Thanks for playing!

Sorry if the story was hard to parse, but was essentially this:

Captain Gray/Silver is one of multiple Ranger captains named after colors. He is discovers one of his troops near death and fights through monsters to get him to safety. This ranger has the captain's id card on him, and is mistaken as him until the end where he confronts captain Red, who had turned traitor.

The differing rooms without enemies represent the passage of time, which is the theme of the jam, and progresses from the Ash battle -> Resting -> celebration -> new mission -> defeating captain red

The rows of enemies in the one are meant to represent red colored rangers (like the silver/gray one in the previous rest room). You can't spam the same npc sprite over and over, so I used enemies that were the most red, and having them moved around was to emulate cheering / dancing.

Also sorry about no cover, I actually forgot to make some lol.

Thanks again for playing it and being willing to restart just to get the dialogue!

Nice. If you're talking about the section with the checker floors and king-looking npc it is meant to be a parade. Reading the sign and Captain Red (the king npc) will give some more context. Hope you can make it to the end! If you are talking about the room with the lava, then good luck! It's possible to make it past it to the real challenge later!

Thanks for the feedback! I wanted to make the enemies more complex but unfortunately didn't have time between work / a vacation I went on with family. Glad to hear you enjoyed it! I debated between making the projectile break in contact with the walls or not but decided against it for the sake of getting through easier since you die in shot. This was my first game jam / game maler game amd had a pretty fun time working on it. Now I'm looking into doing a platformer of sorts.
