Pros:

  • Interesting storyline, wanted to see where the story went (also the couch had a crazy lore drop lmao)
  • Art was well done and the lack of music in the dark rooms really added to the vibe
  • Relates well to the theme “Trust No One”, all the characters just felt a little “off” and untrustworthy

Cons:

  • Doesn’t give a lot of direction as to where to go or what to do, I understand the choice but this could have been supported better (e.g. some sort of indicator why the spotlight is bad would have been nice) - hope this makes sense
  • When entering doorways in the second part the mc didn’t “enter” the room (i.e. new scene wasn’t shown) straight away - we had to walk inside the doorways in some weird directions. This could have been a design choice but I don’t think I like it 😅
  • Navigation - when restarting after failing (thanks, spotlight 😆) the character kept wanting to go to the middle? Also when clicking on a spot for the character to go, sometimes it would get stuck, it’s only a small detail though!

Overall, while the game feels like I’m being thrown in the deep end and could do with a bit of polishing, I enjoyed the gameplay quite a bit!

Heh, i am very glad i dropped in the couch encounter. Glad someone found it.

I'm aware of the many bugs and issues, i was the only coder and honestly it's the first time i've coded a complete game like this.

This jam version will stay the same but some of us are interested in reworking things and at least releasing a polished non rushed version of what we have if not add more content, which i could imagine doing because i really enjoyed doing dialogue and puzzle ideas.

I see, as a not very experienced coder myself it’s hard to make a fully coherent game by yourself (I made my first one for a different game jam and it was… interesting to say the least). It is helpful to keep scope in mind though so it’s not overwhelming.

I’d love to see a polished version of this =]

Thanks once again. The recent feedback has inspired me to get back into it.
