Yeah… that’s an interesting effect that just fell out of how we implemented the wheel physics. The way it is now, you need to be careful where you apply motivation to not get the cat too high on the wheel. Like you found, once the cat starts running loops around the wheel, the wheel barely moves, but the cat still consumes plenty of energy. Not sure the game warrant that complexity in the current state though…

When I was originally prototyping there was a way to slow down the cat, which would make it a bit easier to keep the right balance.

Thanks for playing!

Amazing, all aspects. Loved it!

Bit of an exploit, if you face the plane straight up, alternate between dipping tail just in/out of the water to score waterglides while doing barrel rolls you can rapidly accumulate points :p

Fun little game, but… what did Grandfather do?

The game was cut off on the main page but i was able to play it here: https://html-classic.itch.zone/html/14527510/index.html

Cute, fun. I liked how subtle the dirty indicator was.

I’m not sure the confusing controls are necessary, that part wasn’t fun. You could have the controls always move in their physical direction - e.g. s = right, so it either moves or shifts (both towards the right) depending on where the cat is.

Still, loved the game. Nice puzzles, everything comes together.

Nice concept and looks great. Pretty easy to understand what to do, but hard!

Feels like the difficulty ramp goes up a bit too fast. Maybe it could start with a simpler track and fewer customer location?

Looks really nice, though contrast is a bit high.

I couldn’t really figure out what to do. I don’t think loops was ever higher than 0. Seemed like I needed to hit the red targets and avoid the pink circles, but even only collecting the targets the bar would reset sometimes?

All came together really nicely. Loved exploring the little world. Style is awesome.

F! It was fun though.

Nice concept, unlocking new abilities felt fun and I liked that you had to take a bit of a different path to each one.

I also fell out of the map :p

Lovely art, the rotation feels super slick. Sound was awesome too. Gameplay is maybe a little too simple, but there’s lots of space to do more there!

Very cute. Pretty tricky not being very musical, but I kinda got there.

Would really benefit from a tutorial, but it’s not that hard to figure out what’s going on.

I got through a few levels, but it felt a bit complex/time consuming to make more progress. But I like the idea, and the game felt solid.

Really enjoyable combination of graphics. Loved watching robomo, nice puzzles.

Ran it on Linux with wine, still worked flawlessly!

Loved it, excellent composition of art, sound and music.

I was able to reach the end. Just spamming jump and not moving (other than aligning at the start to avoid past self) was enough to get there. Probably needs something to make that strategy unworkable.

Nice game name 😉

Thanks for playing! I guess you didn’t notice but it shouldn’t be possible to get stuck. If you run out of credits the cat will slowly gain back energy when it’s not moving.

Thanks for playing. Could you elaborate? I’m not sure I understand what you had a problem with specifically.

The confusion was kinda intentional. But I guess it really would have made more sense to show that first story screen before the gameplay…

it appeared every time I died

It should reveal a new entry after each run. But point taken!

Thanks for playing. It was unfortunate the mechanics came out so unintuitive, and pretty clear from most feedback that the vague story screens didn’t help much either.

Hmm, that’s odd! The only decrease in velocity should be when the right mouse button is pressed.

not entirely sure why some nodes are going dormant

That’s (kind of) explained in the story after the 4th run: https://github.com/dstoc/bevy-jam-6/blob/main/src/plugins/story.rs#L21

Thanks for playing!

the button for that is hidden better than waldo

Yeah, I know… The button does get a little bit agitated and tell you to click it. I do worry that a lot of people will turn away not figuring out that the game is more than a simple slot machine. But I really like the “aha” moment when players figure it out.

Thanks for playing! Yeah… 1x is not a good option, I tried to let you know with a warning triangle 😛
