Thank you so much for the feedback! im glad you found the difficulty on point, it came on the first try ill be honest so it was mostly luck, i picked 96 hours only because of the jam duration lol.

I really liked your idea of integrating tutorials (I tried doing it in the intro with the stereo and i think it turned out pretty well) ill definitely be working more on it in the future. As for the SFX and music, i do agree that theyre a bit harsh and scarce, ive recently started learning using Bosca Ceoil for the music and ill probably be using it to make more and improved SFX since i found it better and easier to use that audacity.

Speaking of the music, i get what you mean with it being too fast paced, but thats kind of intended. without the fast paced music, there really is no sense of urgency. I did consider having checkpoint-style stops at certain intervals (say the mayor calls to check on your progress and also remind you of the time left). Maybe ill be doing that to replace the sense of urgency form the music.

Thank you again for the Feedback! im really glad you enjoyed the game (I really enjoyed yours too!).

I meant instead of having Tabs the player can navigate, you transport the player to those tabs sequentially. i.e the player negotiates, gains exp and gets to spend his skill points. then is transported to the board where you can pick the next person to negotiate with. Things like the inventory can remain as tabs, but for the "Main" scenes they should be rotated automatically. i know this gives less freedom for the player, but maybe youre giving them too much freedom?

in the end This is just an opinion, a game like this can easily go either way and be just as good. Good Luck With It!

(1 edit)

This game is awesome! the intro made me think i was playing a different game (what  happened to all the bright colors lol). The gameplay is very enjoyable although i wouldve loved to see a slow time ability or something. the levels are really well designed too.

i did get a bit of a glitch on the 4th or 5th level, i died in the secret area and respawned out of bounds.

Still a really good game tho!

Coming from an Egyptian, the dedication for this project is very impressive! im generally not one thats too interested in things this political since it always comes with its fair share of controversy. i wont get into the narrative for this reason, ill only talk on it on a "Game-Based point of view" (I hope you understand, i dont want to spark some kind of debate).

The narrative is great, it clearly emphasized how important your role is as the player and how you must strategize your decisions before making them. combine it with the strategical gameplay and you get an engaging experience.

The gameplay does come with its drawbacks however. but its mainly a UI issue. i often found my self lost, and didnt really what i was doing. this could be a byproduct of the custom engine. Having a custom engine for you game is great i love it, and with some more work on the UI to make easier to read and navigate. it would take this game to a whole new level. the different tabs sometimes would overlap and animations got stuck (at least i think they did).

I think it would be better to have the game be played in sequential segments rather that have the player be able to jump from one to the other.

Overall i see some great potential here, with enough work this could become a really good game. id love to see what it could become in the future!

ps. i know this would sort of kill the games atmosphere a little, but i just thought having the games events and characters be that of real ones could be a rather risky thing to do? this is just a suggestion, if you as the developer feel like thats what you want to then you should absolutely go ahead and do it. But i personally wouldnt risk exposure to controversy. either way i think the game would still turn out Great!

Thank you so much for the feedback! The font was from a previous project and I didn't really have the time to make another one, if I do however I'll probably change it out. If the font seemed blurry it's a problem with the web version, Itis probably something to do with the resizing of the game window.

Sorry about the crafting system it never seems to work, I'll definitely be looking at your bug soon and I'll update it as soon as possible!

really interesting concept! shame the experience was so short, but i think i get the idea. Theres a lot of potential here, especially with half charming half apocalyptic atmosphere, and the narrative to back it up. the mechanic of managing the items in your backpack is quite unique, and id love to see it fully implemented some day. As for the items they are a bit hard to spot, and that isnt necessarily a bad thing. I dont think it should be intended for the player to pick up every single item along the way. Maybe having the necessary items pop in some way to make them harder to miss (Make the glow or something), but i dont think it should be that way for all items.

Really like the mechanics on this one! the notepad was a really good touch and the puzzles were quite unique. The artstyle is quite charming and the music and sound fit very well. my only gripe was the lack of a tutorial, introducing the controls and showing the player how to interact with items would help alot.

Regarding the gameplay, there are a few things i would like to see, most importantly the reset button, i get that 60 seconds isnt enough to do the whole game, but why confine to that in the first place? instead what id like to see is a longer timer with checkpoints inbetween puzzles. and you can even imply the cave in with the sound effects and camera shake when the timer is almost up, as oppose to it happening in the last 10 seconds. i also get that the player can get stuck, so maybe the reset button should apply to these checkpoints and not the whole game?

Anyway that was my main point, the notepad eraser should also probably be a bit bigger instead of just being the same size as the pencil, but thats pretty minor.

all in all this is a pretty good entry, and id like to see it evolve into a full game, or even just a slightly bigger version by the end of this jam. 4/5.

Really cool are style! the scale up in difficulty feels natural and not too exponential. the gameplay is smooth, my only complain is having the player attack in the last direction he moved in, it can set you off a bit maybe adding a cursor that determines which side to attack would make it better. Great Job tho!

wow thank you so much for the feedback! i tried to aim for a retro style in the art and music and i think they turned out pretty good. i also did get what you mean about the whole no actuals counting down part, but  i also didnt want the alarm clock to be a timer but rather an actual clock, i thought about maybe adding a time in the last 8 hours or so (Day 5) but ultimately decided not to.

Thank you so much for letting me know about the bugs, the crafting system is a bit flawed, it was my first time ever making one, but ill definitley be looking into it and fixing it before the deadline!

Really fun experience! The gameplay feels smooth and fun, however i do feel like the reward system needs some work.

the progression feels really slow, at least in my experience. starting the player with this much money just doesnt feel right. especially when having to completely reset if you run out. instead, id prefer if there some way to make money that isnt gambling. this game really reminds me of Duck life the flash game, and i think it should take inspiration from it too. maybe instead of betting on a random cookie each time, you can "own" one that you train and grow to eventually win races with. aswell open up ways to make money passively in case you blow it all on one race. that obstacle addition is a nice feature, and can easily be expanded on.

with all that said everything else about the game is great! the art, music and ui are all very good. this is still a great game by all means, but i just think it needs that bit more. 4/5!

great experience! i didnt get the chance to see this game during GMTK, but judging from the long list of improvements in the game page i assume a lot big changes were made. all in all this was a great game and it definitely is a full game that can be improved. maybe adding more maps with varying difficulties (i.e number of homies and maybe even number of items) would make this even more complete, you can even add a leaderboard, (gotta find who the best kisser is 👀👀). 5/5!

the constant addition of new mechanics really help keep the game fresh and challenging. Castle 2 is major step up, the longer levels and new mechanics are great, the levels are more challenging and thats a good thing. defenitely one the better entries in this jam so far. 5/5!

very unique entry! The mechanics are very satisfying and arent overly complex once you do the tutorial. the transition from globe to map view is very smooth and interesting. the skill tree didnt quits work or at least i dont think it did. i look forward to seeing how this turns out at the end. 4/5.

Great improvements!

the addition of music, and the player design all fit very well. the improved physics and make the gameplay smooth and engaging, and the levels are unique and quite challenging. some more sound effects could is all i see missing here especially for the dialogue, without any sound it felt a bit out of place. overall pretty good entry 4.5/5.

Pretty good entry!

-in terms of challenge level, the games is pretty challenging, but not impossible. adding a tutorial or maybe some hints would make it less challenging without necessarily ruining the difficult aspect to it.

-The artwork is charming! so is the narrative, the Frog boss is well designed and introducing the items launching at you mechanic earlier is smart, i like it.

- my only real gripe is the lack of audio. i know its something thats usually left out till the end, but its still very crucial. without it the atmosphere feels quite bland.

all in all this a good game, but it just needs that little bit more. 4/5.

Many things to point out here, but lets start with the game itself.

-The core mechanic is great! the artwork is nice and the cat designs fit very well.

-As for the difficulty, the game doesnt need to be harder in the sense of adding more cats. but rather by have the cats be more that static objects with occasional animations. having them interact with the world or maybe even just walk around can add so much more depth. In other words, making use of the animations as intended. I liked the scale up in difficulty, having the cats be stationary, then giving them animations was nice, but i just hoped for that little bit more.

-Of course The lack of sound and overly minimalistic UI are present, but that isnt that huge of a problem.

overall this isnt a bad Game! and with a little bit more time it can be a great one. 3/5

Hello Everyone! id love to know your feedback on my entry COUNTDOWN which was originally released for the GMTK 2026 Game jam.

after taking all the feedback and ratings from the initial submission, i -Hopefully- addressed all the bugs and issues with the game. id like to thank each and every one of you who has played my game, and i hope you like what ive done here. COUNTDOWN is now available on both Web and Windows.

for a very simple idea this is executed very well! wouldve liked some sort of tutorial beforehand, Great Job nonetheless!

I think there was a problem when loading some of the assets? i got some ping squares. regardless of that the gameplay is quite fun! couldve used some more sound (unless there was and it just didnt work). Great Job either way!

Thank You so much! i totally agree with the scalling of things (particularly with the props in the crafting area). ill definitely look into that in the future!
