Thank you so much for your post!

I watched your stream recently (sadly didn't have the chance to catch you live).  It was such a special moment to see you playing and enjoying our game. Your positive energy really made me smile, and I really appreciate the effort you put in to playing everyone's games as well as leaving kind yet well-thought-out feedback.

Thank you again. I hope to see more of you again in the future :)

- picopau

Hello! I'm excited to watch the submitted games be streamed by both creators, but I don't think there's been any further info? Would be nice for us to know:

1. When are the streams happening?
2. On what platform?
3. Will the streams be recorded/will there be videos made?

Thanks in advance! :)

Thanks so much for playing!

That’s strange, we’ve not had anyone have any input issues as of yet. There is a feature whereby if you run out of stamina, you’re locked out of blocking and/or punching. Could it have been that?

Admittedly, we rushed that in pretty late - so it’s very poorly documented in game :(

Hi Joe!

We're a small team of 3 (programmer, 2d artist & project manager) who would love to work with you. We recently worked on a submission for Jump Ship Jam 2023 (though sadly our 2d artist was unavailable).

We hadn't originally planned on expanding to include a sound designer, but re-considered once we heard your work on Steel Spice and Everything Nice. You are incredibly talented!

You can reach out to us on discord (picopau) if you'd like to chat more :)

Thank you for sharing! That’s a smart way to give planets good depth and variation, and I appreciate you breaking that down for me. The SubViewport I think is the key for me here! In the absence of Unity’s pixel perfect camera and workflows, we built our whole game with the project scaled down to our reference resolution (320x180), which ended up causing us endless issues (like with the UI, for example). I had a play around with SubViewport and wish I’d thought of that sooner.

Thanks again for sharing. Feel free to add me on discord (picopau) - we’d be thrilled to work with you in the future. You are super talented peeps :)

It seems they're generating a GUID on registering an account and storing that in your local app data. see: %LOCALAPPDATA%/CelestialRescuers

Disclaimer: not the creator, could 100% be wrong!

I'm so mad - I got wayyyy too carried away boosting around that I crashed after a measly 7 planets saved!

In all seriousness - this is one of my favourite entries so far - potentially my favourite. The audio, polish, art, movement - aaah, it's all perfect. There is so much I want to pick your brains about here, but in the interest of keeping it brief, I'll only ask 1 question! The subtle pixel differences in the spinning planets/moving spaceship. Were they done using shaders? I find it super endearing and it really fits the art style well!

The only nit-picky thing I found a bit unengaging was that you could just stay at a planet to max out on that resource. It means the winning strat is to just permanently hold E as you fly around.

Overall, really glad I downloaded this. Congratulations, hope this steals the show!

Very cool concept. The interface looked great - I especially like the detail in the waves and the screen. I'd be interested to see the shaders you've used to throw that together!

Congrats on the entry, and good luck with your job hunt :)

Very fun game! I lasted for ages once I got pimped out with power ups. Really impressed with the polish here too - particularly the particle effects when the numbers explode. I'd love to know how you achieved that!

There is a smalll bug in that, when you die, you actually still pick up powerups that would have passed through you.

Having said that, hard to fault this entry - an overall fun experience. Congratulations :)

This looks like web browser version. Probably just an accidental click and drag, which has caused the browser to highlight the window :)

Really fun game! I really liked the take on the theme. The audio was great too - the SFX when you gain a villager is super satisfying.

Unfortunately, I mistakenly took the wrong upgrade constantly, on account of me spam clicking to attack. And I think I collected too many followers, since it started to lag pretty bad :(

Nonetheless, fantastic entry. Congratulations!

Happened to me too!

I second this - please post the stream! I love seeing streamers play the games we make!

Thanks so much for the long and well thought out feedback! Really appreciate you taking the time. Also glad you saw the humour in this, haha. We really enjoyed working on this -  and had a good giggle when we first got the arms and legs working together.

Thanks for playing! :)

Managed to beat this on my first playthrough! Once I figured out the targeting system, I felt so OP haha.

It could do with being a bit more challenging; but not through just buffing the boss as that could very quickly become unachievable. Maybe the boss could have had different moves? Like the boss does a grand sweep, and you having a team-wide invulnerability that you could use to counter?

All in all, was a fun game. And I really really enjoyed the sfx, as well as the boss animations. Great job with this!

Ahh thank you for the kind words! This was our first experience with Godot - we struggled a lot getting to a point where the end boss was achievable, but also distinctly difficult. Through all our testing we've only managed to beat it a handful times, haha.

Glad to hear the keybindings came in handy! Jaydox made a point to make this as accessible as possible, so he'll be very happy to hear it came in handy.

Thanks again for playing - and congratulations on your super fun entry!

I looove these kinds of Bejeweled-style puzzle games. This has absolutely nailed it for me. The sound is pleasing, and it's an interesting twist on an aged genre that doesn't feel like it had an awful lot of twists left. I also love the literal interpretation of "strength in numbers" - we did very similar in our entry! ;)

All in all a very addicting, enjoyable entry. I'll certainly be revisiting this in the coming days/months for some chill gaming time.

Congratulations on the solid entry!

Thanks for playing! :)

This was absolutely stunning. The art, the writing, and the overall aesthetic blew me away; but the art especially so. Also a super cool take on the theme - this is the first I've seen "strength in numbers" represented through solidarity and diplomacy.

Fantastic entry!

Similar issues to the below creators :(

Congratulations on submitting something, though. A lot of people don't manage to stick out a project from start to finish. I'll be keen to play this again once you're more comfortable with the engine! :)

Had a surprising amount of adrenaline when playing this. It was just refreshing, simple fun. Felt a little like an aim trainer when you get to waves of 30+ ducks haha

Agreed with the below - spent a fair bit of time wondering how I'd spend my credits.

Overall though, good job with this! Fun entry :)

Cool game! Defo has potential - can see how it fits the theme and I like the lore & role-reversal of you being the skelly. Seems like you're keen to go further with this in the future, so some feedback (in no particular order):

- Minions aren't distinct enough from enemies. It's hard to tell what's trying to kill me!

- It feels a little claustrophobic. Shoot 'em up survival games benefit greatly from open space for the player to navigate.

- Some sense of progression would keep this fresh, and fits the genre well. ATM it feels like the only changing element with time is "more enemies".

Without the above, it gets a bit one note after a while. Not entirely your fault; it's a difficult genre to pull off.

I wish you the best of luck with this & hope to see it again someday! :)

EDIT: One final thing. Maybe wait for the jam to be over before making changes! It's not in the spirit of a jam to do so midway based on the feedback of other creators :)

Hey Michel! Nice to see some positivity being spread around here. I agree, it's great to see some of the work coming out of this - and also fantastic to see how many people have picked up Godot (same as myself). I had a blast learning the engine through this jam and hope you did too!

It's a shame there was no discord setup for this jam. Would have been great to get in touch with some of the other creators :)

Cool concept, and nice to see a game being done in Scratch! I had the same problem as @indiegesindel which was a little frustrating.

Thanks for your submission! :)

When I saw that Mega Crit had an entry in this jam, I couldn't wait to play it; and it has exceeded my expectations. Absolutely amazed to see how much polish and detail this has. The standout factors for me were the variation in play (11 characters is insane for a jam) and stunning visual/audio design.

My main criticism would be that I'm not sure this fits the theme hugely well (although you could argue the crowd is pretty big, so there's that).

Having said that, I enjoyed each playthrough. Managed to get closest with Carnival Carry; trashing cards constantly while having 3 Gothic Wardrobes almost won it for me!

Top entry IMO - and I hope you guys enjoyed learning Godot just as much as we did.

(Also - reminds me a little of Ooblets with the dance theme & Hype Points!)

Idle games aren't usually my thing - but I enjoyed this far more than I expected to! I understood the assignment right as the game loaded & had a blast playing through.

There was a bug, though, where balls would seemingly start to roll across the pegs infinitely, not making any money :(

Having said that, still a lot of fun! Thanks for your submission :)

Hi! It's great to see an attempt at a 3d multiplayer game (this is the first one I've seen!)

I think you might have been a little toooo ambitious with this. It's pretty buggy trying to get in a game with friends, flight didn't feel very spaceship-y, and the assets could have done with a little refining. In general, this could have done with a much tighter scope.

Having said that, again, it's a HUGE achievement that you managed to get a multiplayer game up and running in a short time. For that reason alone, this is definitely something to be proud of.

Good luck & looking forward to seeing more submissions in the future! :D

Fun game, and a cool interpretation of the theme! I love this genre and could easily sit here playing for hours
Main takeaways would be:
1. It could do with more polish (going too much to one side puts you on the godot gray)
2. Feels strange that you can just go straight over water! It would've been nice to have some more interactivity in the game

Congratulations on your submission. I had a lot of fun with this! :)

Great stuff! The design in this is excellent. So many little details that really show a lot of love went in to the aesthetic. The hint functionality is great too - subtle enough that it doesn't ruin the experience, yet obvious enough that people like me can actually play lol!

Solid entry :)

Hey all!

We hope it'll be apparent how we've implemented the theme, but just in case - you are a number, who must grow their strength to beat the other numbers, and become the Number Fighter Champion. We like to take things literally here ^^

We hope you enjoy our game :)

- ChiciStudios & Jaydox

EDIT: Moments before submitting, one of our developers accidentally pushed some game-breaking changes that were causing the game to crash on load. We've since reverted and submitted the correct version (a little late...) - we're really sorry about that!

Thanks for the positive feedback! I thoroughly enjoyed playing through EBTKS also. Your entry is fab :)

50k is fantastic! I'm glad you're enjoying the customer SFX - I recorded them myself haha.

That's very kind of you to say. It's heart-warming to hear you're enjoying the game with the whole family :)

Awesome game! The art and story really shines here - the style is fantastic & I like how you've interpreted the theme by slipping in cliche's in all of the dialogue and minigames. My only criticism is that the ramp in difficulty is a little off - some minigames would be a little too breezy for easy-hard, and then insanely difficult for the final difficulty.

All in all, fantastic entry from an incredibly talented team!

I spent far too long getting the high score.

Nice entry!

Aside from myself, that's the closest any of the playtesters got! Seems like you've cracked the code

This is great, thanks for linking this, just watching through it now. I'm kind of glad you decided against a china shop idea - it would have undoubtedly smashed ours out of the water!

I don't envy being in your shoes - I can't even begin to think about how I would approach this. My experience with shaders is extremely limited - I'll defo be taking a peek at how you've handled the echo locations!

What a fantastic entry. Nailed the theme interpretation - an arcade game was a great idea. This has been my favourite entry to just sit and play so far - really enjoyed this!

This is a really cool concept! A very solid take on the "blind as a bat" cliché that really taps in to my constant desire to play Flappy Bird style games. There is a surprising depth to it - you start to realise details like how the fireflies(?) act as signals to where you should be going/which way the camera would be bending.

My only gripe, like others, is that collisions often felt far too punishing, and it wasn't too clearly communicated why you were colliding with things that, from the player's perspective, seemed like they should have been further away.

Outside of that, a fantastically original take and a solid game overall. I managed to get to 79%!
