The story is very compelling and the art scattered throughout definitely adds to each of the scenes! I am definitely interested in finding out who the killer is and figuring out the mystery. Also, I love all of your music choices. They really enhance the time period and mood of your game's scenes. The couple critiques I have are that there are some spelling errors throughout (in some cases the words are spelled right but aren't the right word if that makes sense like a word that sounds like the intended word will be there instead) but that can be fixed with a simple once over. In addition, the red text is a little hard to see but I think all you would need to do to fix that is make it the same boldness as the text that surrounds it.  I'd also agree with the comment that mentioned breaking up some of the passages so that they're easier to read.  Overall great work!

This is such an amazing improvement upon the original game! The story is much more compelling and really gives the player a reason to want to do well in the maze. Also the addition of being able to pick your role and teammates roles adds such an interesting aspect to the gameplay and the new art does a great job of helping the player be immersed in the story.  The only thing I could say that should maybe be added is a play again button for when you die because I was a little confused when I got a to be continued screen and couldn't get out of it without pressing my browser's back button. But overall great game!

I love that you added sounds into yours that was such a good idea! The music fits the vibe of the game really well. The animation is really nice as well. The only thing I would suggest adding is maybe some user interface that shows how many of the wispy orbs the player has collected. Great work!

This game is so freaking cute and the pixel art is beautiful. The animations for the sprite are also very well done. The gameplay is very easy to understand but not too easy that the player doesn't feel challenged. I feel bad that I don't really have any suggestions for stuff to add... the game is just so good.

The sprite animation is really nice! I also like the simple black and white aesthetic for the game. The only suggestion I would make would be to add a user interface where the player can see their health so they know how much they need to avoid the bats.

They way you've done your pixel art for the player, platforms, and backgrounds is really nice! I also love that you've put more than one level. One thing I would suggest would be maybe adding a user interface that shows what items the player is collecting like an inventory on the side or something. Nice work!

The art and functions all work really well! but the jump might be a little too low? When trying to play the level, the character isn't able to jump high enough to get on top of the fourth platform and he's too tall to go down onto the fifth one. I was able to get up there once but its very difficult and I'm not sure what I did differently to get it to work. So editing either the jump height/strength or the location of the platforms would easily fix this problem and then the game would work smoother (all of the other mechanics seem to be working fine).

It was such a cool concept. Normally a player's instinct would be to run away from the monster at the door so its really interesting that they actually have to let the monster in the house in order to get out. I love the illustrations maybe add some scratching sounds so the monster seems even more scary and makes the player want to avoid it even more?

It's cool that you used different text colors for different moods. Definitely engaging, nice work. You talk about sound in your descriptions but don't add it in your game so that would be the one thing maybe to add if you wanted to but its not really super necessary because your descriptions of the noise are very well written.

As others have said, this is a really cool idea and would be even better with illustrations. I also think you should link a play again to each ending so that it's easy to get back to the beginning and the player doesn't have to press the back arrow a bunch.  I like that you have a different transition depending on the mood of the next scene that was very interesting.

I love the way you combined photos with illustrated characters and the characters were so cute! It was such an interesting concept as well and the way you phrased the questions and gave multiple answers for the every question was really good for making sure the player could play the way they wanted to despite being dictated by the game. Nice work. I think one of the images didn't link but I assume that's just cause its still WIP

This game was so cute and fun to play. I like the idea of a reputation stat, I never would have thought to do that. Like the others have said, I do wish that I could see the characters so if you have the chance, definitely add illustrations in the future.

Its so cool that you did your writing in the passed tense. I never would have thought to do that. And I agree with what the others have said about adding illustrations to add more atmosphere and adding more options so the player feels like they have more control over the story.

This game is so well put together! The combination of the theming you've done with your illustrations is perfect and the different game mechanics to be kept track of make it so much fun to play. I really felt the need to be careful of what I chose while walking through the maze with the teammates. Nice work!

Like the others are saying, the image didn't work for me but the story was great! I loved the mystical feel of the writing/dialogue and it would be really interesting to see that reflected some way through the text styling or by adding illustrations/sound.

The language you use to describe everything that is happening is really nice! I also enjoy the theming you've used to play on that minecraft location and feel. You could add some classic minecraft sounds to boost that if you wanted to. Especially at times when the player is supposed to take damage or dies. However, I do feel like it's a little too much minecraft and not enough of you. If that makes sense? Maybe if you illustrated the places in the nether and the characters in your own art style that would bring a little bit more of your personal touch to the game.

I agree with them that sound would be so cool here and add even more tension. I also love the contrast you have with the warm tones in the character and the cool, dull tones everywhere else. It really makes the character stand out.  I'm also gonna borrow from what they said as a comment on my game and say maybe add a "play again" option at the end of each ending so that going back and trying to get the different endings is easier.

I played this through a couple times (I died the first time). I really like the creepy vibes you have with the audio and the story is really compelling. The only suggestions I have is to maybe maybe have the heavy breathing go on for longer in the passage where the player dies? It would be more scary and stressful to read the final paragraph while it was playing still. Also maybe add a gif of some part of the creature there as well like you have of the ranger banging on  the window.
