Glad you had fun with it, and thanks for playing. Yeah, I made it an anti-climax. I don't know if it's disappointing, but I wanted to try one, and also got tired of making the game in place of newer, more personally-experimental projects.

There's two definitions for rogue-like, and rogue-lite. First: like the game Rogue, or fairly different. Rogue-like is like Rogue. Second: with, or without meta-progression. Rogue-like is without.
It's like how Doom-like became FPS, but in the case of rogue-likes and rogue-lites, they didn't change the words, and so a conflation between the old, and new definitions came up.
To fart is to not fart in a way that is superfluous. Existence, and the individuality of the farts therein necessitates difference of function, and form between instance, so in an instance of fart is meaning, and so in every fart is meaning. To let loose the goose from a hyper-guacamole floor-slapper is to recognize the revealing of the penis in the weight of the poo-that-ensues against the underwear, and in that poo-that-slaps-the-floor itself, and to recognize both components as tandemonious is to see the difference of fart becoming floor-scat, and another instance of fart becoming mere air. Difference then is not just variable severity, but also transmutation, or what is called th philosopher's stone in Hermetic tradition. In saying this, I recognize every fart as meaningful in the necessary difference that exists between any given fart as made by the order of this reality we participate in. In other words, farts don't go wrong ways, and I would never not like the way a fart went. The structure of this universe demands it.
TL;DR: I own you philosophically, lil bro.
I'd probably say the scope is too big, and to choose your favourite aspect to make a much smaller game upon. You have to think about what skills you have, and properly feel out what you can afford to learn in your mind's unconscious timeline. If you've made a small game, you can tell what big games you can make without having to learn everything all at once, so that's why people usually recommend to start out making smaller games. So even if this might not be your first game (I don't know), I would recommend choosing an aspect of this game, and making it. Make it really fun, put your own spin on it, add some flavour.
