this is so great! you utilised the switching mechanic really well, and the art is so charming. I'd work a little on the movement and jumping physics so it feels a little more responsive, which is always important when obstacles and jumping puzzles are part of the gameplay loop. Excited to see how else you incorporate the switching mechanic.

Wow! As a mystery lover, the plot was very compelling - I really enjoyed the premise and the time loop / limbo aspect. The game runs well and smoothly, and I can tell it took some work to code! The animated art also goes a long way in immersion, I only wish there was some audio to match the setting as well. Sound can be such a large part of horror/mystery, and I think it would really bring out some of the more impactful moments in your writing (the figure reveal, the TV, etc.)

When I reached what I think was the ending (petting the cat), I did feel a little confused because while I had my guesses as to where the plot was going and the MC's place in it, I didn't really receive a payoff as to what the time loop or the car accident was about. Maybe I missed something.

All in all, your gameplay loop, pun not intended, is really fun and intriguing to go through each loop and wonder what's different. Can't wait to see the finished product!

I thoroughly enjoyed my winter walk! I kept freezing though because I wanted to explore all the options and the writing was so compelling, you manage to paint very vivid, nostalgic, beautiful and bittersweet settings and feelings of lost youth and childhood that I think every player will connect to. Your sketches, despite just being sketches, are really charming and contributes very strongly to the setting! I'm really excited to see what they're going to look like when they're complete.

I did find the game over screens slightly jarring, mainly because other than my hands getting cold, I didn't get a quantitative sense of how cold I was getting, and the "freezing" mechanic didn't jump out as something I had to be immediately wary of. Maybe constant sentence/variable that shows how cold you are at the footer of every page, or even warnings like "Better get home now, your fingers are freezing over." or something depending on how frozen you are.

I would also consider breaking the text up into multiple different screens - it's not much of an issue, especially if the player likes to read, but might help add to a sense of progression. Also, I think the screen where I encounter the little girl and she disappears is a dead end as of now.

Lastly, I think the game would be even more immersive and appeal to your senses and the theme of memory, would be to add a soundtrack or some sound effects. The scene inside the pastry shop is sticking with me and I'd love to hear those bells when I enter and the subtle chatter (if any) in the background. Overall, I think you have something beautiful here and I can't wait to see the final product!

So cool! Would love some indicators of what was able to be stepped or jumped off of. Some things that might make the fight more interesting would be to have randomised cards every round, or a cooldown on the heal mechanic or some risk tied to u sing the heal. Otherwise, great 2 stage game, it's really cool how the types of gameplay transitioned alongside the narrative.

haha very cute! would really love a respawn mechanic so I don't have to refresh the game. Also maybe some indicators of where the waffles are or how close the chef is to you, would make the gameplay flow a little more guided and interesting. well done!!

your art is absolutely beautiful, and really encourages the player to explore more of the world and being able to see a glimpse of something interesting at the edges of the screen before walking towards it is a great cue and experience. Other than same layering issues and trouble collecting the hearts, this has a lot of great potential and is really atmospheric already!

So adorable, I love that the aesthetic is almost like a page torn out of someone's notebook in their daydream.

I think one thing that would really tie the game together is like a gauge for your jetpack so the game would be a little more dynamic.

a very cute and fun game overall, good job!

This is so cool! I think the main gameplay loop of flying around and chasing the boss ship is a fun idea, and definitely the highlight of the game for sure. Something that may be cool in the future is if killing the smaller ships had an impact too, like maybe powerups to the guns or something like that, or if getting the crown changed something for the next level but you've got a really cool basis here with some great mechanics that I'm sure were hard to code. great job!

I love your writing and the personality you inject into it, the background changing from day to night is also ingenious and very immersive! Great artwork as well, and I'd love to explore more of the options and I'm suspicious of the foreshadowing... excited to see where the story goes.

this is so CUTE. i love how stylised it is and the pixel art is beautiful. The gameplay loop of the end looping back into the beginning, and then being able to explore different options and have it make narrative sense at the same time is ingenious.

Love how immersive it is as well with the moving background, characters and props. practically no notes.
Amazing work!

Love how fantastical you made this feel, everything from the font, background, and music ties together to create that mood.  Your writing is lovely and the emphasis on certain words through colors and bolding make key plot/gameplay elements easy to remember. I do wish the back button didn't lead to the very start to the game and let me try out the different pathways, but all in all great work!
