Psychological Horror – Unreal Engine 5
[LFP] Seeking Core Team for Vertical Slice (RevShare)

The Vision

Project Red Zone is a narrative-driven psychological horror experience set within a decaying Soviet industrial district — a space eroded by time, ideology, and silence.

This is not a jump-scare project.
It is atmosphere-driven horror built on:

  • Brutalist architecture

  • Environmental storytelling

  • Minimal, intentional mechanics

  • Industrial decay

  • Sound as psychological pressure

We are developing a tightly controlled 10–20 minute vertical slice to establish tone, cohesion, and mechanical restraint before expanding into a full experience.

Engine: Unreal Engine 5
Structure: Small, disciplined core team
Compensation: Revenue share / portfolio collaboration (transparent discussion)

Roles Needed

Project Red Zone is very environment-driven, so I’m less focused on characters right now and more on spaces that feel institutional, abandoned, and indifferent to the player. Think brutalist or utilitarian interiors, places built for function that have outlived their purpose.

At this stage I’m mainly looking for loose environmental concept explorations rather than anything polished — mood, composition, scale, and atmosphere matter more than detail.

At this stage, the project is very early and focused heavily on restraint, silence, and environmental sound rather than traditional music scoring. I’m still in the process of feeling out collaborators and defining scope. 

Do you have any examples of work that lean more toward minimal, ambient, or non-melodic sound design rather than emotional scoring?

I’m developing an early-stage psychological horror project set in an abandoned Soviet-era environment, focused on restraint, ambiguity, and environmental storytelling rather than spectacle or exposition.

The project prioritizes atmosphere, oppressive space, repetition, and systems that feel indifferent to the player. It’s inspired by late-1990s and early-2000s atmospheric horror design philosophy and is being built under a tightly directed creative vision.

I’m currently looking for collaborators interested in contributing to one or more of the following areas:

  • Environment / concept art (brutalist, institutional, decayed spaces)

  • Sound design (ambient, industrial, oppressive audio)

  • Gameplay prototyping / implementation (Unity or Unreal, early-stage systems)

This is an unpaid, early collaboration with revenue share and full credit if the project ships. Scope will be kept intentionally small and focused.
