Hi everyone!
For the past 6 months, I’ve been working solo on a project that is very personal to me. Today, I’ve finally released Everything is Like with People.
It is a short, atmospheric Lo-Fi horror game that explores the grim reality of domestic violence through surreal metaphors.
The Story:
You play as a woman living in a state of imaginary poverty. A family dinner is coming up, but the table is empty. You must venture out into the hostile, dark streets to find a way to "fix" your home and your life before "they" return.
The Gameplay:
- A Midnight Run: Journey through the city to the only shop open to buy whatever food you can find.
- A Surrogate for Well-being: Purchase a piece of cheap, rotten meat — the only thing you can afford.
- Patch the Holes: Return home, where the walls are literally falling apart from screams and trauma. You must use this meat as a patch to cover the holes in your life and create an illusion of order before the family returns.
I wanted to portray the desperate attempt to maintain a facade of "normalcy" when everything is shattered inside.
