yea lmao i was adding stuff to it last minute :)) there r 2 delays on the tick tock sound, one being the stock fl plugin fruity delay 3 with a ping pong delay which is the main echo and the other being lagrange which is a pretty interesting granular delay plugin (at least thats what it calls itself) that add more detailed echoes to the main echoes. u can make some pretty crazy sounds with lagrange so u should check it out (its free ). im glad u liked the track!
oo yea i can definitely understand the underground feeling. thats kinda what i was imagining actually, but less fantasy like hollow knight and more scifi like nier automata.
and !! i love the hld ost ; disasterpeace has made some great music. the hld ost has been a big influence for me especially since i dont play games or listen to ost's that much. sometimes im afraid my ost type music sounds too similar to it stylistically tbh, but im glad it reminded u of my fav ost :))
this is a great little sound track
i rlly liked the synth sounds that were used and the switchups for both of the songs didnt feel rlly abrupt yet were still rlly different from the other parts of each song. also cool that the second track is in an odd time signature (but didnt feel jarring!)
i rlly enjoyed it
for the drum set u can try using steven slate drums, which has a free version thats still quite a good library (tho i havent used it much myself) spitfire labs and piano book also both have some drum kits that r pretty good, tho not as comprehensive as steven slate drums
as for the silence, that is a bit strange. i do know that this often happens when u have reverb on stuff that leaves an inaudible tail that the daw still exports. so i sometimes do an automation on the master volume at the end of tracks to make sure that it goes to complete silence where i want it to end. maybe thatd work? o well, better luck next time ig lol. it didnt take away from the quality of the submission anyway
my god this is absolutely incredible. some of the climactic parts of these tracks had me actually saying "oh my god" out loud. every single track is amazing and i love how powerful and ominous most of it feels, and i also love how u incorporated some more acoustic instruments to contrast with all the insane electronic sounds. u managed to blend these elements together so seamlessly. the quieter portions are so atmospheric and the "drop" portions r so powerful and huge and whatever other words
i went into this expecting something really good as i rlly enjoyed ur previous submissions to previous ost jams but this still completely shattered my expectations. idk if this is just my style or what but this hit so hard. the arrangement and composition was very great but jesus christ the sound design is just so good. i loved all the weird sounds and also just the synths. please teach me ur ways how do u make these sounds
finally, i also rlly liked the story u made for this whole thing, quite surreal and a bit scary. very unique and fitting for the soundtrack
11/10 honestly incredible, very very well done
very cool, sounds quite exciting and every time a new layer gets added it just keeps building up to the climax. cool tempo automation too to add energy (sick solos too)
i liked the style of the track with the blend of electronic and orchestral elements
great voice btw u sounded very good and it was very fitting for that last part
good work!
this shit is insane idk how u made 21 tracks with such consistent, high quality in such a small time frame
i rlly liked ur idea of having night versions of some of the tracks and how u used chiptune sounds to make it sound like a mirrored, other world. using static and reversing some of the melodies for the dark night versions was also cool
and more generally, everything just sounded great. both the instruments themselves (tho thats also just props to the company that made them) and the arrangement. very nice melodies including the use of the lovers theme in multiple tracks and i rlly liked the harmonies u chose.
the only nitpick id give is that the drum set that u used sounds a bit dead/cheap. the other more orchestral percussion u used in various tracks sound fine tho, i assume u just didnt have a good library for drum sets lol. and also the bit of silence at the end of every track (that could be intentional tho) is a bit odd
anyway, great stuff all around, very well done
and hope u feel better soon about the end of ur relationship
this was interesting to read and i do agree with a lot of what u said about the difficulty of rating music. ur point abt how certain pieces may not sound good themselves but might be fitting in the context of a hypothetical game is something i hadnt even thought abt but it makes sense.
i think the idea of having an actual game that we all make music around is a great idea but itll definitely be harder to organize than just a visual or verbal theme like u said
