Great concept! I really liked the art too. Maybe make the movement more snappy but overall it was great. Keep it up! :)

I really like the visuals and gameplay! Some of the sounds were a bit annoying but overall it was really fun!

Nice Game!

Umm... How has no-one noticed the maths is wrong? You have to calculate brackets first so the answer is 1.

Did you understand the main mechanic? You have to shoot past the shields of the station, hitting the middle to destroy it. Sorry if I didn't make that clear enough. But thanks for playing and I'm glad you enjoyed the rest!

EDIT: I've just realised I didn't say anything about that in the instructions and just assumed players would figure it out 🤦‍♂️! I've edited it now, thanks for letting me know!

Nice game! However, I would suggest making enemies slightly more intelligent and have behaviour apart from following the player directly to encourage more strategy.

With the time you had though, it's a very interesting concept!

Thanks for the feedback, glad you enjoyed it!

Thanks! I was planning to add screen-shake and make it harder by adding enemies that shoot at you but didn't have the time. And yeah, I may have gone a bit overboard with the chromatic aberration (red/green/blue splitting). Again, thanks for the feedback!

Thanks! I did struggle to come up with an idea for the limitation and this is the best I could think of. Also, if you haven't, I'd suggest reading the story because it makes the cheating make a bit more sense.

Thanks!

Thanks! I could have tried to make that a new cow spawns each time you abduct one or something, definitely an improvement for a post-jam version!

Thanks!

My game is here. Make sure to read the controls because they're not all obvious and the story because it will help you understand how it uses the limitation.

Oh yeah, oops... I forgot about that

I did in the community posts but is there a better way to ask them?

I know but I can't because the jam rating is still happening...

Here's my game: https://delightfulham.itch.io/join-robots

Sorry, I just realised that :(
Some people have already played so is there any way to play without the .pck?

I submitted my game for the jam so it can be downloaded but I couldn't let people play it on their browser as it wasn't working :(
I've fixed the problem now but can't change it as the jam is already done. Could any moderators let me change this please?

Thanks! You're right, I can't change it now but I'll definitely change it after the jam.

I loved it! Especially the short attention span mechanic!

It wasn't working for me when I did this but could you help? I'm not really that experienced with exporting. When I export it and try to open the HTML file, it says 'Failed loading file 'Join Robots.pck''

Thanks!

Cool! Could you try out my game too?

Here's mine! Link

Here's mine!

My game is HERE!

Nice! I messed up once though and I couldn't restart so had to close and reopen the game... Other than that, it's a great game and I loved the pixel art graphics!

Thanks, this is my first game-jam game so I'm glad you like it!

Thanks! I didn't actually move to a different game engine though XD. I was mostly coding in raw python (apart from learning a bit of unity but I didn't get very far with that) so this is my first big game made in any game engine :)

I've finished my game :) Check it out if you want on my profile. It's called 'Join Robots'.
Make sure you're playing the right game! I made the other one ages ago and it's pretty bad so just make sure...

Oh and this is my first game-jam :)

I've uploaded mine and I am quite proud of it. I don't think it's as good as it could have been but this is my first game jam and I've only recently started with this new engine so I'm just happy I've managed to get it done in time :)

Thanks! I hope other people decide to start speedrunning this great game! (Also, what's your best time on normal?)
