Hi everyone!
I just released Kitbash, a Windows tool for game developers drowning in asset packs.
If you own big asset collections (like Kenney's All-in-1 bundle), you know the pain: thousands of files spread across hundreds of folders, no way to find that one barrel model you know you have somewhere.
Kitbash scans any folder and turns it into a fast visual library:
- Instant thumbnails for tens of thousands of files (PNG, JPG, WEBP + rendered 3D previews)
- Interactive 3D viewer : orbit and zoom OBJ, GLB, GLTF, FBX, DAE, STL
- Typo-tolerant search, filters by type/format/pack/tags/favorites
- Color search : find "all the red assets" with a color picker
- Scene composer : preview several models together in a mini diorama
- Copy to project : exports assets with their dependencies (.mtl, .bin, textures)
- Fully offline, no account, English & French
It's 20% off during launch week:

I'd love feedback from fellow devs, especially on what features would make it more useful for your workflow. Thanks!
Kitbash is now available! https://dakobz.itch.io/kitbash
Kitbash turns any folder of game assets into a fast, searchable visual library: instant thumbnails for tens of thousands of files, interactive 3D previews (OBJ, GLB, GLTF, FBX, DAE, STL), typo-tolerant search, color filters, custom tags and collections, a 3D scene composer, and one-click export to your project — dependencies included.
It was built and tested on a real 74,000+ asset library (Kenney's All-in-1 bundle), works fully offline, and speaks English and French.
🎉 To celebrate the launch, Kitbash is 20% off during launch week.
If you try it, I'd love to hear your feedback — what works, what's missing, what you'd like next. Just leave a comment below.
Thanks for your support!
