I've really been enjoying your app as I didn't beforehand know that I liked doing crosswords! In the search for more UK-centric .puz files I came across the archive of Private Eye - unfortunately these all make the app crash:

That looks great to me, thanks for considering this.

The font used in PocketReader (also on Itch) works well. It’s chunkier without being overtly bold or semi bold, which is how I understand the titles in PlayNews to be. I like the way you currently have it where the titles are a different font-weight to the body text.

This app is wonderful, it was great to find out that, yes there really is an RSS reader for PlayDate. My only request is that the main body text be slightly 'chunkier' as the single-pixel font can be quite challenging to read in anything other than bright sunlight.

Look forward to seeing the full release!

So far so good: no crashes and it correctly recognises UK cities and postcodes!

This morning it has correctly located 'Cambridge' (UK), however yesterday it did not and including 'UK' in the name led it to show weather for UK, Chelyabinsk, Russia.

I am also seeing a crash every time I change the location. Entering my post code caused a crash, then a second crash when relaunching the app (followed by reverting to the previous location on the 2nd relaunch).

I’m having trouble getting the app to recognise any cities in the UK; it picks some slightly obscure alternatives in the US. Might in future it be possible to show a list of possible matches?

Otherwise love the UI and attention to detail, will look forward to seeing it launch on the catalog.

Really lovely interpretation of Space Invaders on the PlayDate; captures the essence of the original but with the polish of a fully formed Playdate game.

Thanks, it's probably a minor edge case but good that they have visibility of it.

I found a reproducible crash: if a filename has two periods between the name and extension it will crash the Playdate (file..txt). I made a typo when creating files to read.

Thanks for your work on this, I've been enjoying reading a large book I struggle to find time for otherwise!

Can I put in a request for these games to make it to Valve’s Steam store please? It would be amazing to play Otto Matic and others  with Steam achievements and cloud save. I’d even be happy to pay for them through the store.

Incidentally the original Marathon trilogy have made it onto the store recently, via a developer who has been maintaining them (not Bungie).

Yes I redownloaded from the Discover store and it works great - I don’t know why the Flatpack version from the web performs differently.

Firstly thank you so much for porting these games that I spent many hours playing as a kid on our family’s iMac.

I installed the Linux x86 app on a Steam Deck (I was amazed this was possible) and encountered an issue that makes Cro Mag very hard to play: every key press registers as 2-3 presses. E.g. in menus it’s near impossible to intentionally select the item you want. There is no such issue in Ottomatic or Bugdom 2.

Keep up the great work!
