The art is gorgeous - love the pink and purple palette. I would've liked to learn a bit more about the characters' dynamic/relationship, but I love the overall concept!

Interesting story and worldbuilding - I immediately went to play the previous games for more lore. Also loved the art and music!

Thank you, glad you liked it!

This game ruined my sleep schedule. No but seriously, the gameplay is so fun and addictive. Great job!

This was so fun! I loved the ominous atmosphere and 2.5D style, as well as the balance between the story and gameplay. A wonderful experience all-around!

Thank you for playing!

Thank you! Roadwarden was definitely one of our references, especially for the UI art.

Really liked the limited color palette and overall presentation. The story is intriguing, and I'd love to see more of this world and its characters!

Interesting premise, nice art, and cool writing style! One small note: I had to press F to interact with items (E didn't seem to work for me).

I love everything about this. I would play a full game about this world in a heartbeat >:)

Fixed, thank you!

Thank you!!

Hello everyone! I’m Ayanna, and I’m currently recruiting members to work on a sci-fi horror Ren’Py project for this year’s NaNoRenO jam.

Project Overview

Synopsis: In a futuristic version of the American Midwest, a monster-hunting reality show contestant must survive the night when they find themselves trapped in a bunker with their fellow competitors – and a new, terrifying type of beast.

The game will combine a text adventure-like format (similar to games like Citizen Sleeper and The Uncle Who Works For Nintendo) with some point and click elements, and the ending players receive will depend on whether they and their fellow contestants survive. The plan is to release a completed game on itch.io at the end of the jam for free with the possibility of further updates and/or releases if the team would like to continue working on the project afterwards. :)

Open Roles (Last updated 2:22am UTC on 3/1)

As of right now, our team has four members with skills in writing, sprite/background art, and programming. Below are the positions we’re still looking to fill:

  • UI Artist: Create GUI elements for both ADV and NVL mode (text boxes, buttons, menus, and a clock for the HUD) with a futuristic but rugged feel.
  • Creature Designer: Design and create sprites for one major monster (2 sprites total) and two minor creatures (1 sprite per creature).
  • Writer/Editor: Help script a branching storyline based on an existing outline.
  • Sound Designer/Composer: Create 3 looping tracks ([1] upbeat and dramatic, [2] slow and eerie, and [3] fast-paced horror) and help source other sound effects (ex: creature growls, ambient nature sounds, stabs/slashes, etc.).

If you’re interested, please reply to this thread with samples of your work or message me on Discord at introvertebrate!
