it's been a week, need to keep the thread fresh ✌

Still no animation on my page's banner or background, hoping for progress soon

Noted, shotgun update needed

Thank you so much for the write up! It's definitely clear that our gameplay design was a bit undercooked but I'm glad you got enjoyment from our goofy cooking sim! <3

Nothing quite like playing your own game jam submission on the in-game phone of someone else's submission! There is just so much here, like the snail news, the duct-tape banana reference, plus the lifeline of gaining money through mobile games. Fantastic Job!

Great character design, easy to understand gameplay and a previously unrealized dream of becoming a pastry god on the battlefield. Fantastic, job 10/10!

Such a clever physics game that perfectly fits the theme! The jar was kinda rough to rotate with the mouse and the visuals need some polish but Jesus this is such a well done game, congratulations!

I think most top down games in a similar vein will auto adjust you back to the right grid placement when you just barely hit the edge of a wall, this game didn't do that so the movement felt oddly "sticky"

But the game is super cute and the hitchhikers guide reference is fun! Visually this looks very well polished, there's just small gameplay nitpicks

You're gonna bankroll MeeMaw's retirement! Thank you for playing <3

fun fact, the flamethrower was Cookie's idea, MeeMaw was mine!

A HUD was pitched in the initial draft but we didn't end up having enough time to implement. Looking back it's probably a key detail we shouldn't have skipped. Thank you for playing and commenting <3

Yours too? Funnily enough my family does have a story where my Grandfather got his eyebrows burned off

But you got the rat right??

Super cute and relaxing! I was getting stuck in doorways but I love the imposed timer on collecting good for my little forest sprite garden. Super cute!

I love this, nice calm tones, a fun gameplay loop and a silly premise

I collected all the cookie crumbs and now I'm in heaven with my cookie father? That's dark, I love it!

It looks beautiful, it's nostalgic, it's polished but it's not exactly fun?

There is a lot of text which is fun to read the first time though but then you get forced to click through again if you die and restart. Santa feels slow which is expected for stealth but I had trouble finding where the collision boxes were and it's confusing that the guard can move diagonally but Santa only in the 4 cardinal directions.

All in all, this would be great with a bit of fine tuning and some more levels to play

You've mad a sweet like cookie bouncing game and it's super hard! I do like that the cookies deal more damage than the bugs making it so value your moves, but it takes so few hits before everything explodes! :'(

Really nice harmony with the art and music, this is a done, polished well executed game!

It took a minute and scrolling down below the game to understand what was going on. Really clever dice management game, it's balanced enough that my spam gold strategy didn't work for, or at least it didn't work for me yet. Good job!

my husband has thoughts

Congratulations on the Inbound Shovel approval! Only slightly jealous <3

You madman! Congratulations!! <3

The new time to beat:

Great puzzle game! Simple premise that's well executed, my one gripe is that I can't get onto of the letters on the ending screen :'(

The hit boxes feel a little mean and I found the easiest way to deal with all the customers was to slide through them, pinks included. The art is wonderful, the music fits the vibe, and the theme makes sense. I wish there was an indicator on how far through a stage you are. I found it demotivating to keep repeating the same hoard because I suck at games and couldn't tell if I was making progress or not.

Why give me two ferrets with only one seat in the canoe?? :'(

Cute little stealth rescue game, and great theming too!

I wont lie to you, it is pretty buggy. I first got trapped by the box at the first box and then got stuck when my two boxes fused together at the end of the level. But the good news is you've only got the bones of a fun platformer.

I really like the mechanic of picking up knives to throw at enemies, I did double back to carry a knife from a previous room into the new one just "in case"

The art is good, your title is fantastic and the music fits the theme. Great job!

The art really give this game such a fun personality! Kinda doofy but great <3

This is a lovely little puzzle game. I wish it had some more polish, like folding animations and activating the instruction tabs on screen to be button. A solid little puzzler <3

You made me break out my controller for this game! It was a bit tricky at first to get the hang of the mechanic, I died several times before I finally figured out how to play the game. But great job being both doofy and slightly stressful at the same time!

They we're intended to be lizard people but I had a hard time getting a good doofy looking lizard character. Here's the fully body shot:

There's so many story bits we wanted to cram in here but we were limited on time, the podcast is my favorite little bit! PenguinSphen did a fantastic job!

Beautiful game, very polished and I love the balance ya'll struck with repeating levels but not being repetitive. There was thought and dialog for the player testing boundaries before prompted which I loved. This is just a really great game! <3

Its funny you say that...

So there is a boiled and chopped starfruit asset but the order that ingredients is cooked is important! The fried noodles idea is killer though <3

SPOILERS: https://imgur.com/a/OD71h1o

lol you're adorable, I love how wispy and dreamy your game is!

How do you know worms aren't appetizing? Thank you <3

Yes but did you try boiling them? Meaty noodles on noodles!  ;*

Thank you for playing!

Aaaaand now I'm sorting packages for the next 10 minutes. Well done striking the balance where the new packages dropping were annoying but not overwhelming. The music is perfect, the rules benign but easy to follow, you really activated my lizard brain need to sort. Good job!

Playing a retro style Gameboy game as a snail, sold. Solving puzzles using obscure snail lore, double sold. Random chess puzzle at the end just for the giggles? I'm floored. Fantastic job, you're a true snail of honor <3
