Cool! This should add it for you: https://itch.io/jam/316859/add-game/1418113?token=loj6SBYIbRuEWjzrzP27SqXsB6Q

That's ok! I can send anyone who needs a little extra time a submission link after the official submissions period closes.

Please use this extra time for chilling vibing and things of that nature

here is a link for the jam discussion events! https://whereby.com/nowplaythis

Hello everyone! I've just added these to the main jam page but I thought it would be good to also announce them here. There are some events to let you share, discuss and collaborate on work during the jam period to be aware of:

March 25th at 5:30 PM GMT: Festival Opening and Interest Check - Join us in the Topias festival space (will be added when the festival starts) for an introduction to the jam theme and opportunities to ask questions or find others to collaborate with.
March 27th at 11:00 AM GMT:
In-Progress Discussion and Sharing - On Saturday we will be meeting in the festival's Discord channel to discuss our ideas and progress so far! It's also a great time to jump in if you haven't already.
March 28th at 6:00 PM GMT:
Closing Presentations - At the end of the festival there will be an opportunity to share your work. If you would like a presentation slot the possibility to sign up for one will become available during the jam.

Most of these are just free to drop into once the festival's social space goes live, however there will be limited slots for the final presentations, simply because we have to stick to a time limit, which I will share how to sign up for after the mid-jam sharing session.

Also be sure to check the Now Play This website for additional information and updates as the festival gets closer.

It's a writing jam, so a bit of both. You can definitely make something interactive, but just writing, zines, or any sort of response to the theme is also welcome! Here are some past examples so you can see what people have made before:  https://itch.io/jam/list-jam https://itch.io/jam/lost-histories-jam  https://itch.io/jam/manifesto-jam

Hi voec!! Thanks for checking  out the jam :) your entry looks great and you can add it to the submissions page w this link https://itch.io/jam/13314/add-game/575119?token=veGZadJz57E6Z8KlrMbrWvCZipw

Hey! I usually write a wrap up of the jam around a week after it's over, so I can still give you a submission link if you write something by then. But, we also usually do a games writing jam the second or third week of February every year, if you want to keep it in mind for next time!

please be respectful of fallen comrades

REAL...

Done! I think you can add it to the official list as well with this link: https://itch.io/jam/3546/add-game/119187?token=btLCBP4r31CLqL9Xob8oxvWVTKg

As we wind down to the end of the weekend I'd like to know if anyone feels like they need a bit of extra time? There will be a roundup post on CD discussing the submissions, but if you're a day late or so I'd still be happy to include it.

If you would like to make a submission after the deadline, post it here! Also, if you do not wish for your essay to be in the roundup, you can also say so here.

With a few hours left we've just cracked 20 submissions and I'm so surprised and happy by the turnout!! I can't wait to dig in and see all of the ideas. Thank you all for participating and giving my new idea a shot :)

only to the point that they're still intelligible I think but even then that's a personal judgement call. Cropping and collage are all totally ok!

No worries! If people need me to leave the jam open for a little longer to get things in last minute that's fine. I want it to be as relaxed as possible for people to just mess around with the form!

That sounds like a good idea as well, let me know if you go through with it!

Visual Essay Jam community · Created a new topic Welcome!!

Wow, we have 12 people and counting already and it's still over a week out from the jam proper starting!

Thanks to Zoya Street for featuring the jam on Critical Distance! I'll also be posting a roundup piece there after the jam.

People have expressed interest in running these sort of jams in a more irl-ish fashion, which is totally cool! I want this to become a repeatable format like any other type of jam. If you'll be doing it at a specific date or location, let me know and I'll promote it, as well as check out what you make.

Feel free to use the forums to hash out ideas and chat with the other participants. I'm also on twitter @netgal_emi if you have any pressing questions.
