I really liked the art and the audio of the game, but the gameplay itself didn’t really have too much strategy (or at least I didn’t understand it). After killing around 10 monsters I didn’t know what was going on. What was the goal of the game? Why am I killing these enemies? When do I reach a win or a loss? Some more polish on the gameplay and explanations could’ve done the game wonders. Still, congratulations on finishing the game on time and submitting in the jam!

First off, I liked the idea of the base building and how it works. I think the scaffold tile was really good, to allow for more intricate bases. I also liked how it launched the character like a rocket, making for some really enjoyable movement to catch the timebomb enemies. I would’ve liked to do more in the first few levels, while the base was building up, and I had basically nothing. Also, for a base building game, I would expect some sort of an ability to change the buildings (or at least destroy them). I think the game could’ve been harder too. Overall a really nice game, but these things brought down the enjoyment down a bit.

I really liked the art and the background music. The gameplay was quite simple, but challenging enough to keep me engaged. I think the sfx of the enemies should be turned down though, I think it was way too loud. Overall though, nice entry, thank you!

A very interesting mix of mechanics and abilities, I enjoyed it!

For me the most frustrating part was when losing, having to watch the snake blow up slowly (especially if I was really long). I would’ve loved to get blown up a lot faster to get back into action. Tried achieving something like this by holding R, but still, would’ve been nice to get to that end state faster.

Other than that, really great game. Good job!

Thank you! Glad you liked it!

Thank you for the kind words!

A very interesting setup for a card/deckbuilder game. I loved the card names and how they combined narratively. The art and music was also great. I would play this if this was a full release on steam. Really well done!

The art was very nice, the audio (and character talking sound blips) were super nice, I liked the amount of choices and decisions in the game. The freedom to approach however we liked was also nice. I missed the door for a long time the first time around. Maybe that could be indicated better somehow. I tried the bottom door, it didn’t let me do anything and I then concluded that both doors were for show when in fact the top door was actually usable. Managed to reach full exposure, but it was tricky.

The art and narrative were beautiful. I really liked the use of shaders as they brought out really cool effects. Even the main menu was nice to just move the mouse around and see the effects in action. I wish there was more gameplay though. Maybe some other mechanics, or ways to use the black hole for more things (like e.g. using it to fling stuff because of it’s gravitational pull, or puzzles where light bending is the way you solve them) would’ve been nice.

I liked the idea of pirates and the fact the ship was under bombardment, so you had to finish the game in a certain amount of turns. Having said that, maybe I didn’t progress too much into the game to unlock it, but there were no interesting abilities which would make the turn based, strategy oriented combat interesting. All I had was a hit all around me, a normal hit and a retaliation. Would’ve loved to see some more varied abilities, so it would warrant the turn based strategy format. Still, a very nice submission, thank you!

I liked the speed of the ship and the monsters. It felt really nice dodging them, timing torpedoes on walls to kill both the wall and the monster inside. I am not sure what I am supposed to do with the pressure though, as I hit a level, where when I dive down, there is nothing I can do about the pressure. Maybe I didn’t explore enough, to find what I am supposed to do (like in metroidvania type games).

I liked the soundtrack and the funny narrative, but the objective of the game was very confusing. I think a tutorial or something simillar would’ve helped a lot. Good job on submitting the game before the deadline anyway!

The artwork for the game was absolutely amazing. The soundtrack was also really good. I liked the extremely simple and intuitive controls. The game was approachable to both me and my SO even though our experience with video games is very different, so that is also a big plus. Every moment in the game was action filled which was also nice, but the gameplay itself could’ve spent a bit more time in the oven. Each minigame was quite basic and didn’t really connect in any meaningful way, which was quite sad, considering how good the other parts of the game were. The story was also a bit basic. The boss would’ve benefitted from some more varied attacks to make the fight more interesting. Nevertheless, even with those things, I think overall, the game is really good!

Loved the hacker power fantasy. Never knew hacking could be this easy!

I think for more variety it would’ve been nice to have more minigames for different types of hacks.

Another cool idea could be to add some sort of money and then script/exploit buying to make the hacking easier (just like in real life).

The speedrun metagame is too strong :D

Thank you for the kind words! Glad you enjoyed it.

To help with level generation I wrote a BFS solver to find possible interesting maps, and then hand optimised/cut/mixed maps that were too similar, too short or too out there. Even with that, it was still quite hard, barely made it in time :D

Got a score of 1, but maybe because I was playing this on the trackpad with a laptop :D

I think a little tutorial section on which colours mix into which would’ve helped a lot (so I didn’t have to google that).

Overall, an enjoyable game. Good job!

I liked the game. For me the visual queues were the ones I would use always. I think the descriptions were slightly redundant. I also think the atmosphere could’ve been even more creepy with some background music or sdounds.

Overall a very unique entry.

A simple and intuitive gameplay loop. First time I was shooting from such a perspective. The indicator stopping on the enemies helped a lot with accuracy, that was a nice touch.

Overall, a nice, simple game. Good job!

I liked the game, the power fantasy was a bit too strong though :D I think I broke the game (and it almost broke my PC too) :D

The polish was really nice on this game. Good job!

Thank you, glad you enjoyed it!

Thank you, glad you enjoyed it!

The game was going great, maybe the time until tower collapse could’ve been shorter. We played for 1000s roughly and then the game crashed randomly which was unfortunate, because we didn’t see what happens when the tower collapses.

I think the game could’ve been better with more feedback on enemies hit, but otherwise there are some nice arcade/arena game elements. Reminds me a bit of Akane.

Holy moly, in the last seconds trying to get that cancellation code from the lady nearly had a heart attack :D Great game, really interesting idea :D

I liked the uniqueness of the game and the setting.

I think the horror elements could’ve hit more if it was a bit more uncanny valley (maybe the clowns arms are more red and there are some fingers around) I think the horror element would’ve worked much better. I remember Cyberpunk 2077 side mission “The Hunt” having a simillar vibe, but there, it was more uncanny valley, which made it even more scary.

Good job on the entry though. Lost our fingers and our head :D

I think this could be a great party game :D Me and my SO had a “blowout” :D

Best we got:

Really liked the game idea. It was quite enjoyable. The controls were easy to understand, and very intuitive. I liked how the keys clustered around the same area (so the game could even be played with one hand :D). I could see myself sinking more time into this with better difficulty optimization. When I understood how the game works it became way too easy, as I had a ton of resources, and could collect a lot in each level, and a big army that would demolish everything in a new area.

Also, once an area is clear of enemies, the game has this boring phase where you just run around doing nothing and waiting for resources while the falling ground catches up. I think there should be something more interesting to do during that time.

Another slightly unintuitive thing were the forrests. At first It thought you can’t pass them (they seemed super dense) so I used to try to run around them, and I even once I saw you can pass them, I still would sometimes forget, and try to dodge them.

I think the collection of the materials was really great, I liked the animation of the numbers. I think it could be even more satisfying with some sounds.

I got a bit bored after 20 minutes and fell off the ground intentionally in the end.

Gave the game to my so. She also enjoyed it a lot, but after half an hour of play encountered a bug? Basically there were no exits and the ground was not falling anymore :D

Overall though, really polished, very enjoyable and fun. Good job!

A very interesting idea, cool game, I enjoyed it. I liked the idea of hacking one student and then getting more points to buy more hacks on the blackmarket (kind of how you can trade a botnet for something there IRL).

At first I didn’t get what I am supposed to do, or what is going on. Then later, every minigame was hard to understand. This was probably due to me only skimming over the description, instead of reading thoroughly (didn’t do my homework I guess :D). Still, some in game instructions and explanations would’ve been super helpful, especially since there is a lot of context switching and things to understand (first to understand the base game, then each minigame).

Also, the snake controls felt a bit off. I guess it’s because there can be only one move per tick, and the ticks were quite slow. Maybe queueing up 2 (legal) moves would allow for more snappy controlls.

Nevertheless, the game was enjoyable, I liked it and I did get #1 :D

I think you nailed the arcade aesthetic quite well in both the graphics and the gameplay. I like the low skill floor, and high ceiling (could hit the big planes and planes close to the ground quite consistently, but the small planes high up were super tricky (and rewarding) to hit). Good job!

I liked the art and the concept. Simple controls were a nice touch too. Well done!

Managed to launch the rocket. Spaceman out! :D Also liked how the worse I did on the timing, the worse the effects were. Really well done!

Very cool game. As an avid enjoyer of rhythm games (osu! in particular) I found this very cool. Also quite fun learning the patterns of the bosses.

This game is way harder than what I imagined looking at the screenshots. Really nice though, surprisingly relaxing and very intuitive. Good job! I liked the game!

Liked the game, the visualisation at the start was quite nice as an introduction to the concept. Would be interesting to see how the game would work if during the black sections a narrator would talk (like in The Stanley Parable).

Overall, great submission. Thank you!

The atmosphere of the game was involving, even though the answers were way too esoteric imo. Loved the breathing and ticking effect.

Also, I think it’s possible to place two cards in the same slot (at least for most populated cities question that happened to me on accident).

Overall, great entry. Thank you!

Alt. name Memebusters? :D A very interesting entry, had a laugh :D

Thank you! Glad you enjoyed the difficulty!

An interesting take on the theme. The controls were intuitive, the game felt good. Tracking the bombs around was nice, but I think digital clock (rather than analog) on them would’ve better conveyed how much time is left before it explodes.

Also, the spikes being a wall was unintuitive. At first I was trying to avoid them, because usually step on spike = lose a life, but here they are just used as a wall.

Good job on the submission!

I liked the idea, it fit the theme well! I really wanted more choices, because it seemed I was just repeating the same choice a lot of the times. Thank you for the entry!
