Hey, your game was my favourite of the jam. Would love to know if you develop this further. Happy to test / play in the future. :). Nice art also, don't know if your on IG but I tend to post my art there (Tend to avoid twitter).

Oh wow. That's great morning news! It's been so fun. I'm on the discord (BRB DIDL).

I've got to say, it's been a blast playing everyone's games this jam. It's been nice to talk through changes and share thoughts with people. I think there are some real gems here (that may be the next indie hit!).

After playing this... Do you need a hug?

This was well done! Creeped me out to start with.

I think the zip file is empty? Maybe error on upload?

You absolutely nailed the difficulty curve. The introduction of melting ice was well done too.

Sometimes the player gets caught on objects, could be your collider code.

The ice enemies look very binding of isaac esque with their frowns, great influence if you meant that!

The flame is absolutely adorable. Controls are a little funky. But what a beautiful flame boy!

that's the thing with such a short time! Gotta get that scope and brain space just right :'D nice to leave people wanting more though!

the full version. Very glad it didn't end at the river as the second to third day was the part that hooked me. Also laughed at your boat hitting the beach animation was brilliant.

This was very nicely polished.

You really made the player feel invested in the game quickly. The spritework was great too.

I think VGirotto meant the flintstones. I struggled to find them also, perhaps having them stand out a little bit more or giving a prompt e.g. "maybe the stones down at the beach would help" would guide the player a little.

If you ever end up expanding upon this RPG. I'd happily play it. Well done.

1:07 is crazy! I can make 1:25

(1 edit)

If you delve into the files i'm pretty sure I named the character 'ice doom guy'. Glad you caught the inspiration.

I will build upon the UI. Was meant to have a fire ranged attack, and frost melee attack that would have feedback through the UI.

As well as more emotions based on being hit / powered up etc. 6 frames of animation was the quick option!

Thanks!

My scope was way too big this time. I wanted to be much more doom-esque but just lacked the time and energy!

Happy to call myself a parkour master! (Well if you count flinging myself off a cliff high into the air a solid speedrun strat). Movement is fun, reminds me of classic source engine custom maps/ bunny hop maps. Nicely done!

Yep! Downloading it and playing on the mini worked for me.

Nice and minimalistic. Runs smooth. May have a fiddle around with the mini micro myself now!

never thought to add.

Will add it when I get home tonight and take that into my next jam !

Thanks

Nice little gimmick. Gave me a laugh!

Maybe as the computer heats up, you are offered pictures of the icecaps melting / melted igloos, whereas at the beginning everything is nice and cold. Just an idea!

Nice use of the same mechanic - the stick - for warding off the bats and lighting the fire. Gives you that low-level anxiety :')

I always do this also! At some point need to just sit down and learn proper pathfinding. But jankcode is always too tempting!

A slide animation would look super fitting. Now imagining cats sliding around on ice X )

Absolutely rage-inducing falling down to the bottom. I love it!

Nice use of momentum, then having to stop and rebuild it.

This feels much smoother to play now :)

Going through your catalogue - solid game here! Really have to push it. You sure make them hard.

(playing in firefox)

The game sits on the loading screen for me :( Is it working?

I'm impressed by your cat-run animation. How did you do it?

Movement is a little all over the place. But wow, well done for 3 hours!

NGL - did it like 5 times, pure joy.

Made me laugh sending the guy flying up to the top by spamming space :') thanks for that.

Appreciated!!

Would have loved to have more time (or personal energy!) This will become my go-to game to fiddle around with and keep developing. Sure was fun to dev.

Hah well anything that can make me stressed around dying so quick is a winner!

Absolutely love the hand-drawn style.

I think you tied the jump to the animation so the jump does not feel responsive.

Overall, lots of mechanics for a 48 hour game. nicely done.

Nice spin on the 'protect the thing' mechanic. Encourages the player to move around. A great concept overall!

Movement did feel a bit sluggish (maybe intentionally because the player is a slime? I feel that you could speed things up.

Well done :)

Great, responsive platforming. Well done! Music is fitting too. Loved it.

It's a bit punishing to restart from the beginning each time, perhaps checkpoints would help? It would make me a bit scared to die which did add to the frantic nature!!

Good use of the fires to unlock the next section of the level. Movement is a little floaty.

Well done for 48 hours, you managed to make plenty of levels.

Love the hand drawn art. Really consistent style.

Nice to have little mini games to work with. Definitely see the influence from a certain comfy farm game. The cooking was a little too hard, but cutting and fishing were balanced well!

Could be from the trauma of the crash - absolute feature!

That's snow joke!

This was very much the inspiration. If I had more time I would develop this to be more doom-esque. Featurecreep happened!

Great animations, a fitting atmosphere, always love a cutscene. You had apt timing & direction there also.

I like the mechanic of finding the survivors via their voices. However seemed a bit off locating them on L vs. R headphones.

Well done.

Well done on the art. The enemies come at you very fast, really had to react quickly.

I did get a little lost thinking where to go. Definitely keep coming with the updates, will love to see this develop.
