Ahh I see, that’s so cool that it ended up being a melody. And great to see that there’s a better build waiting to be uploaded soon!

For the crash I don’t remember too many details unfortunately, basically it just turned white and everything froze; I has to close the app entirely to get it to work although once it did start working by itself again (before freezing again lol).

Sorry idk if that was helpful but it’s all I remember.

This game is clever! Using planets to slingshot yourself and optimizing your fuel to make sure you go as far as possible is actually quite enjoyable.

I will say for anyone trying to play this game, it's much better downloaded (I noticed the web build had a lot of stuttering and the audio was strange, even with the fluid thingo off - none of that was a problem in the desktop one even with it on for me. Note that my computer is relatively new).

I like the melody of planets when you enter each orbit, and the art is superb.

Possible improvements:

- Maybe optimize it further? even though I could play it on desktop it would spontaneously crash. Surprising given the graphics don't look too intensive (although obv lots of physics computing involved). It stopped me from enjoying the game as much as I could have.

- I didn't really understand what the goal was, just to find new areas? it would be nice if there was some incentive to going around and finding new areas. And maybe providing a little more direction to the player would help.

Overall quite fun, would recommend continuing the project!

(1 edit)

I really liked this game! It's a twist on the classic snake with numbered heads to match the countdown theme - at first I may have been a little confused, but I picked it up and it was fun. I liked the idea of strategizing to make sure you don't hit the wrong color and thus create a new head.

My main gripe is: I don't really know if there is a particular reason you can't just go for all colors? I guess if you kept alternating for example, you would get more heads which would ALL start counting down, which is ofc not good; ig what I'm saying is maybe you could add some more incentives for choosing the same color (idk like combos?). This is a bit nitpicky though haha.

Also this is probably just me but the sound effect for collecting a square is a little annoying, but again this is really nitcpicky (I'm only suggesting this because your game is quite good).

Also I noticed that it seemed a little unresponsive to my keyboard (it likely *isn't* but the turns always seemed a little delayed, so either adding some sort of sound or visual effect to indicate that I have turned).

Thanks for the wonderful game!

This game is interesting! I understand the premise and what to do almost straight away and the tasks are intuitive. I like the art (simple yet good) and the audio is alright.

A few changes I would suggest:

- how can you tell if a food has been boiled vs if it is raw? perhaps add a timer to tell when it is done + a "cooked" effect (like is it browner, I know is not really realistic for boiling lol but it's something)

- maybe some background music? it's just bubbles and it can get a *little* annoying

An overall fun game!

This game is really cool! I like the aesthetic and the music is catchy. At first I didn't understand what to do and I confess I'm not great at the game (tried like five times and couldn't get past the second person), however, was still quite fun.

I liked how instructions were given in-game though ("left-click to parry"), simple and easy to understand that. Although it probably should have been made clearer that health goes down on its own, and how to replenish that health (unless it's just supposed to be a time limit?).

A little confusing otherwise quite fun game!

This game was fun after I understood the controls. It took a bit of time but I got it!

I liked how it was a very unique execution of the theme - while the timer may not have been unique, the idea of syncing notifications definitely was to me. The visuals were simple (in a good way), and easy to follow.

Perhaps adding a tutorial video would help? It was a bit confusing at first, trying to understand how to get the exact time (which on its own was hard).

Otherwise fun game!

The game is interesting, it was quite enjoyable although very difficult (at least for me). Nice job for a first game (it was much better than mine haha) - I understood what I had to do, the controls were easy enough to use, and the obstacles were intuitive enough to navigate (I already knew having not played the game, to avoid the security for example).

Some music would be nice, you don't have to make it of course just some assets you can find (and legally use). And perhaps a tutorial area/make the first guy easy to kill just to allow for some progression.

While this game has lots of potential to be better, congratulations on an enjoyable, cohesive game!

This game was amazing, you can tell lots of work has gone into this. Compliments:
- the art was adorable: a very unique aesthetic that you pulled off really nicely in my opinion!
- the premise was simple yet addictive, and the learning curve was small (at least for me): made it very fun to play and I felt like I was actually mastering the game
- the level design seemed very intentional in a good way, colorful flowers placed at the right positions, the obstacles somewhat obstructing your view relying on your rhythm to continue)

Improvements you can make (honestly considering the amount of time you had this was amazing, some of these will be quite nitpicky as well):
- extending the game further (considering that this is a game jam though it makes sense you have five cohesive levels, better than 10 messy ones): perhaps including more time signatures (like 6/8 or 3/4, or some crazy ones as well!)
- being able to skip through dialogue: again not much of a problem though considering there wasn't as much
- more difficulty? It didn't seem to hard for me specifically, but otherwise fun (I got 3 stars on all of them hehehe).

This was a gem! Thanks for sharing!

Thanks for the comment! I’ll develop it further after the game jam ends including adding tutorials and more pictures about how to get different puffs.

Glad to know the idea is unique and enjoyable (potentially if I polish it much more lol)!

Thanks for the feedback! Adding sound effects (and music perhaps) is a good idea to improving the game, as well as fixing bugs. Adding a tablet in the corner to show the order of puff styles is a good idea as well!

As for the game over screen I have to look into why that isn’t working, I submitted edits last second (after the 24hr bug fixing time) so didn’t get a chance to fix it.

Thanks and yeah next time I'll add a tutorial video or something (too late now lol). I made a few changes to the game to make it better (unfortunately ran out of time and the scoreboard doesn't work 😭 oh well) like colored text and a timer (+ game over page).
