Tried out the skins, and I really like the Solar Flare one! It gave the game a whole new feel with the warm colours.

I'll check it out once I'm home from university today!

The game is officially released!

Read the full devlog

You no longer have to fear game-breaking bugs, missing dialogues or glitches in the game :D

Thanks a lot! Have a great day :)

I love the game! Brilliant idea and excellently designed! Probably my favourite in the whole jam.

Apart from that, this is probably the strangest comment you will get, but one dev to another, could you tell me how you got the "PSX (PlayStation)" tag on your project? I've tried writing it into my own, even copy-pasting it, but itch.io auto formats it to "psx-playstation" for some reason... And that category contains only 58 games as opposed to the thousands of games using the one you are... I would really appreciate some assistance here :)

Thanks to your detailed bug report, all bugs have now been solved!

I am eternally grateful to you people who take time to describe the issues you're having so that I can quickly push hotfixes! You saved my day <3

I also have to mention that there aren't supposed to be any children or parents on the last (fourth) day, and on the third day Christina is supposed to be missing... I'm having some troubles with the game engine resetting all my data assets all the time...

I'm sorry you didn't get the full experience of the game!

But I'm looking much forward to seeing the video! Unfortunate that you got these bugs though...

Damn, that really sucks! I fixed those bugs a day ago...

I second this. Game idea is absolutely brilliant, but the AI art really puts me off...

This game seems exceptionally well made so far! I love how much detail there is, and how much customisability it gives the player! I'd love to see this game in full-scale.

Gives me Fruit Ninja vibes! I love the crisp animations when you slice the polygons. This game really has potential and I'm looking forward to seeing it expanded :)

I absolutely love the art style! Gives me real nostalgia for some reason.

And for those who are interested, here are all devlogs so far, the most recent one being the last:

  1.  Going forward with 4 Days of Easter
  2. Critical Update (and annoncement!)
  3. You can now pet bugs!
  4. CRITICAL HOTFIX
  5. CLARITY UPDATE
  6. MORE BUGS (content update)

In 4 Days of Eastrer you’re a child huntning eggs in the Easter, though not voluntarily. Each day, you get a new chance to find 10 eggs and win the great prize, but are you able to do it

There are less and less children for each day, and you hear whispers of a “real” Easter Bunny… Will you find out what’s going on in this park?

The game features quirky characters with goofy dialogues, a somewhat rich but simple story about a child with struggles, a challenging Easter Egg hunt, some mild jumpscares, and just the right feeling to get you in a spring mood!

It’s being updated frequently, and will recieve content updates for the rest of the month, so stay tuned! Devlogs are written for every update, and some time next month we will publish a "The Making of 4 Days of Easter" for those of you who wish to make games but don't know how to do it on your own :)

https://dude-loe.itch.io/4-days-of-easter

This game was made without any generative AI.
All assets in this game are made from the ground up as a work of art from the hearts of the two designers of this game. In time we'll post a series of devlogs showing how YOU can make your own unique games all on your own, like we've done

More bugs, you say?

That's right! More bugs have been introduced to the game, but not the kind that breaks your game and ruins your day, just another annoying insect! (that still will ruin your day)

Thanks a lot for he solid bug report! Had it not eben for your comment I would have been completely lost as to what caused these issues in the first place... But now (thanks to you) I have uploaded a hotfix and the problems should all be solved! Thank you so much!

I apologise for that! I input the wrong variable and deleted the entire game instance upon entering day 2... Thanks a lot for making me aware of it! It's all in order now and the game is being packaged and uploaded this very moment.

For those who are interested, I have now added a linux-playable version, but it cannot load more than the main menu on my linux computer, so I must apologise if it doesn't work for any of you either.

I will be focusing more energy on content updates the next weeks, and will not be updating or fixing the linux version, so if possible, I would suggest trying to emulate the windows version instead, for those of you it concerns.

Thanks for reading!

Another update has been added! See the latest devlog for details :D

The CLARITY UPDATE

Brilliant game idea!

That really means a lot to us! The game was hard work and a lot of love was poured into the creation of it :)

I've not had time to implement the climbing ability, unfortunately, but if you do find any eggs you struggle to click or need to get from weird angles, I suggest switching to first-person mode (by scrolling upwards until the camera snaps into place)

This can make it slightly easier to access eggs and dialogues, as well as giving a move immersive (though less stylised) experience of the game.

It is undoubtedly more terrifying in first person.

I am so sorry for the continued errors! I just noticed it a moment ago and I'm uploading a hotfix this very moment :)

I have also improved a lot and added new features in this update!

You can now pet Lucy's bugs!

If this wasn't a "good friday" already, it surely is now ;)

I can't believe I got out, that was terrifying

But I had some problems with the bunny getting stuck in some doors, making it impossible to get past :/

Absolutely horrifying though! Good game!

Is this game finished? Upon getting all the eggs, the force field in the middle went away, but absolutely nothing happened when I stepped into it! Also, two of the eggs had the same dialogue as their previous eggs.

Apart from that it was a decent game with a good scare!

Understandable! I too had to compromise in my submission.

I must admit I had a good laugh when I translated your comment, but please keep it civil :)

Regarding your issue I must apologise a lot for the issues you had though! It was not our intention to cause that much frustration, though we did intend it to be a slightly annoying game.

We would love to see your stream if your recorded it though! Then we could see what it is that frustrated you so much, and perhaps use it as a feedback to improve the game? It's hard for us to know exactly where it is things went wrong.

We also always love seeing other people play our games, so we would love to see your livestream even though it caused you such frustration :D

Truly a hidden gem of a horror game! The strategy part of the game caught me by surprise but was more than welcome!

This game is both an excellent jam submission, as well as a delightful game on its own!

100% recommended!

This game caught me totally by surprise! The first jumpscare had me pissing my pants, but what happened next wasn't at all expected! By far one of the best games among the submissions! This game was creative of the very highest degree and implemented all challenges BEAUTIFULLY!

Love the game idea and the art style! It was also surprisingly scary at times. Well done!

I still wonder though, is the ending a bug or just not polished yet? It ended with the dialogue "you escaped, but HE is back". And no ending screen or quit button or anything.

Won't start.

It is a temporary solution though, and I am currently working on the climbing mechanic! I will make additional spawn points and trees for that update :)

(1 edit)

I must apologise for the frustration it might have caused, but I have now added a SECOND update and can say 100% that you won't be having the same problem again :)

I temporarily solved it by simply moving the egg spawn to the ground instead of in the upper tree branch:

Thanks a lot for checking it out! I'll get to working on the climbing soon!

A patch has been uploaded! In some cases, the eggs in the northern tree would be completely inaccessible, but is now fixed.

That's actually a great idea! I'll put that on my to-do list right away!

I love you too man
