theme was loosely interpreted into the respawn mechanic beyond a tongue and cheek reference in the opening monologue. That could entirely be a matter of taste, though, so please take my feedback with a grain of salt. I can definitely tell you put a lot of work into your game to get it looking and feeling the way it does and I can for sure respect that. Thank you for sharing your game with the world!

Thank you for reviewing my game! Ah, the intricacies of browser gaming strike again. If I had known that I would eventually do a browser build, I definitely would have re-thought the controls. Thank you for taking the time to play my game and sharing your thoughts!

Thank you for reviewing my game! Don't worry, it was definitely not just your monitor. I shot for moody and ended up with near pitch black. I appreciate you powering through the darkness to give my game a chance. I hope you had an overall positive experience with my game. Thank you for sharing!

Thank you for reviewing my game! I definitely appreciate the feedback about the lighting. I balanced the visuals in the middle of the night in a dark room and thought nothing of it because I am clearly a genius. I am thankful that you powered through the visual issues to play and review my game. I hope you had an overall positive experience with my game!

As for the protagonist's crimes... that is a very good question I may have to answer with a future update. Who knows?

This game was a fun little beat 'em up that reminded me of playing Double Dragon on my NES. I don't know if it was just me, but I was having a hard time finding the theme. I think it was the death of the player allowing a doppelgänger to spawn? That is fine, though, since it was oozing with style and was definitely much easier on the eyes than my game. Thank you for sharing your game with the world!

I apologize that I could not get an ending with the amount of time I had allotted to play each title, but this one is a charming little game. The music was fun and the art was charming. I wish I had more time to play it, so I will probably come back after the jam and give it another whirl. Thank you for sharing your game with the world!

Thank you for reviewing my game! I apologize for the poor experience due to the lighting. I definitely make some mistakes when doing the lighting pass for the game by doing it in the pitch black of the goblin cave I program in. I appreciate you sticking with it long enough to provide me with feedback. I hope your experience with my game was an overall positive one. Thank you for sharing!

Well, dang. I did not think that a game jam game could hit me right in the feelings. You played it straight and pulled off some real emotional catharsis with your interpretation of the theme. Thank you for sharing this game with the world!

For feedback, there were really only two critiques I could find. The tone of the opening cutscene played it dead straight and to transition into the game to see "Mini-games Completed: 0/5" after talking about making the best of the time I have left was a touch jarring. Just some verbiage about "Tasks Left" or something I think would make the theming more consistent. The second was just a simple bug related to the GameJoy. I think the code for that game runs in the background as I put it down at one point and accidentally pressed one of the WASD inputs. I put my invisible ship into a death loop and the screen kept shaking while I was playing the rest of the game. Super minor, but I thought you might want to know as the developer. Excellent work!

Thank you for the review! I agree, my game definitely suffered from not having a clear way to navigate. That is definitely a ding against me. I do like the thought of other celestial bodies to dot the area. Maybe if I can get a procedural version of the game working, that could definitely be a stretch goal. I hope you had an overall positive experience with my game and I appreciate you taking the time to review it!

Thank you for reviewing my game!

Your story concept sounds really cool! I am glad I did not accidentally steal it from you because it sounds like you have a really good handle on the universe you are working with. I definitely enjoyed writing the dry wit of the Onboarding Assistant.

I am glad you enjoyed the gameplay loop and controls. I had not thought of an auto-dampener, much like Space Engineers, but that makes a ton of sense! I will have to add it to my roadmap. I agree that gamepad support would also be a good milestone, I am just super bad at gamepad support, but I can give it a crack.

I hope you had an overall positive experience with my game and I appreciate you taking the time to share your thoughts!

Thank you for reviewing my game! I admit I did not dress this one up to well so it definitely did not stand out from the crowd. I appreciate you giving it a chance in spite of the poor first impression. Thank you for sharing!

No problem!

From what I remember, it was not immediately clear how to get coffee. I lost the first run to everyone eventually cycling around to needing coffee and me not knowing how to serve it. A text prompt for "Prep Coffee" or something like that would go a long way.

The presence of "No Spiders Detected" on the bottom of the screen was initially a bit jarring because I did not even know they were a threat. After they appeared, I ran over to one and lost another game while standing next to them and mashing my keyboard trying to find a key that would kill them. Some kind of visual indicator that a jump is needed to kill them or a tutorial would also fix this super easy.

This last one is more of a nitpick than anything, but I was initially confused by the fire holes and how they lit up. After running around for a minute with two stacks of books, I eventually got frustrated and was mashing the interact key only to find out I was burning them one at a time. This could also be due to the fact that my games had very inconsistent audio. Some interactions made sound while others were completely silent. The burning interaction was silent for me, so aside from scrutinizing the handful of pixels for the books I was holding, there was no indicator to me that I was burning books until I had cleared a stack out of my hands. If there is normally audio for this, that would definitely help.

I hope my feedback was helpful. I do not want you to be discouraged by the experience I had as it was all super simple stuff that a day or two of spit-shining would fix.

Thank you for reviewing my game! I have never seen Mickey 17, so it sounds like I have some homework! If you really liked what you saw, check back here when voting is over and I will have the updated version posted that fixes the brightness and adds some quality of life changes. I appreciate you powering through the issues, though, and reviewing my game. I hope you had an overall positive experience with my game. Thank you for sharing!

Thank you for reviewing my game! I appreciate your honest feedback on your experience with the issues in my game like brightness. Mistakes were definitely made with this one. I am thankful that you powered through the issues and took the time to play and review my game. Thank you for sharing!

Thank you for your review! I appreciate the point you made about the visual and I 100% agree. The brightness was a major issue with this project, and I am entirely at fault for that. I appreciate you taking the time to power through it anyways and I am glad you enjoyed the writing. I hope that you had an overall positive experience with my game. Thank you for taking the time to play and review my game!

Don't sweat it! I could see the vision from your page description and what I could play of the game before my time was up. You have nothing to feel bad about.

Thank you for the review! Yes, the brightness is definitely holding my game back and I already have a fix built and ready to go, but I cannot push it during voting time for obvious reasons! I really appreciate you sticking it out through the issues for your review. I appreciate your words and definitely have some plans for this game after I recover from this jam for a bit. Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts!

Thank you for taking time to review my game! I really appreciate your feedback.

The issues regarding the purchase price are a super fair point. The upgrade pricing was worked on maybe five minutes of the whole jam, so that is on me for sure and it is definitely on the list of features to revisit for future updates.

The darkness issues is certainly a chronic one with this game. I appreciate your feedback and already have a version waiting in the wings with better lighting for when the voting time is over, so I definitely get the frustration there. Thank you for powering through it for this review.

I also liked the doing the writing and like things like the directional pointer and warning indicator. It is definitely the smaller things like dialogue and player quality of life additions that can get left on the table at events like this, so I was proud to have been able to include them.

Thank you for taking time to review my game and provide me feedback!

Thank you for the review! I really appreciated watching your gameplay in real time on your stream. I think you did an excellent job taking my game to task and showing me the pitfalls of my design. I am glad that you had a positive experience with my game in spite of the brightness issues. Thank you for taking time to share your thoughts!

This hit me right in the nostalgia. GBA is one of, if not my favorite consoles of all time and this game was hitting all the right vibes. The biggest critiques I can think of would be to up the movement speed to give it a more solid "arcade" vibe that it seems to be going for, in addition to some way to remember which potion is needed for what since I immediately forgot and cooked myself. Overall, great work! Thank you for sharing your game with the world!

Super basic concept executed in a very cute way. I encountered some mildly frustrating collision issues, but the lives were lenient enough that I did not immediately game over. Plus, in instances where I died, I ended up just using the "ghost time" to explore the area a bit and maybe take a stab at a puzzle. I can see this going somewhere with maybe some kind of additional movement tech or enemies (I may have missed them, I did not have a ton of time). Overall, solid work! Thank you for sharing your project with the world.

Fun game with a nice visual style. I could not tell if I was doing something wrong or if progression was slow as I was not able to complete a round before my timer with the game ran out. I thought I soft-locked myself at one point but found out after reloading that it was just my misunderstanding what I needed to do. I can 100% see that being sorted out with a solid tutorial, though. Thank you for sharing your work with the world!
