Yeah, there are so many people with the same issue that the forum moderator doesn't even seem to be replying anymore. Before, I used to see them trying to help and answer these threads, but now I think they've just given up.
There's also the comments issue. Nobody can comment on my game page, and I can't comment anywhere else either. It feels like multiple systems are just stuck, with no way to know what's going on.
I'm in the same situation. 😅
Support asked me to share my game on social media to generate some traffic, so I did. My page has received views and downloads, but it's still not indexed.
Another thing I've seen a lot of people mention is the comments. I've read reports from people waiting over 6 months, and several people have already commented on my game, but the comments still aren't showing up either. 😂
At this point I'm starting to wonder if something is stuck in the indexing process, because it seems to be affecting quite a few developers.
Hello! I published my game "Cornelio's Apartments" about 15 days ago. I've been getting some organic traffic and downloads from my community, but I noticed the game is still not indexed in the itch.io search results.
I have already reached out via email regarding this issue (Ticket #380392) but haven't received a response yet, so I decided to post here.
Could an admin please review my page and make it discoverable?
Thank you! https://bailanta-games.itch.io/cornelios-apartments
I completely agree with Snio. It is extremely complicated to promote a game that doesn't appear in the platform's search results.
Clicking on a random direct link posted somewhere is something that many people simply avoid out of fear of malware or scams. Personally, when I see a good game on a forum or social media, I always go to the official platform's search bar to verify if it actually exists and is legitimate. If it doesn't show up in the search, most people will assume it's suspicious and just give up.
Expecting us to build an audience while the platform completely hides our projects makes the promotion process nearly impossible.
