This is way more polished than any game jam game has a right to be lol. Great entry! My only complaints are lack of full screen and I didn’t read the names of the cats fast enough as they were placed so I had no idea what they did

The boss oneshot your entire army? I know the melee boss has a much larger range, and will instantly attack anyone the first time they enter his range, regardless of cooldown. I might’ve tuned his damage too high. If it took out the entire map instantly, then that’s a big bug I’ve not yet run into and will have to look at.
Thanks for giving a shot, and for the feedback
Thanks for playing, the sounds were fun!
Initially I made all enemies stop when they encountered a zombie or a skeleton, but gameplay quickly devolved into spawn camping. Enemies will still fight the zombie if you spawn them on top of them though, which is great to dump a few zombies into a pack while your other heavy hitters whittle them down.
Thanks for giving it a go!
There’s definitely some upgrades that are better than others. I know early game I like to prioritize Decay Rate and Resources, and start getting more Damage and Attack Speed. I usually save the upgrades to Experience and Spawn Rate towards the end.
Actually after playing it some more after submission, I think the Experience upgrade is a trap. Yes you get more upgrades quicker, but it means you kill less enemies and get less resources, which can cripple a run for sure.
Thanks for giving it a try!
Initially I had it so enemies would stop when colliding with one of your minions, however gameplay just devolved into a blockade of zombies at the spawn. I made it so only the target being attacked is that one that stops (sometimes, some enemies keep on truckin).
You can just drop zombies on a crowd and they’ll all stop to smack them around though, so that tactic is still possible lol
Neat take on the theme, I loved the names of the explorers lol. “Amelia Dareheart”, “Bear Thrills”, “Sacagowander” ahahah.
For the first 5 times I got Buzz Aldingo going to the Moon, and I kept picking poorly, ranging from 0/5 to 2/5 but he still kept coming back. Eventually I started getting other explorers too but I could never get above 3/5.
My only real complaint with the game is I felt there was no real goal. There’s no end (from what I can tell, I started spam clicking choices willy-nilly to see if I had to reach a certain number of sales or something, but they just kept coming). Even something like a running score, or a summary after x amount of sales would be motivating.
I saw in other comments that this is your first game without a tutorial, so huge props for that! Well done!
Thanks for playing it! I tried to make several different versions of each event, as once I was playing through in testing I would think “Oh I know how this one ends because I’ve done it a few times”, so I added some variety.
What kind of rewards should happen for when things go right? Maybe more things that can upgrade your ship or other perks could be added, I’d love to hear your thoughts. Thanks for playing it, and finishing it! It usually takes me about 30-45 mins to get to the end, so that’s huge.
Loved the A Capella lol, was so entranced in listening to the music that I completely missed the intro.
First playthrough seemed to stop after I talked to the 2nd NPC (the old man) and I chose the 3rd dialogue option, and then the game stopped responding to my input. I couldn’t leave the convo, or move, or interact or change forms.
Second playthrough went better, was really cute, nice work!
This was really cool, was so focused on getting the hang of the movement that I didn’t even think to try harpooning enemies until I was almost to the boss. Managed to beat the boss by hanging toward the right and just safely harpooning him in the face as he passed by lol.
Really neat idea, and kind of awesome what you’re able to accomplish with just two colors, love it
This was really neat! Loved the tutorial, thought it was really well done. I was totally immersed, and really bummed when my playthrough ended seemingly due to a bug of some sorts?
Made it up to the first time we get 4 enemies, and the mage kept stun-locking my entire party. Once my thralls all died, a message briefly popped up and then went away, and it kept saying I should right click to raise dead thralls, but nothing happened after that.
Hilarious, I like the endings are great. 3-6 months seems a bit steep for nudity lol. And judging your neighbor for being in a bathrobe made me laugh.
A really intuitive game, didn’t need any tutorial or instruction. My only critique would be it feels like 70% of the time I’m looking at the tiny minimap which only takes up like 5% of the screen, but still had a good time. Nice work!
I just threw those in there for fun and planned to take them out or do something different later, but I decided to keep them in, too many funny moments while testing. Blasting at 600ns and bouncing awkwardly off an asteroid while I hear a whisper of “Asteroids…” lol. Glad you enjoyed it, thanks for playing
I was vibing with the music, nice work on that! Love the art style, but I couldn’t figure out how to do anything. Left click (and holding) didn’t seem to do anything, I couldn’t interact with anything at all, and when I let the enemies attack me it seems like I’m invincible.
Still an enjoyable few minutes though. Was sad when the music stopped and didn’t loop =(. I laughed at the big heavy knights that try to buttslam you ahahah.
Love the retro style! Reminds me of some of the old games I’d play on my old Super Nintendo.
Also nice work on the saving feature, I don’t think I’ve ever seen a web export that saves your progress like yours does.
My only gripes are that I wish I had an option to have the text fill in all at once instead of letter by letter, and I wish I had more stats I could view. Enemies seemed to have speed but I wasn’t sure what mine was. Those Snakes are ruthless early on.
Was having a blast until I encountered an enemy with 10k health! After 99 turns I wasn’t even a quarter into its health bar, and nothing could land a hit on me so it was basically a boring loop of waiting to click my attack button. Loved the idea and execution but the randomized numbers got pretty wonky the farther I went.
