Ah sorry about that I guess I should do a clarification on that indeed.

The functionality is fully ready when I wrote the description and I was about to release it, but I kept adding way too new features afterwards and I don't like repeatedly doing the release QA (a very exhaustive list of things I should check before releasing to prevent giving out faulty builds) and there are new breaking changes occurring to make the code structure more maintainable . So I decided to just put a hold on the release of those functionalities particularly and I'm ready to bundle them into "the 1.0 release".

I promise it's coming really soon and there are some very fun additions I think people will like it!

There's only one work left which is for me to create a better showcase video so it's more obvious to people what Mold can truly achieve, and I have 4 newly revamped playable demo scene to showcase! I would hope to coincide with either Godot Asset Store or Unity Asset Store launch but that's not a hard requirement (but I think people will appreciate those options available at launch).

Anyways I pushing as hard as I can to get 1.0 released asap, please wait me a few days max ~_~

Just to clear up the license a bit (and if any trouble ever comes to you, you can point to this for evidence):

  • Feel free to use it as is in any commercial project, no worries.
  • But if possible please refrain anything adjacent to copy pasta-ing then call it your own and resell it directly (i.e. repackage and resell it under a different name) or anything. Tbh in the age of agentic coding I don't think I can reasonably stop this from happening but it still needs to written.
  • I'm seriously not sure if I'll sell it at some point, maybe I'll just release it in MIT in the end. Even if in the even of me deciding to commercialize it, you're free to continue using whatever freely released versions in any projects. And ofc versions after commercial release will be payment gated.

Hope that clears things up! Feel free to ask me more questions if the above doesn't answer your question.

I'll improve the License.md to have "humanly readable" section next to the stiff nonsense version after next update.

Okay fixed the regression, this was Godot only I broke it when I was working on better anti aliasing, thanks for reporting!

Also you're totally right I forgot I had the logo scene to reference haha

Hey thanks for reporting! I'll check what's going on

I definitely should add a polyline sample scene so I can remember to sanity check Polyline...

Actually I guess there's no real reason to hold it back, the source is released, hope you find fun in it!

Glad you enjoyed it!

Actually it is in there! But apparently it’s so small in the universe’s scale so you must’ve missed it haha.

Look for red orbit and red flashing light!

Glad you like it :)

I might release the source code once I had my Godot rendering plugin finalized it's not ready for the world yet haha

Sorry not atm, I can’t wrap my head around how to trigger a download or text copy in the browser, so I just had to left it as is.

Thanks for playing! I do kind of focus on the presentation/story more in this one, I improve more on gameplay elements next time around!

Just wanted to chime in and say A Short Hike (especially the talk you did on it for GDC) is THE game that propelled me into making games. You had already made the single greatest game ever and are totally worthy of doing whatever you want in your life without the need to pressure yourself on anything.

That said, thanks for sharing this post and the demo, it contextualized a lot of things in your works and I'm glad to see it. Have fun with your whatever you're working on forever and please don't feel pressured to release anything: it's cool if we can see another adamgyru game, it's okay if we can't. Take care <3

Autopanic is a passion project in the making for around two years, I've drastically overscoped it and now it is a fully diegetic minimalist twinstick shooter with Rogue-like elements. What a tongue twister!

Anyways I've just wrapped up the first stage as a demo, the game will be released for free soon but I'd like to see test some aspects of my design.

Please play the demo (https://dkliao.itch.io/autopanic-first-stage) and tell me you thoughts!
