I’ve decided not to join the jam anymore. Right now, it would be too much to handle, and I really want to focus on a game I’m already making—which I actually built for a jam—so it doesn’t make sense to split my time. Thanks a lot for understanding

By the way, I hadn't noticed the thread was about Unreal. At least around here, running such a heavy program is still a bit unrealistic. If I install it on my PC, it doesn't even open the menu

Edit: To answer your question, yes, but the project depends more on the programmer's knowledge than on the tool itself.

gdscript

I'm a programmer and i use Godot. You can take a look at my latest (and first) game that I made for a jam

You can try it out. It's not complete, but it's definitely much better than the version I submitted to the jam: https://boundtogether.netlify.app/ . thank for you feedback ; D

It may sound muted, but that's due to browser policy. Websites don't play sounds unless users have interacted with the site. A quick click after pressing F5 will make it load quickly.

exatly. total crazy lol. I updated it, but there's no way to update it in the Game Jam (for obvious reasons). If you want to try it out, here's an improved web version:

https://boundtogether.netlify.app/

thanks

Thank you very much. I didn't have time to worry much about the game design, as I did it 17 hours before the jam ended. I'm already working on a new version and dedicating more time to the game design

It's a great idea, but I'm sure it will have many features in the future (I plan to expand the game). I'll probably add something like an arrow pointing to the direction the symbiote is. Or maybe a skill tree to help with progression. I included the mouse information in the description, thanks for the feedback

Thanks for the feedback. As you liked it a lot, I plan to make a more complete version with at least 50 levels and this will be one of the first problems to be fixed

interesting lore. I can't wait for a full demo

same

really cool

I was going to joke that the ant looked like a gun because it shot projectiles and made a gun sound. That was until I saw it was literally a gun, lol. I wasn't expecting that. You could add a machine gun and infinite ammo so I could teach the scorpions to do that

Not even on Linux. I installed Wine to run the Windows version, and it didn't work either. It only worked when I opened it from the terminal

Cons:

I would add a background filter to match the color of the blocks.

I use Linux, I don't know if it's a global shortcut, but pressing W + CTRL in the current tab closes it, making the game quite difficult. I also didn't like restarting everything; I could simply go back to the beginning without having to collect coins again.

Some enemies are unrecognizable (but I think this is more due to the graphics). I jumped on a creature and didn't even notice because it blends into the background.

Pros:

The design is well done, and I didn't encounter any notable bugs (apart from the gunshot, whose design isn't visible).

The scenery and collisions were well utilized; I found it quite fun overall. I think it could be further expanded with space mechanics, like slower gravity and the like (because of the space/alien theme).

It has a lot of different elements, and I liked the variety. Honestly, it has a lot of potential, but it needs to make the most of the space style

Thank you very much. I wanted to participate from the beginning, but some unforeseen circumstances prevented me from doing so. However, I'm not one to give up easily

Oh, I was stupid. I just had to read the game description

I liked it, but I couldn't figure out what to do. I thought I had to collect all the powerups, but they just appeared again

It's a really cool game. You can expand a lot and make other insects and other types of food. i like much

Thanks for the feedback. The idea was just to present the concept, and I just refined it so the game wouldn't be bad. It turns out I ran into a lot of unforeseen issues, lol :)

Development was very fast, thanks for the report. I intend to improve in the future and create something playable.

dont works on linux

really like
