The way of implementing how the FPP view looks and handles is definitely a big area to improve upon. Currently it's projectile based, shooting out of the gun muzzle, which means the impact isn't always in the screen center. Whereas the crosshair is and therefore isn't reliable in most cases. I'm currently thinking of ditching the crosshair and adding a laser sight, to better communicate the weapon orientation and area of impact.
Or as you suggested, separate viewmodel and projectiles completely. Will have to experiment on this one ;)

This already feels like it could be a full blown game with it's wave mode alone. An authentic old-school look and feel, engaging FPS gameplay, nice sound-design and different weapons with animations!
I also see that you had more intentions for the theme which brings me to my main pain point: You as the player still die as you would in similar games, which labels death very much as an end.
Would love to see what you have in mind and take this further. It's quite astonishing what you churned out in one week, congratz to you!
You've got a nice and consistent art-style, interesting and challenging level-design and an easy to grasp but hard to master gameplay. I could see myself quite invested in this game, if I wouldn't constantly slip or miss platforms xD
The shift ability is pretty neat and an interesting take on the theme. Though it still handles player death the same way as your usual platformer; enemies and falling off the level. Would love to see the theme be expanded to these areas, e.g. an actual "realm shift" when you die falling like an upside-down version of the level (inverted gravity?).
But honestly, it's a nice game on it's own and kudos for how quickly you pushed this out!
