Just gave this a quick play. Not sure if you're looking for feedback, but I just wanted to say I really like the interface, the design, the colors. It looks great. The gameplay, I wasn't sure what I was supposed to do at first, kinda reminds me of an old Facebook game 'Mafia' which was turn based simulation like this. I was addicted to that for a while. I only had two pieces of advice which I think might really help in this case:
1 - The interface looks great, but it doesn't tell me what to do. You can make tooltips when you click or hover on each button and label that explain what everything does. You could also have a general (?) 'HELP' or 'HOW TO PLAY' with brief instructions. "Click things to do actions. Each actions costs time and sometimes money. Do things to stay alive and build your character and gain some adventure"
2 - The music changing for every scene was a bit too much. I think you can keep 1 song playing and just change the "ambient sound".
That's all. Nothing critical. Hopefully that's useful and not annoying to hear :) I think it's interesting and I want to play again when I have more time.
Gridmax is in Early Access but very much playable now. It is a survival and building game with some colony and management features. Coded in C++ with SDL2 library so it runs pretty fast and can do a lot of fancy stuff :) The most interesting feature is the ORDERS system. After you get settled in with survival you can summon gridlings to help you continue building and mining. You can establish jobs such as "Gather 5 wood", "Make 5 Doors", "Build Doors here and here", and they will all get to work until the job queue is complete.
