You tapped into a niche I had no idea that needed to be explored! So far, out of the three characters, I enjoy Row a lot. An idea that came to mind is maybe being able to take another person on board, but at a cost. Having to take more food than items, etc, etc.
Having a fast forward during the nighttime if it's a scene that you have already come across would be neat too.
But overall, I love it! We need more cool pirate adjacent indie games.
The relationship dialogue between the two characters, particularly. Mimi already comes off as very controlling, and the relationship isn't healthy. I felt after the first day, I was wondering more about what Mimi was thinking internally, rather than what Domo had to say/her calling Mimi repeatedly.
I feel for a game this short, internal character struggle rather than external may help the story land for more people.
Mind you, I am not familiar with game jams yet, and I have only done long-term projects, so please take my recommendations with a grain of salt!
I really enjoyed the direction you chose with the theme!
My only suggestion would be that some of the dialogue feels a bit repetitive; the style and subtle glitches do a lot already to explain what is going on. And I understood what was going on without really having to reread anything.
(In my opinion, that is good since that means the art style and concept are consistent)
